An electrical cable is made of two or more wires running side by side and bonded, twisted, or braided together to form a single assembly, the ends of which can be connected to two devices, enabling the transfer of electrical signals from one device to the other. Cables are used for a wide range of purposes, and each must be tailored for that purpose. Cables are used extensively in electronic devices for power and signal circuits. Long-distance communication takes place over undersea cables. Power cables are used for bulk transmission of alternating and direct current power, especially using high-voltage cable. Electrical cables are extensively used in building wiring for lighting, power and control circuits permanently installed in buildings. Since all the circuit conductors required can be installed in a cable at one time, installation labor is saved compared to certain other wiring methods.
The term originally referred to a nautical line of specific length where multiple ropes, each laid clockwise, are then laid together anti-clockwise and shackled to produce a strong thick line, resistant to water absorption, that was used to anchor large ships. In mechanics, cables, otherwise known as wire ropes, are used for lifting, hauling, and towing or conveying force through tension. In electrical engineering cables are used to carry electric currents. An optical cable contains one or more optical fibers in a protective jacket that supports the fibers.
Clip or CLIP may refer to:
Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) (chemical formula (C8H8)x· (C4H6)y·(C3H3N)z) is a common thermoplastic polymer. Its glass transition temperature is approximately 105 °C (221 °F). ABS is amorphous and therefore has no true melting point.
ABS is a terpolymer made by polymerizing styrene and acrylonitrile in the presence of polybutadiene. The proportions can vary from 15 to 35% acrylonitrile, 5 to 30% butadiene and 40 to 60% styrene. The result is a long chain of polybutadiene criss-crossed with shorter chains of poly(styrene-co-acrylonitrile). The nitrile groups from neighboring chains, being polar, attract each other and bind the chains together, making ABS stronger than pure polystyrene. The styrene gives the plastic a shiny, impervious surface. The polybutadiene, a rubbery substance, provides toughness even at low temperatures. For the majority of applications, ABS can be used between −20 and 80 °C (−4 and 176 °F) as its mechanical properties vary with temperature. The properties are created by rubber toughening, where fine particles of elastomer are distributed throughout the rigid matrix.

In this video I replace a Teleflex / SeaStar steering cable and helm. This involves removing the old cable, removing the steering wheel and helm and installing the new ones. This can be quite a simple job or a bit tricky depending on the shape of the hull and how corroded the old steering is. It is definitely something you can do yourself though using only simple hand tools. Each cable type has a different licking mechanism, either an R clip or a strew that how the spiral section in the helm.

I was kind of on the fence about uploading 50+ minutes of the old Electronic Program Guide scroll. It was the radio broadcast in the background that got me to post the whole thing--I guess the idea is to leave this video on in the background while doing other things. Let me note that actively watching all 50+ minutes (like I did) can cause severe brain damage. Don't be stupid like me, watch responsibly. Whoever recorded this obviously intended to tape the Pay-Per-View movie they had ordered. But (thankfully), instead of doing a timer recording, they just popped a tape in, hit record and went to bed, hence this lengthy clip. As for how we arrived at the EPG, the cable company automatically booted you there after your movie. For what it's worth, nothing new happens with the EPG after a...
Much clearer, step-by-step and very accessible video, with easy to copy hints - good stereo microscope or equivalent still required. A lot easier to do than video, so long as great care and patience is exercised. Save those redundant and/or torn ribbon cables to practise on. ****UPDATE: 11 Aug 2016****: At 2:50 I state that "You CANNOT BUTT-JOIN two halves with solder.........."; just recently I repaired another split cable and didn't need any wire "stitching" due ( presumably ) to keeping the soldering iron to a lower temperature where the solder doesn't flow so easily; so WAS able to BUTT-JOIN !!

Hi, this video shows you how to REPAIR or EXTEND a cat5e or cat6 SOLID core Ethernet cable. Using a simple junction box you can now repair your cable instead of replacing it which is ideal if it is a very long inaccessible cable. You will not be able to repair or extend stranded core cables as the junction box uses IDC terminals which are designed only for solid core cables. Many thanks Vince

A video of how to repair those flexible printed circuit type flat cables called flex cable that you see used a lot in small consumer electronic devices like camcorders and cameras. This one was in a Panasonic HDC-SD60 camcorder. It takes a lot of patience and some time but it is possible. Now I've got my camcorder working again! Buy a solder sucker here, in USA: http://amzn.to/28SDPYK or in UK here: http://amzn.to/28OJhbh You'll also find people selling soldering irons and solder that are also required for this job, let me know if you need more specific links. Just searching for those names should give you a lot of sellers. For instance here is the soldering iron station I used: http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-534... Can't find a replacement for that torn ribbon cable; don't want to pay for a new one - solder splice the two bits - did you save them ? PLEASE NOTE: In the making of this video my efforts were necessarily clumsy because I could not take advantage of any magnification directly, especially using the microscope; I had to concentrate on aligning the cam to get a picture, so I was constrained to watching the screen of the VCR, it being too low resolution for productive effort. I would like to have used an eyepiece adaptor that fits both the camcorder and the 'scope; then I should have been able to peer through the other eyepiece. So be assured it is a great deal easier than I make it look here. I have to admit that relatively few people have access to a stereo microscope; I paid around £180 ( ...

Originally aired March 28, 2012 on BBC Two. In the second of two programmes about American diplomacy and the leaked US embassy cables, Richard Bilton examines what the cables reveal about how America handles its enemies and rivals.
With my RCN cable internet. How I had repeated problems with a connection outside my house. How they were negligent and lax in their communication and handling of the problem, leaving me without service without any warning. How the technician and then the office as well lied about the cause, potentially leaving me with fraudulent and unjustified charges on my bill. They made every excuse possible about how they were not negligent and how I was lucky to get a 90 dollar credit for lost service, hours on the phone, aggravation etc for a problem that now has repeated itself after 2 years and would probably occur again if I kept service. My feeling is, that with anything, the behavior and activity will never improve unless the motivation or punishment is there to induce the change. That is ...

Filmed and Edited by: http://ishootnyc.com Earlier this year, Kanye West and Sway made headlines when Ye proclaimed that he gave Sway his first TV. For the first time since the incident in March, the two hip hop heads talk in person. Their interview began with Sway expressing his appreciation for Kanye's Yeezus tour. "My demo is the Yeezus tour." Says Ye. "Pure creativity... The Yeezus tour is more of a film, or broadway or play idea, Watch the Throne is more of a Rap idea." Ye then began to discuss his production inspiration from greats like Diamond D & Showbiz. From discussions of DONDA, to fashion, to the status of his Red Octobers, West passionately says... "I am the #1 most impactful artist of our generation. I am Shakespeare in the flesh. Walt Disney. Nike. Google... Do you wan...
