Flowers in the Attic is a 1979 novel by V. C. Andrews. It is the first book in the Dollanganger Series, and was followed by Petals on the Wind, If There Be Thorns, Seeds of Yesterday, and Garden of Shadows. The novel is written in the first person from the point of view of Cathy Dollanganger. It was twice adapted into films in 1987 and 2014. The book was extremely popular, selling over 40 million copies worldwide.
In 1957, the Dollanganger family lives an idyllic life in Gladstone, Pennsylvania. The family consists of 12-year-old Cathy, 14-year-old Chris, 5-year-old twins Carrie and Cory, and their parents Christopher and Corrine. When Christopher dies in a car accident, the family is left deep in debt. Facing financial destitution, Corrine decides to move with the children to her estranged, wealthy parents' home, Foxworth Hall, in Virginia. Corrine explains to them that she has been estranged from her parents because of something she did which her parents disapproved of when she was 18. She further explains that their true family name is Foxworth not Dollanganger. Upon arrival at Foxworth Hall at dawn, Corrine's mother, Olivia, sneaks the family into a small bedroom that connects to the attic and insists the children must be hidden from their grandfather, Malcolm. Olivia treats the children with disdain and threatens to severely punish them for any disobedience. Corrine meets with her father, and when she returns to the children, she has been savagely whipped by Olivia, who then tells the children that their parents were half-uncle and niece. Corrine confirms this and explains her plan to win back her father's love so she can introduce the children to him.

A flower, sometimes known as a bloom or blossom, is the reproductive structure found in flowering plants (plants of the division Magnoliophyta, also called angiosperms). The biological function of a flower is to effect reproduction, usually by providing a mechanism for the union of sperm with eggs. Flowers may facilitate outcrossing (fusion of sperm and eggs from different individuals in a population) or allow selfing (fusion of sperm and egg from the same flower). Some flowers produce diaspores without fertilization (parthenocarpy). Flowers contain sporangia and are the site where gametophytes develop. Flowers give rise to fruit and seeds. Many flowers have evolved to be attractive to animals, so as to cause them to be vectors for the transfer of pollen.
In addition to facilitating the reproduction of flowering plants, flowers have long been admired and used by humans to beautify their environment, and also as objects of romance, ritual, religion, medicine and as a source of food.
"And I" is a song written by American R&B singer Ciara, and produced by Adonis Shropshire for Ciara's first album, Goodies (2004). It was released as the album's fourth and final single on August 30, 2005 (see 2005 in music) in North America.
The song was originally the third choice for the fourth single. Ciara has mentioned in an interview that "Thug Style", "Hotline" or "Pick up the Phone" would be the fourth single, but when Ciara suggested "And I" to executives at her previous record label LaFace, they were unhappy because they wanted "Next to You" to be the fourth single.
At the time of the U.S. release of "And I", Ciara's collaboration with Bow Wow, "Like You", and her collaboration with Missy Elliott, "Lose Control", were at the height of their popularity. "And I" peaked at 96 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and 27 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart, which were poor positions compared to those attained by the first three singles from the album Goodies. It was not released outside North America because of this, and it is Ciara's least successful single.

When we heard that Lifetime was adapting V.C Andrews' 1979 novel, Flowers in the Attic, for the screen, we were a little shocked. It's sort of like remaking The Godfather or RoboCop—if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The original 1987 film version, written and directed by Jeffery Bloom, who also directed three episodes of Columbo, is a tour de force of high camp. With all due respect to Heather Graham, who plays Corrine Dollanganger in Lifetime's reboot, nothing will ever quite live up to Victoria Tennant's comically overwrought performance in the original. A new generation of hate-watchers are sure to be introduced to this dirty, dirty story of incest and abuse when Lifetime's version airs this Saturday at 8 p.m. Sadly, most of them will never have experienced the pure joy of the 1987 mast...

All Rights Reserved to Disney. This is the original scene with the original music (composed by Alan Menken, written by Glenn Slater, and sung by Mandy Moore) from Tangled. I own nothing. As far as I can tell Disney has yet to release singalong versions of any songs from Tangled except "I See the Light" and "I've Got a Dream" so I am posting these to try to fill that void.

Someone in "The Attic",
Building a strange machine.
Never really see him,
But I think he works all day.
Blinded by the world outside,
I stay inside.
Hardly know my name,
But it's getting better by time.
I saw something in the mirror,
Someone's watching me.
If I hide in "The Attic",
I will never get to me.
I found some rope on the floor.
I have to build a trap.
So I start on my machine,
