Developments at Wyandotte and Pelissier

There’s been a lot of activity on one particular corner in downtown Windsor. Wyandotte Street and Pelissier Street intersect at two parking lots and several vacancies…until now.

Driving downtown in the last few weeks I’ve been noticing a lot of debris on the corner with large trucks, men in hardhats, and exposed brick. What was a spa of some kind at 85 Wyandotte Street West is now being transformed in a big way. All of the building infrastructure at that address looks to be getting gutted.

There were rumours in the neighbourhood that a fitness gym was moving in, but when I asked one of the guys in charge of the renovation, he informed me that the successful College Boreal campus (633 Ouellette Avenue, Ste 305) is expanding into this space on the main floor. Yes…expanding. There is growth in downtown, and it looks great for this corner.

Also in this area, a place that has also been featured/toured on Downtown WO, 111 Wyandotte Street West, is now being occupied by a business that is not yet open, but has a new sign in pace called Windsor Surplus Electronics. I look forward to seeing what they have to offer when they get their doors open.

Watch the vids below (2:40 and 0:45 in length) to see the spaces I’m talking about and the renovations that are taking place.
