Criminology (from Latin crīmen, "accusation"; and Greek -λογία, -logia) is the scientific study of the nature, extent, management, causes, control, consequences, and prevention of criminal behavior, both on the individual and social levels. Criminology is an interdisciplinary field in both the behavioral and social sciences, drawing especially upon the research of sociologists, psychologists, psychiatrists, social anthropologists, as well as scholars of law.
The term criminology was coined in 1885 by Italian law professor Raffaele Garofalo as criminologia. Later, French anthropologist Paul Topinard used the analogous French term criminologie.
In the mid-18th century criminology arose as social philosophers gave thought to crime and concepts of law. Over time, several schools of thought have developed. There were three main schools of thought in early criminological theory spanning the period from the mid-18th century to the mid-twentieth century: Classical, Positive, and Chicago. These schools of thought were superseded by several contemporary paradigms of criminology, such as the sub-culture, control, strain, labeling, critical criminology, cultural criminology, postmodern criminology, feminist criminology and others discussed below.
West Midlands may refer to:
West Midlands Police is the territorial police force responsible for policing the metropolitan county of West Midlands in England.
Covering an area with nearly 2.9 million inhabitants, which includes the cities of Birmingham, Coventry, Wolverhampton and also the Black Country; the force is made up of 7,442 Police Officers, supported by 3,029 Police Staff, 527 Special Constables and 676 Police Community Support Officers (PCSO) - with these 11,147 employees, this makes it the second-largest force in England behind the Metropolitan Police and third-largest force in the United Kingdom after the aforementioned force and Police Scotland.
The force is currently led by Chief Constable Dave Thompson. The force area is divided into ten Local Policing Units (LPUs), each being served by four core policing teams - Response, Neighbourhood, Investigation and Community Action & Priority (CAPT) - with the support of a number of specialist crime teams. These specialist teams include CID, traffic and a firearms unit who provide a twenty four hour availability to attend reported incidents involving the use of firearms and knives.
The term 2.0 originated with software versioning and refers to the second version of a computer program or standards. The trend to apply it to concepts other than programs started with Web 2.0. In this extended use, it suggests a significantly improved edition of the original concept, in particular in being responsive and adaptive to the needs of its users.

This week we begin our study of criminology, a subfield of sociology. Criminology is not the same as criminal justice studies or penology or legal scholarship. What, then, is criminology? The question that follows -- what is crime? -- is even more complicated than the first. Someone decides what crime is: who and why?
For criminologists, the prevailing wisdom has been (and continues to be) that social factors are the most important predictors of criminal involvement. Biological influences in general, and genetic factors in particular, have been assumed to be irrelevant. Arguments to the contrary have been greeted with hostility and intensely resisted. Despite the resistance, a flood of research has very clearly suggested that virtually no behavior (crime included) escapes some degree of genetic influence. The continued refusal to grapple with this reality within criminology, however, jeopardizes our ability to truly understand what causes individuals to commit crime. To be direct, much of the prevailing wisdom of criminologists may need to be discarded entirely. Convinced that many of the prevailing...
Professor Gwen Adshead explores violence, offenders and the criminal personality through the perspective of psychology and psychiatry http://www.gresham.ac.uk/lectures-and-events/the-criminal-mind-the-relationships-between-criminology-and-psychology A discussion of how the study of psychology and psychiatry relates to the study of criminology. Historically criminals have been defined as a group who are seen as "other" to non-criminals. However, modern thinking has moved away from this with developments in the psychology of criminal rule-breaking and discussions of how individual psychology can assist the understanding of criminal rule-breaking and risk; including approaches to rehabilitation and behavioural change. Professor Adshead suggests that these different discourses have much to o...

"I told you a long time ago you fuckin' little monkey not to fuck me"
"Hey hey, who the fuck you think you going for huh?"
"Who the fuck you think I am, your fuckin' door boy?"
"You wanna go to war? Wanna go to war, okay?"
Comin' up on half a mil, we build
Get real God, taking you on another one son
Uhh, Julio Igleasias
Making cream like that nigga
Yo, first of all son, peep the arson
Many brothers I be sparkin' and bustin' mad light inside the dark
Call me dough snatcher, just the brother for the rapture
I hand glide, holdin' on strong, hard to capture
Extravagant, RZA bake the track and it's militant
Then I react, like a convict, and start killin' shit
It's manifested, the Gods work like appliances
Dealin' in my cypher I revolve around sciences
The 9th chamber, leave you trapped inside my hallway
You try to flee but you got smoked up by the doorway
No question, I send your ass back, right to the essence
Your whole frame is smothered in dirt, now how you restin'
While I'll be trapped by sounds, locked behind loops
Throwin' niggaz off airplanes 'cause cash rules
Everything around me black, as you can see
Swallow this murder one verse like God degree
Then analyze my soundtrack for satisfaction
You adapt like a flashback chain reaction
Just a minute son, AK's black bust back like seventy Macs
I'm all that, street niggaz knowin' my steez black
Ron G, you know he coincide with me see
Marvelous, Menace fo' society
But anyway, let's toast, champagne thoughts with ghost
I max the most shotguns through the nose
Phonograph hip hop put me on top
'Lo wears, and Tommy Hil fly shit with a knot
The witty unpredictable live shit, drive by shit
Do or die shit, I'll take your lie and shit
And then you know, I'm runnin' through the penal, foul
Four toothed child was wild
The old lady snitched, but fuck it, you know it, one love kid
No I'm not doin' a bid
Too much to get for what 'cause six niggaz got
Stuck, and the nigga chain was truck
Yo fuck that, Criminology rap
Speakers stay jet black floatin' in the flyest Ac'
Nigga, bring it, yeah
Much love go to New York City
