This time last month we were lucky enough to be in the wonderful setting of the Mayan Riviera in Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula for BPM Festival. The 10-day musical extravaganza of day and night parties well and truly set the bar for international dance music festivals in 2014 and we threw one of the dopest events of the entire week. The three Parisian Kings: Dan Ghenacia, Dyed Soundorom and Shonky make up the irresistible sound that is Apollonia and we were thrilled to have them headline our BPM Party in the intimate Fusion Beach Club. Apollonia are a trio that is without question at the top of their game. Their energy, track selection and sheer groove is unrivalled and you can check out this genuine house masterclass laced with babes, beach antics and an all-star DJ entorage below. You can catch Apollonia at London's Fabric on March 1 tickets to which can be found here as well as at the Lola Ed Showcase at Treehouse and ENTER Miami at Ice Palace on March 24 and March 26 respectively.

The Lab LDN is Mixmag and Smirnoff Sound Collective's weekly live stream, powered by Void Acoustics, where we showcase the finest DJs direct from our world famous office party and this week we welcome Apollonia to The Lab LDN.
Former Mixmag cover stars Dan Ghenacia, Shonky and Dyed Soundorom were already highly respected globe-conquering DJs before their spontaneous back to back sets at clubs like DC10, Fabric and Panorama Bar led them to pool their talents into Apollonia.
To cut a long story short, Dan Ghenacia ran notorious afterparties in Paris and his massively respected label Freak N' Chic. Shonky had his first release on the label in 2005. All the while Dyed Soundorom was making a name for himself with incredible sets and releases like the (still) impeccable 'Question' (also on Freak 'n' Chic). They found themselves playing together more and more often and out of that Apollonia was born.
This will be their third appearance on Mixmag TV: we filmed them two years ago at BPM festival in Mexico and at Syncrophone Records, Paris for their 100% Vinyl set. Dan and Dyed have also done Lab sets a few years ago, but all three together, armed with the freshest tech-house and retro Christmas jumpers promises to be one of our most riotous office parties to date.

Where Are They Now
"Where Are They Now" is a song recorded by English Oi!/punk rock band Cock Sparrer in 1982, from their album Shock Troops. The lyrics comment on the previous six years of the punk subculture. The song portrays the early years of the punk movement in a negative light, bemoaning the lack of follow-through by the leading figures. It also comments on the band members' own naivete, exhorting listeners to not make the same idealistic mistakes. Its lyrics mention several punk legends. In an interview with the fanzine Schizoipunx from July 27, 2006, Mickey Beaufoy of Cock Sparrer stated:
The lyrics "Rotten on the telly, showing what a few choice words can do" refer to the Sex Pistols' lead singer Johnny Rotten and the Grundy incident, in which Rotten and other Sex Pistols swore on live television, sending Britain into an uproar.
The song has been covered and recorded by Swingin Utters, Strike Anywhere, Roger Miret And The Disasters and also, in their own language, the Spanish band La Polla Records and the German band Beck's Pistols.

Oprah Winfrey
Oprah Gail Winfrey, born January 29, 1954, is an American media proprietor, talk show host, actress, producer, and philanthropist. She is best known for her talk show The Oprah Winfrey Show, which was the highest-rated program of its kind in history and was nationally syndicated from 1986 to 2011. Dubbed the "Queen of All Media", she has been ranked the richest African-American of the 20th century, the greatest black philanthropist in American history, and is now North America's first and only multi-billionaire Black. Several assessments regard her as the most influential woman in the world. In 2013, she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Barack Obama and honorary doctorate degrees from Duke and Harvard.
Winfrey was born into poverty in rural Mississippi to a teenage single mother and later raised in an inner-city Milwaukee neighborhood. She has stated that she was molested during her childhood and early teens and became pregnant at 14; her son died in infancy. Sent to live with the man she calls her father, a barber in Tennessee, Winfrey landed a job in radio while still in high school and began co-anchoring the local evening news at the age of 19. Her emotional ad-lib delivery eventually got her transferred to the daytime-talk-show arena, and after boosting a third-rated local Chicago talk show to first place, she launched her own production company and became internationally syndicated.

But with Mark Ortiz a seasoned Biker who helped get them into film this really makes a good comical wild ride thats similar to the Original Warriors in some ways. Former Mixmag cover stars Dan Ghenacia, Shonky and Dyed Soundorom were already highly respected globe-conquering DJs before their spontaneous back to back sets at clubs like DC10, Fabric and Panorama Bar led them to pool their talents into Apollonia.
To cut a long story short, Dan Ghenacia ran notorious afterparties in Paris and his massively respected label Freak N' Chic. Shonky had his first release on the label in 2005. All the while Dyed Soundorom was making a name for himself with incredible sets and releases like the (still) impeccable 'Question' (also on Freak 'n' Chic). They found themselves playing together more and more often and out of that Apollonia was born.
This will be their third appearance on Mixmag TV: we filmed them two years ago at BPM festival in Mexico and at Syncrophone Records, Paris for their 100% Vinyl set. Dan and Dyed have also done Lab sets a few years ago, but all three together, armed with the freshest tech-house and retro Christmas jumpers promises to be one of our most riotous office parties to date.
