Las Vegas (/lɑːs ˈveɪɡəs/, also locally /lɑːs ˈvɛɡᵻs/; Spanish: [laz ˈβeɣas]) officially the City of Las Vegas and often known as simply Vegas, is a city in the United States, the most populous city in the state of Nevada, the county seat of Clark County, and the city proper of the Las Vegas Valley. Las Vegas is an internationally renowned major resort city known primarily for gambling, shopping, fine dining and nightlife and is the leading financial and cultural center for Southern Nevada.
The city bills itself as The Entertainment Capital of the World, and is famous for its mega casino–hotels and associated entertainment. A growing retirement and family city, Las Vegas is the 29th-most populous city in the United States, with a population of 603,488 at the 2013 United States Census Estimates. The 2013 population of the Las Vegas metropolitan area was 2,027,828. The city is one of the top three leading destinations in the United States for conventions, business, and meetings. In addition, the city's metropolitan area has more AAA Five Diamond hotels than any other city in the world, and is a global leader in the hospitality industry. Today, Las Vegas is one of the top tourist destinations in the world.
The Neon Museum in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, features signs from old casinos and other businesses displayed outdoors on over 6 acres (2.4 ha). The museum features a restored lobby shell from the defunct La Concha Motel as its visitor center, which officially opened on October 27, 2012.
For many years, the Young Electric Sign Company stored many of these old signs in their "boneyard." The signs were slowly being destroyed by exposure to the elements. The museum is slowly restoring the signs and placing them around the Fremont Street Experience.
The signs are considered by Las Vegas locals, business owners, and government organizations to be not only artistically, but also historically significant to the culture of the city. Each of the restored signs in the collection holds a story about who created it and why it is important.
The Neon Museum was founded in 1996 as a partnership between the Allied Arts Council of Southern Nevada and the City of Las Vegas. Today, it is an independent non-profit. The Neon Museum maintains restored signs along the Fremont Street Experience as well as the signs in the Boneyard collection.
Sunday Morning or Sunday Mornin' may refer to:
CBS News Sunday Morning is an American newsmagazine television program that has aired on CBS since January 28, 1979. Created by Robert Northshield and original host Charles Kuralt, the 90-minute program currently airs Sundays from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Eastern, Pacific Time from 7:00 to 8:30 a.m. and 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. in all other time zones (live in the Eastern & Central time zones, and on tape delay elsewhere). The current host of the program is Charles Osgood, who took over duties from Kuralt upon his retirement on April 3, 1994, and has since surpassed Kuralt's tenure as host. Substitute anchors for Osgood include CBS correspondents Lee Cowan, Anthony Mason, Charlie Rose and Jane Pauley.
The program was originally conceived to be a broadcast version of a Sunday newspaper magazine supplement, most typified by the Sunday New York Times Magazine. The format was conceived as the Sunday equivalent of the CBS Morning News, which following Sunday Morning's debut was retitled to reflect each day of the week (such as Monday Morning, Tuesday Morning, etc.).
The Sacramento Capitals were a team in World Team Tennis.
The Capitals have won six championships, including four straight from 1997 to 2000. The other titles came in 2002 and 2007.
For the 2012 World Team Tennis season, the team returned to play its home matches at Capitals Stadium at Sunrise Mall. In previous years, they called the following venues home: The Westfield Galleria at Roseville, Gold River Racket Club in Gold River, and the original ARCO Arena in the Natomas area.
On February 4, 2014, the Capitals, after 28 seasons in Sacramento, announced their move to Las Vegas. The team was renamed the Las Vegas Neon. The new Las Vegas team was shut down a few weeks later, before it even started after owner was arrested for running a Ponzi scheme.

The World Famous Neon Sign Graveyard in Las Vegas! All those old Neon Signs were once consigned to the boneyard of the Young electric Sign Company, very off limits to the public, until a decision in 1996 led to the creation of the Las Vegas Neon Museum, which now operates just north of town and Displays all those classic Neon Signs! Stardust, Sahara, Desert Inn, Golden Nugget, so many famous names! Unfortunately, Vlogging is not allowed, so how will we get around this unfortunate "no filming" rule?
While we were in Las Vegas, we couldn't resist visiting the famous Neon Museum and its collection of casino signs. Each sign in this boneyard tells a story about the era in which it was built, and together traces the story of sign architecture and typography culture in America.
Here's a look at the Neon Museum and Neon Boneyard, a must-see attraction in Las Vegas. The Neon Museum has acquired an adjoining parcel for an expansion, seen next to the La Concha Motel lobby visitor center. More at http://www.vitalvegas.com Music courtesy of Michael Movestro.
There are few distractions in Las Vegas outside the glaring light of the gambling halls, but one of the best also preserves the city's light-filled legacy: the Neon Museum. This eclectic "neon boneyard" celebrates artifacts of Las Vegas' native art form: the neon sign. Collecting donated signs, tracking down antiques in need of preservation, and even repairing signs that are returned to be on display in the community, the crew at the Neon Museum is committed to re-invigorating these vibrant objects of Las Vegas history.
We weren't allowed to film in the Neon Boneyard, but I wanted to give you another glimpse into apart of our 36 Hours in Las Vegas. There are few cities as infinitely bright as Las Vegas, but there are also few cities as glaringly temporary. Every time the Strip gets a facelift, it loses one of its iconic neon signs, which for decades have lit up the desert like a giant welcome mat. Thankfully, a few stars of the city's Golden Age have been preserved. Lee Cowan visits the Neon Museum. A fascinating glimpse into the non-stop entertainment capital of the world, Las Vegas, that offers a great deal more than the gambling casinos for which it's famous. I love my city more than anything- the bright lights on screens as you drive down Las Vegas Boulevard, the delicious treats at Sprinkles and Serendipity 3, most of all the fact that any weekend can be made into an occasion. One of my biggest blessings is that what some people travel miles to see is just 20 minutes away from my house. I'm going to miss it so much when I'm up in Logan starting the next chapter of my life! I'm absolutely convinced that Vegas will always hold a piece of my heart though. With that said I want to share a project I've been working on for months that captures my favorite spots in the city. Having called Vegas home for the past 10 years, I'd like to think I know my way around pretty well. For every friend's birthday or high school dance I'd be down on the strip en...

From the series http://formento2.com/projects/circumstance/ In November 2009, Formento+Formento packed their home and 3 Siamese cats into their 27ft silver Airstream and began their epic cross country adventure. Armed with a small budget for everything from gas to styling, the plan was 5 months, 25 states and 50 women. With just the two of them to produce, style and shoot the entire production, they used googlemap as their travel guide and they embraced the open road, often scouting locations, meeting women and shooting them on the same day. Paying homage to the work of Hitchcock, with influences of Cindy Sherman, as well as Edward Hopper - a prominent American realist painter who made solitude and introspection an important theme in his painting – ‘Circumstance’ is a body of work that e...
--- http://MovingPostcard.com --- Downtown Las Vegas, centered around Fremont Street, is the historic alternative to the Las Vegas Strip. It's where it all began, when it comes to gambling, booze and broads... and spontaneous brides... When Scott and I traveled to Las Vegas to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, we already knew we'd be headed to downtown Las Vegas for a renewal of vows ceremony at the Graceland Wedding Chapel with Las Vegas Elvis. But it was Scott's brother, Stephen Conklin, who lives in Las Vegas, who suggested we also experience the historic downtown at night. Can't deny the suggestion of a local! So on Anniversary Eve, he whisked us away from The Strip for a fun night out around Fremont Street. We started with dinner at Oscar's Steakhouse in the Plaza Hotel. The r...
Rev. In Jin Moon's Lovin' Life Ministries Sermon, Dec. 5, 2010 Good morning, brothers and sisters. How is everyone? It’s been a while since I’ve seen you. We spent a lovely Thanksgiving weekend with our True Parents in Las Vegas, and we got to meet our West Coast members once again. Our True Father gave his heart in addressing those who attended the World Assembly 2010. Father’s heart as the True Parent of humankind is to invest in his children, his eternal sons and daughters, so they can truly become great men and women of God. I’m realizing this as Father visits us more and more often, especially in Las Vegas. I told the congregation there that I’ve often wondered, why Las Vegas? Of course Father wants to turn Sin City into a shining city on a hill by injecting a little bit of he...
