Ronald Bass (born March 26, 1942), sometimes credited as Ron Bass, is an American screenwriter. Also a film producer, Bass's work is characterized as being highly in demand, and he is thought to be among the most highly paid writers in Hollywood. He is often called the "King of the Pitches". In 1988, he received the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for Rain Man, and films that Bass is associated with are regularly nominated for multiple motion picture awards.
Bass was born in Los Angeles, California. From the age of 3 to 11, Bass was afflicted with an undiagnosed condition that kept him bedridden. His symptoms included respiratory problems and stomach pains with high fevers and nausea. It was during this illness, at age six, that Bass is said to have started writing.
During his teens, Bass began work on a novel, which he entitled Voleur. He completed this work at age 17 and showed it to his English teacher. He took her critique of his first completed project quite hard. She described the writing as very good, but she felt that it was too personal to be published. Bass's response was to later burn his manuscript. Later in life, Bass recalled "it was like the voice of God telling me I didn't have what it takes to be a writer, and I should find something practical to do with my life". Bass would revisit his teenage writings later in life.

Ronald "Ron" Heard (born December 21, 1948) is a former American professional wrestler, best known under the name Ron Bass. His gimmick was a Texan cowboy who entered World Wrestling Federation (WWF) rings to the sound of a bullwhip.
Herd started wrestling as Ron Bass in 1975. Throughout the 1970s, he performed primarily in National Wrestling Alliance territories. He was known as "Cowboy" Ron Bass, Sam Oliver Bass, and "Outlaw" Ron Bass, depending on which territory he was working at the time.
In the early 1980s, he wrestled in Florida Championship Wrestling and Jim Crockett Promotions, frequently teaming with Black Bart as The Long Riders in both promotions. He also teamed and feuded with Barry Windham in Florida. Bass' feud with Barry Windham (over a saddle given to Bass by Dusty Rhodes) led to Windham losing a "loser-leaves-town" match to Bass and coming back to wrestle as the masked "Dirty Yellow Dog."
Barry Clinton Windham (born July 4, 1960) is an American semi-retired professional wrestler and the son of wrestler Blackjack Mulligan. He is best known for his appearances with the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW).
In NWA/WCW, he was a one-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, a one-time United States Heavyweight Champion, a one-time Television Champion, a one-time Western States Heritage Champion, a four-time NWA (Mid Atlantic)/WCW World Tag Team Champion and a one-time NWA United States Tag Team Champion with Ron Garvin. In the WWF, he was a two-time World Tag Team Champion with his brother-in-law, Mike Rotunda. On March 31, 2012, Windham was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as a member of the Four Horsemen.
Windham was trained by his father Blackjack Mulligan and popular world champion Harley Race. He debuted on November 27, 1979 against J.J. Dillion in Odessa, Texas when he was 19 years old. Much of his early career was in the NWA's Championship Wrestling from Florida territory where Gordon Solie was the head announcer. He was a fan favorite for most of the early and middle periods of his career, having great success in singles and tag action. Windham had notable feuds with Kevin Sullivan and his army. With his brother-in-law Mike Rotunda, Windham formed a tag team in 1984. The duo captured the NWA Florida United States Tag Team Championship three times between March and May 1984.
Edward Harrison "Ed" Leslie (born April 21, 1957) is an American professional wrestler, best known for his work in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) under the ring name Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake. He later worked for World Championship Wrestling (WCW) under a variety of names.
Leslie held nine titles throughout his career, and is a former WWF World Tag Team Champion with Greg Valentine. He also sporadically competed for major singles titles on pay-per-view and television, headlining the 1994 edition of WCW's premier annual event, Starrcade, in a match against then-WCW World Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan.
Edward Leslie began his career at the side of Terry Bollea in 1977. At the time, the two were billed as brothers. Leslie was Ed Boulder when Bollea wrestled as "Terry Boulder", and Dizzy Hogan when Bollea became "Hulk Hogan". In later years this created confusion among fans, many of whom actually believed that Leslie and Bollea were real life brothers.
Championship Wrestling from Florida-Summer 1983. NWA World Heavyweight Championship. Dusty Rhodes (challenger) vs Harley Race (champion). Ron Bass is special referee. Since his arrival in Florida, Ron Bass had been a popular babyface often teaming with Dusty and Barry Windham and feuding with Angelo Mosca. Shortly after Bass' turn, J.J. Dillon became his "exclusive" manager and together they had a successful run in Florida.

It's been about a couple of days gone by
When I last saw you
When you said bye-bye
Then you walked away and left me alone
All get is a dial tone
When I call your phone
Occasionally I'll roll about your way
I thought about the words that I could say
But you ain't trying to feel me
You don't even wanna' heal me
Is it my turn to cry over you?
'Cos no matter what I do
Those rainy days won't leave me alone
What kind of love leaves you feeling cold
All alone with nobody to hold
Don't wanna' feel like I did that day
Let the Rain wash the pain away
Sometimes I think I hear you call my name
Sometimes it's just my mind playing games
But nothings changed
It's still all the same
Let the Rain wash the pain away
See your picture all up in a magazine
With some other cat I've never seen
You was looking more beautiful then you've ever been
Here come those lonely feelings again
I must be tripping on myself
'Cos the fact that you're with somebody else
It's getting me down
Girl, I can't deny
I guess this is what it sounds like
When the doves cry
Did you choose girl or do it for him?
'Cos no matter what I do
Those rainy days won't leave me alone
