Global means of or referring to a globe and may also refer to:
An investor allocates capital with the expectation of a future financial return. Types of investments include: equity, debt securities, real estate, currency, commodity, derivatives such as put and call options, etc. This definition makes no distinction between those in the primary and secondary markets. That is, someone who provides a business with capital and someone who buys a stock are both investors. An investor who owns a stock is a shareholder.
The assumption of risk in anticipation of gain but recognizing a higher than average possibility of loss. The term "speculation" implies that a business or investment risk can be analyzed and measured, and its distinction from the term "investment" is one of degree of risk. It differs from gambling, which is based on random outcomes.
Investors can include stock traders but with this distinguishing characteristic: investors are owners of a company which entails responsibilities.
There are two types of investors, retail investors and institutional investors:
Law is a system of rules that are enforced through social institutions to govern behavior. Laws can be made by a collective legislature or by a single legislator, resulting in statutes, by the executive through decrees and regulations, or by judges through binding precedent, normally in common law jurisdictions. Private individuals can create legally binding contracts, including arbitration agreements that may elect to accept alternative arbitration to the normal court process. The formation of laws themselves may be influenced by a constitution, written or tacit, and the rights encoded therein. The law shapes politics, economics, history and society in various ways and serves as a mediator of relations between people.
A general distinction can be made between (a) civil law jurisdictions (including Catholic canon law and socialist law), in which the legislature or other central body codifies and consolidates their laws, and (b) common law systems, where judge-made precedent is accepted as binding law. Historically, religious laws played a significant role even in settling of secular matters, which is still the case in some religious communities, particularly Jewish, and some countries, particularly Islamic. Islamic Sharia law is the world's most widely used religious law.
Real estate is "property consisting of land and the buildings on it, along with its natural resources such as crops, minerals, or water; immovable property of this nature; an interest vested in this (also) an item of real property; (more generally) buildings or housing in general. Also: the business of real estate; the profession of buying, selling, or renting land, buildings or housing."
It is a legal term used in jurisdictions such as the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, India, Australia, and New Zealand.
Residential real estate is a type of property, containing either a single family or multifamily structure, that is available for occupation for non-business purposes.
Residences can be classified by, if, and how they are connected to neighbouring residences and land. Different types of housing tenure can be used for the same physical type. For example, connected residents might be owned by a single entity and leased out, or owned separately with an agreement covering the relationship between units and common areas and concerns.
International law is the set of rules generally regarded and accepted as binding in relations between states and between nations. It serves as a framework for the practice of stable and organized international relations. International law differs from state-based legal systems in that it is primarily applicable to countries rather than to private citizens. National law may become international law when treaties delegate national jurisdiction to supranational tribunals such as the European Court of Human Rights or the International Criminal Court. Treaties such as the Geneva Conventions may require national law to conform to respective parts.
Much of international law is consent-based governance. This means that a state member is not obliged to abide by this type of international law, unless it has expressly consented to a particular course of conduct. This is an issue of state sovereignty. However, other aspects of international law are not consent-based but still are obligatory upon state and non-state actors such as customary international law and peremptory norms (jus cogens).

“I consider myself to be a farmer—not a hunter. And I think most people on Wall Street are hunters. They like to fell big beasts and I’m very comfortable planting a few rows and just tending to them carefully.” - Thomas Russo About the Talk Mr. Russo looks forward to describing how that in his pursuit of long-term tax-deferred investment returns that he has favored investments in businesses whose global brands are well-position companies for reinvestment of mature market free cash flow into developing and emerging markets. Mr. Russo’s businesses accordingly possess the “capacity to reinvest” and managements who have the “capacity to suffer” when investments properly intended for longest term increase in intrinsic value on a per share basis burden as they often do, reported earnings in the...

Mr. Parag Parikh participated in a intriguing panel discussion titled 'Does Value investing Work In India?' at the Morningstar 2014 Summit. He elaborates on why, in India, Warren Buffet's approach to investing trumps Benjamin Graham's approach, why exposure to international stocks is desirable, how the law of the farm is immutable, the similarity between value investing and gardening, etc. Other panelists also put forth points a few interesting points, such as : Value and growth are two sides of the same coin, value investing principles can and should be applied to all asset classes, how elegant investment theories often come a cropper in the real world, how the correlation between risk and return is not as linear as usually believed and how value traps can be avoided.

orward-thinking investors have long known of the risks associated not just with climate change but with related systemic risks to long-term prosperity such as water scarcity and inequality of opportunity. In response, France has introduced an Energy Transition Law that includes regulations requiring investors to align their portfolios with a 2°C world. Different global financial centres are now also bidding to become centres of green finance. Growing questions are now being asked about when Europe will get on the front foot and capitalise on this momentum. Actions seem ever more urgent, given that the European Systemic Risk Board and the Dutch Central Bank have both expressed concerns about the threat of climate change to financial stability in Europe. Furthermore, the G20 and Financial S...
