2018 Lincoln Navigator Revealed!
The onetime king of bling seeks to retake the throne.
It may be hard to remember now, but the Lincoln Navigator is one of the key vehicles that kicked off the whole trend of max-glitz SUVs. The Navigator soon was overtaken in the public consciousness by the Cadillac Escalade, but now there’s a new Navigator that could allow Lincoln to claim a greater hold on the category it created and, potentially, elevate the standing of the Lincoln brand in the process.
Like its more plebeian sibling, the 2018 Ford Expedition, the Navigator moves to an aluminum-intensive body while still retaining body-on-frame construction. Lincoln claims the big SUV has dropped nearly 200 pounds, but given that the last Navigator we tested crushed the scales to the tune of 6361 pounds, that means the new model is still likely to crest three tons.
The Navigator might have lost weight, but the new version—once again offered in standard and longer L body styles—grows slightly larger. Three years ago, the Navigator dropped its V-8 engine in favor of a turbocharged, direct-injected 3.5-liter V-6, and it retains that engine configuration, with Lincoln estimating output for the 2018 model’s revised V-6 at 450 horsepower (up from 380) and 500 lb-ft of torque (versus 460)—yes, that’s as much power and nearly as much torque as in the Ford F-150 Raptor. The output is shunted through a new 10-speed automatic, and rear- or all-wheel drive are available.

The imposing machine hews closely to the design of the Navigator concept that was unveiled at the New York auto show one year ago, with its turbine-style wheels and intricate chrome grille. The Lincoln emblem in the center of the grille glows as the driver approaches, part of a multistage welcome sequence that also illuminates bulbs in the lower fascia, taillights, and puddle lights. More substantively, the new Navigator features adaptive headlights that vary their light pattern based on the vehicle’s speed—throwing a wider beam of light at lower speeds and a narrower one at higher speeds. Inside, there’s ambient lighting in all three rows.
Be Seated
Like the Continental, the Navigator offers front passengers Lincoln’s optional new 30-way-adjustable Perfect Position Seats with heating, cooling, and massage functions. In the second row there’s a choice of a three-person bench or two captain’s chairs. The latter offer a tilt-forward capability that allows access into the third row even with an (unoccupied) child seat in place. The third-row seats feature power recline.
The rear-seat entertainment system provides dual 10.0-inch screens on the front seatbacks and can play media streamed wirelessly from paired Android devices. Sling Media subscribers can receive TV channels on the same system. The Navigator also comes with Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity, six USB ports (two per row), four 12-volt power sources, a 110-volt AC outlet, and a wireless device charger. The top-tier stereo is a 20-speaker Revel II system.
For the driver, there’s Sync 3 with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a 12.0-inch virtual instrument cluster, and an optional head-up display. Available assist features include a 360-degree-view camera, Ford’s Trailer Backup Assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability.
Lincoln’s Black Label comes to the Navigator as the top trim level and brings with it a collection of special interior-design themes—as well as various owner services. We’ll see whether all this is enough to raise the profile of Lincoln’s flagship once the vehicle goes on sale this fall.

After 10 long years riding on the same platform, Lincoln finally gives its oldest model the full redesign it needs to do battle with the Cadillac Escalade, Infiniti QX80, and Mercedes-Benz GLS. Navigator
A navigator is the person on board a ship or aircraft responsible for its navigation. The navigator's primary responsibility is to be aware of ship or aircraft position at all times. Responsibilities include planning the journey, advising the ship's captain or aircraft commander of estimated timing to destinations while en route, and ensuring hazards are avoided. The navigator is in charge of maintaining the aircraft or ship's nautical charts, nautical publications, and navigational equipment, and generally has responsibility for meteorological equipment and communications.
With the advent of GPS, the effort required to accurately determine one's position has decreased by orders of magnitude, so the entire experienced a revolutionary transition since the 1990s with traditional navigation tasks being phased out. The U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy, for instance, no longer teach aviators how to do celestial navigation.
In naval occupations
Shipborne navigators in the U.S. Navy are normally surface warfare officer qualified with the exception of naval aviators and naval flight officers assigned to ship's navigator billets aboard aircraft carriers and large deck amphibious assault ships and who have been qualified at a level equal to surface warfare officers. U.S. Coast Guard officers that are shipboard navigators are normally cutter qualified at a level analogous to the USN officers previously mentioned. Quartermasters are the navigator's enlisted assistants and perform most of the technical navigation duties.

Lincoln Navigator
The Lincoln Navigator is a full-size luxury SUV built by Lincoln. Introduced as a 1998 model, production began May 14, 1997 with sales beginning in August. The Navigator was Lincoln's first SUV as well as its first four-wheel drive capable vehicle. The Navigator shares its platform, mechanical features, and other equipment with the Ford Expedition, which was introduced a year earlier. Unique and upscale styling, interior materials, and other features differ the Navigator from the Expedition. Given its platform mate, the Navigator is the largest vehicle Lincoln currently offers, having the greatest cargo capacity and seating for seven to eight people, depending on the model. In 2007, a longer, extended wheelbase version of the Navigator called the Navigator L was introduced, increasing cargo capacity further. Since its introduction, Lincoln has offered only one engine choice at a time in the Navigator in any model year.
In spite of a base manufacturer's suggested retail price of $40,000 in 1998, the Navigator proved to be popular with nearly 44,000 sold in its first full year on the market. Competitors from General Motors like the Cadillac Escalade and the GMC Yukon Denali quickly followed to cash in on Lincoln's success with the Navigator. Much like the Cadillac Escalade would do, the Navigator found a niche with celebrities and the customized SUV scene.

Buster Keaton
Joseph Frank "Buster" Keaton (October 4, 1895 – February 1, 1966) was an American actor, director, producer, writer, and stunt performer. He was best known for his silent films, in which his trademark was physical comedy with a consistently stoic, deadpan expression, earning him the nickname "The Great Stone Face". Keaton was recognized as the seventh-greatest film director by Entertainment Weekly. In 1999, the American Film Institute ranked Keaton the 21st greatest male star of Classic Hollywood Cinema. Critic Roger Ebert wrote of Keaton's "extraordinary period from 1920 to 1929, [when] he worked without interruption on a series of films that make him, arguably, the greatest actor-director in the history of the movies". His career declined afterward with a dispiriting loss of his artistic independence when he was hired by MGM, which resulted in a crippling alcoholism that ruined his family life. He recovered in the 1940s, remarried, and revived his career to a degree as an honored comic performer for the rest of his life, earning an Academy Honorary Award in 1959.

Trevor writes half the formula on a piece of parchment and the other half on a flexible metal band which he places on Jan's wrist. Jan and his chimpanzee playmate wander into a menagerie on the post and his mother loses her life protecting him against a lion. Trevor is knocked unconscious, and the chimpanzee leads Jan into the jungle. Bracken and Phillips, believing Trevor is dead, head back to the U.S.A. They return fifteen years later, find the parchment half of the formula and lead a safari on a search for a boy named Jan who has been raised by the jungle animals.

Like its more plebeian sibling, the 2018 Ford Expedition, the Navigator moves to an aluminum-intensive body while still retaining body-on-frame construction. Lincoln claims the big SUV has dropped nearly 200 pounds, but given that the last Navigator we tested crushed the scales to the tune of 6361 pounds, that means the new model is still likely to crest three tons.
The Navigator might have lost weight, but the new version—once again offered in standard and longer L body styles—grows slightly larger. Three years ago, the Navigator dropped its V-8 engine in favor of a turbocharged, direct-injected 3.5-liter V-6, and it retains that engine configuration, with Lincoln estimating output for the 2018 model’s revised V-6 at 450 horsepower (up from 380) and 500 lb-ft of torque (versus 460)—yes, that’s as much power and nearly as much torque as in the Ford F-150 Raptor. The output is shunted through a new 10-speed automatic, and rear- or all-wheel drive are available.

The imposing machine hews closely to the design of the Navigator concept that was unveiled at the New York auto show one year ago, with its turbine-style wheels and intricate chrome grille. The Lincoln emblem in the center of the grille glows as the driver approaches, part of a multistage welcome sequence that also illuminates bulbs in the lower fascia, taillights, and puddle lights. More substantively, the new Navigator features adaptive headlights that vary their light pattern based on the vehicle’s speed—throwing a wider beam of light at lower speeds and a narrower one at higher speeds. Inside, there’s ambient lighting in all three rows.
Be Seated
Like the Continental, the Navigator offers front passengers Lincoln’s optional new 30-way-adjustable Perfect Position Seats with heating, cooling, and massage functions. In the second row there’s a choice of a three-person bench or two captain’s chairs. The latter offer a tilt-forward capability that allows access into the third row even with an (unoccupied) child seat in place. The third-row seats feature power recline.
The rear-seat entertainment system provides dual 10.0-inch screens on the front seatbacks and can play media streamed wirelessly from paired Android devices. Sling Media subscribers can receive TV channels on the same system. The Navigator also comes with Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity, six USB ports (two per row), four 12-volt power sources, a 110-volt AC outlet, and a wireless device charger. The top-tier stereo is a 20-speaker Revel II system.
For the driver, there’s Sync 3 with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a 12.0-inch virtual instrument cluster, and an optional head-up display. Available assist features include a 360-degree-view camera, Ford’s Trailer Backup Assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability.
Lincoln’s Black Label comes to the Navigator as the top trim level and brings with it a collection of special interior-design themes—as well as various owner services. We’ll see whether all this is enough to raise the profile of Lincoln’s flagship once the vehicle goes on sale this fall.

After watching twenty-nine Buster Keaton films, I was struck by his use of symmetry and center framing. This is an attempt to capture that. Before Stanley Kubrick and Wes Anderson made it famous for modern audiences, there was Buster Keaton.

Navigator - Ragga tonsèh
Abraham Makolé alias Navigator, sortira dans les prochains jours un album intitulé « Ragga Tonsèh », un produit de 14 titres dans un genre musical Dance Hall. Navigator a été découvert dans les ghettos de la banlieue de Kipé dans la commune de Ratoma, par ‘’EMI’’ de la structure Lorombo Production. Il fut choriste dans une église, plus tard il se lança dans la musique urbaine à savoir le Dance Hall où il excelle le mieux. Fils de Jean Makolé des Ballets Africains, Navigator tire son inspiration des chanteurs comme Hamid Chanana, Penny-Penny de l’Afrique du Sud, et le Jamaïcain Buju Banton.

It may be hard to remember now, but the Lincoln Navigator is one of the key vehicles that kicked off the whole trend of max-glitz SUVs. The Navigator soon was overtaken in the public consciousness by the Cadillac Escalade, but now there’s a new Navigator that could allow Lincoln to claim a greater hold on the category it created and, potentially, elevate the standing of the Lincoln brand in the process.
Like its more plebeian sibling, the 2018 Ford Expedition, the Navigator moves to an aluminum-intensive body while still retaining body-on-frame construction. Lincoln claims the big SUV has dropped nearly 200 pounds, but given that the last Navigator we tested crushed the scales to the tune of 6361 pounds, that means the new model is still likely to crest three tons.
The Navigator might have lost weight, but the new version—once again offered in standard and longer L body styles—grows slightly larger. Three years ago, the Navigator dropped its V-8 engine in favor of a turbocharged, direct-injected 3.5-liter V-6, and it retains that engine configuration, with Lincoln estimating output for the 2018 model’s revised V-6 at 450 horsepower (up from 380) and 500 lb-ft of torque (versus 460)—yes, that’s as much power and nearly as much torque as in the Ford F-150 Raptor. The output is shunted through a new 10-speed automatic, and rear- or all-wheel drive are available.
See the Light
The imposing machine hews closely to the design of the Navigator concept that was unveiled at the New York auto show one year ago, with its turbine-style wheels and intricate chrome grille. The Lincoln emblem in the center of the grille glows as the driver approaches, part of a multistage welcome sequence that also illuminates bulbs in the lower fascia, taillights, and puddle lights. More substantively, the new Navigator features adaptive headlights that vary their light pattern based on the vehicle’s speed—throwing a wider beam of light at lower speeds and a narrower one at higher speeds. Inside, there’s ambient lighting in all three rows.
Be Seated
Like the Continental, the Navigator offers front passengers Lincoln’s optional new 30-way-adjustable Perfect Position Seats with heating, cooling, and massage functions. In the second row there’s a choice of a three-person bench or two captain’s chairs. The latter offer a tilt-forward capability that allows access into the third row even with an (unoccupied) child seat in place. The third-row seats feature power recline.
The rear-seat entertainment system provides dual 10.0-inch screens on the front seatbacks and can play media streamed wirelessly from paired Android devices. Sling Media subscribers can receive TV channels on the same system. The Navigator also comes with Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity, six USB ports (two per row), four 12-volt power sources, a 110-volt AC outlet, and a wireless device charger. The top-tier stereo is a 20-speaker Revel II system.
For the driver, there’s Sync 3 with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a 12.0-inch virtual instrument cluster, and an optional head-up display. Available assist features include a 360-degree-view camera, Ford’s Trailer Backup Assist, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability.
Lincoln’s Black Label comes to the Navigator as the top trim level and brings with it a collection of special interior-design themes—as well as various owner services. We’ll see whether all this is enough to raise the profile of Lincoln’s flagship once the vehicle goes on sale this fall.

Harold Lloyd made us laugh as much, Charlie Chaplin moved us more deeply, but no one had more courage than Buster. I define courage as Hemingway did: grace under pressure.
