New Zealand (/njuːˈziːlənd/ new-ZEE-lənd, Māori: Aotearoa [aɔˈtɛaɾɔa]) is an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. The country geographically comprises two main landmasses – that of the North Island, or Te Ika-a-Māui, and the South Island, or Te Waipounamu – and numerous smaller islands. New Zealand is situated some 1,500 kilometres (900 mi) east of Australia across the Tasman Sea and roughly 1,000 kilometres (600 mi) south of the Pacific island areas of New Caledonia, Fiji, and Tonga. Because of its remoteness, it was one of the last lands to be settled by humans. During its long isolation, New Zealand developed a distinctive biodiversity of animal, fungal and plant life. The country's varied topography and its sharp mountain peaks, such as the Southern Alps, owe much to the tectonic uplift of land and volcanic eruptions. New Zealand's capital city is Wellington, while its most populous city is Auckland.
Somewhere between 1250 and 1300 CE, Polynesians settled in the islands that were to become New Zealand, and developed a distinctive Māori culture. In 1642, Abel Tasman, a Dutch explorer, became the first European to sight New Zealand. In 1840, representatives of the British Crown and Māori Chiefs signed the Treaty of Waitangi, making New Zealand a British colony. Today, the majority of New Zealand's population of 4.5 million is of European descent; the indigenous Māori are the largest minority, followed by Asians and Pacific Islanders. Reflecting this, New Zealand's culture is mainly derived from Māori and early British settlers, with recent broadening arising from increased immigration. The official languages are English, Māori and New Zealand Sign Language, with English predominant.

When an armed robber stormed into Said Ahmed's takeaway in New Zealand, he probably did not expect to be ignored. But Mr Ahmed, who runs the Egyptian Kebab House in Christchurch, wasn't fazed by the gun-wielding masked man demanding money. In fact, CCTV footage from inside the shop shows the cool kebab shop owner placing an order into a bag and handing it to a waiting customer, as the would-be robber continues to make his demands for cash. Whoever said that 'getting there is half the fun' must have been travelling in Air New Zealand's Business Premier cabin. This is my most favourite business class product + service and it is always my first choice across the pacific to the USA (followed very closely by Virgin Australia). The flat bed is the most comfortable I have experienced and the special kiwi service is second to none. I have profiled Air New Zealand Business Class previously (AKL - LAX), though the last time I did it, I didn't have a 1080HD camera. With that, I decided to do it again (and rarely do I re-do an inflight experience that I have done before...this one is soooo good though, it deserves another upload!) I would like to acknowledge the wonderful cabin crew team who made this journey so memorable - in part...

Join me as I visit the new Air New Zealand flagship lounge at Auckland (AKL) airport and then flying to Sydney with Air New Zealand in one of their 787-9 'Dreamliners' in Business Class (or as they call it, 'Business Premier')! The lounge was overhauled late last year and expanded significantly and it really shows! It's now a world class lounge. Air New Zealand were Boeing launch partner of the 787-9 (and this comes as no surprise when you look around AKL airport and see 787s everywhere) and I was keen to try their business premier class from their flagship airport. Dutch navigator Abel Tasman was the first European to encounter the Maori. Four members of his crew were killed in a bloody encounter in 1642. In 1769 British explorer James Cook established friendly relations with some Maori. By 1800, visits by European ships were relatively frequent. At this time, war and disease took their toll on the Maori till eventually their population dropped to about 100,000. In 1840 representatives of Britain and Maori chiefs signed the Treaty of Waitangi. This treaty established British rule, granted the Maori British citizenship, and recognized Maori land rights. Today many of the treaty's provisions are disputed and there ahs been and is an effort from the New Zealand Government to recompense Maori for some land that was illegally confiscated. Ma...

The center is set up in villages, where there are traditional homes, and a series of performances from the country represented. The Maori people of New Zealand came from eastern Polynesia in waves of canoes sometime between 1250 and 1300 AD. Over the centuries, they developed a rich and complex society that included a fierce and terrifying warrior culture. Europeans described the Maori warriors as large men, although women could be warriors as well, who had extensive facial tattoos. While they looked fearsome, their intense physical appearance is only the start of what made these warriors so terrifying. →Subscribe for new videos every day! https://www.youtube.com/user/toptenznet?sub_confirmation=1 → → GET A T-SHIRT - http://www.toptenz.net/toptenz-t-shirts →Top 10 Objects That Were Clearly Invented Just to Annoy Physics: https://youtu.be/0MVGeRa-vLo Entertaining and educational top 10 lists from TopTenzNet! Beijing is the cultural, historical and political heart of China, today it a modern and thriving metropolis but also home to some of the world's most impressive ancient wonders: The Great Wall, The Forbidden City, and the Summer Palace. But there's another side to Beijing -- uber cool bars, ultra-modern architecture, great shopping (both in the markets and at the malls), and wonderful cuisine. The rich traditions of China date back centuries and in Beijing you can find them all -- both in traditional and modern form. The evolution of China is reflected in the music and art scene in Beijing.

Have you ever noticed how long the lists of people are in the end credits of a movie? Even a short film can have hundreds of names... it's hard to wrap your mind around all those individual contributions. But that's what it takes. There wouldn't be movies without small armies working behind the scenes trying bring them into being. New Zealand is one of the most beautiful places in the world. But mountains are just mountains until people come together and shape them into a premiere riding destination. And so while the terrain in Queenstown was amazing, it was the people who made this whole movie truly come to life. Thanks NZ! Nestled between two natural harbors, it’s no wonder residents and visitors alike enjoy spending time on the water. After a breakfast in Elliott Stables, take off on a boat cruise from downtown to explore the sights of Hauraki Gulf. With your feet back on solid ground, enjoy Auckland ...
New Zealand Māori: Aotearoa is an island country located in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. The country geographically comprises two main landmasses ‒ that of the North and South Islands ‒ as well as numerous smaller islands. Because of its remoteness, it was one of the last lands to be settled by h

http://bookinghunter.com The Auckland metropolitan area, in the North Island of New Zealand, is the largest and most populous urban area in the country. Auckland straddles the Auckland volcanic field, which has produced about 50 volcanoes. The most important places to visit in Auckland are: Sky Tower (offers amazing city views. Auckland wouldn't be the same without Sky Tower), Waiheke Island (a seaside paradise close to Auckland. Explore its picturesque vineyards and green pastures), Mount Eden (a big dormant volcanic crater with excellent views of Auckland), Cornwall Park (a peaceful escape from the city, you'll walk amongst mature trees and possibly even spot sheep), Karekare Beach (an unusual beach with its black sand and tall cliffs, this stunning location was used in the movie The P...

Canadian filmmaker Apolla Echino was tired of seeing men get to have all the fun in adventure films and is on a one-woman mission to change that around. Her documentary series, A Woman’s Guide To The World, has taken her aboard a tall ship sailing to Antarctica and into the wildest corners of the Amazon jungle. But it’s the latest chapter, a wintertime surf trip across the stunning South Island of New Zealand that has attracted hundreds of thousands of viewers from across the globe. The film charts Apolla's journey from the breathtaking Kaikoura coastline, south to the Catlins and west to the wild and remote Jackson Bay. Apolla even chances upon a freshwater break at the mouth of the Buller River - a rare event that only occurs a dozen times a year. In the freezing New Zealand winter, A...

InterContinental Wellington presents travel guide for anyone visiting the beautiful city of Wellington, New Zealand.
http://www.expedia.com/Auckland.d178233.Destination-Travel-Guides Welcome to Auckland. The native Māori people named the area Tāmaki Makaurau, meaning "desired by a hundred men". The attraction is still there today, because Auckland is now the most populous city in New Zealand. In the City of Sails you are always surrounded by water, as becomes clear when you stand on the top of the top of Mount Eden. A nice inner-city beach is Mission Bay. Other visitor attractions in Auckland include the stately Auckland War Memorial Museum in Auckland Domain park. Daredevils can base jump from the Sky Tower. Children will love the Rainbow's End theme park and the Auckland Zoo. Auckland has many diverse neighborhoods, such as hip Ponsonby and laid-back Devonport. From the city, you can set sail to th...

https://www.expedia.com/Vanuatu.d192.Destination-Travel-Guides The Republic of Vanuatu lies in the South Pacific Ocean, just a short flight from Australia and New Zealand. Most visitors to Vanuatu arrive at the nation’s capital, Port Vila, situated on the main island of Efate. Vila, as it’s affectionately known, sits at the edge of a magnificent natural harbor filled with corals and sea life. Like many South Pacific ports, Vila is wonderfully relaxed, so leave your designer gear at home, pull on some flip flops and slide into island time. Just a ten-minute drive from port Vila, is Ekasup Cultural Village, where proud villagers are waiting to share their centuries-old customs, crafts, music and stories. From Vila, take a 50-minute flight to Espiritu Santo. At the island’s sleep...

I have always wanted to travel to New Zealand for as long as I can remember, and so when I decided to move out of my home of 10 years and start pursuing film making around the world, I knew the time had come. It was one of the hardest decisions I've ever made to leave my beloved home, but I was more ready than ever to embrace the unknown and explore the world. I spent 3 months in New Zealand traveling in a Camper Van having one of the most incredible times of my life. It changed my life forever, and I know I'll never be the same. Magical New Zealand is comprised of 8640 individual images from over 150,000 that were taken as I traveled around New ...

Not be mention curling up out under the stars beside all the gear for whole nights at a time catching some sleep here and there between checking the gear and changing batteries and staring up into eternity with spectacular meteors burning up in the cosmic shore out the corner of your eye. When they say
We were never old enough to care
It's like first of November
And when they say
We were never good enough to love
They've been washed in the holy waters
So I wanna die
With my eyes full life
All the years I survived I knew nothing about
Nothing about
So I wanna die
With my head full life
All the years I survived I knew nothing about
Nothing about so much
Hope we got far
'Cause here it's the same as for a bear
To be stuck inside a bird cage
And if we swim
To see New Zealand with our friends
Oh would you please bury me there
And sing
Together for the new start
I'm sailing
Through the mighty coast lines
As a ghost on a holiday
So I wanna die
With my eyes full life
All the years I survived I knew nothing about
Nothing about
So I wanna die
With my head full life
All the years I survived I knew nothing about
