He's been filling in for Steve Kornacki since that former co-host of The Cycle was announced as Chris Hayes' MSNBC weekend show replacement, so it was no surprise when Ari Melber officially joined the team this afternoon. Melber received a warm welcome from The Cycle's three other co-hosts, who grilled him about his favorite hip hop albums and works of literature. He humbly paid tribute to his predecessor, saying "It's a big sweater to fill," referring to Kornacki's limited wardrobe. And the show debuted a new photo-shopped image of the four hosts as if they were actually laughing and joking together in the same place.

"Cenk Uygur (http://www.twitter.com/cenkuygur) host of The Young Turks discusses a public apology by MSNBC for some rather anti-muslim comments. 'Nothing says 'let's go kill some muslims' like Country music' is the comment that MSNBC is having to publicly apologize for. On air MSNBC host Ari Melber apologized for the off the cuff comment said during his 'Now w/ Alex Wagner' segment of his show. The comment was actually made by guest Jamilah Lemieux and in its full context the quote is more of a sarcastic jab at Sen. Ted Cruz and his recent statements that he became a Country music fan ever since 9/11." Should there have been an apology for the comment? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
