Welcome to Entertainment Management at AIM. This music degree course caters for business careers in the music & entertainment industry.
The Entertainment Management teaching staff are made up of active and successful music industry and entertainment management specialists with extensive national and international experience. They are highly respected individuals who are passionate about developing talented industry professionals.
There are two degrees available in this area
1. Bachelor of Entertainment Management
- a pure entertainment business degree
2. Bachelor of Music (Arts Management)
- music business AND musical instrument studies
This degree prepares students for a career in the music and entertainment industry, combining an excellent business management education with a creative focus.
The Bachelor of Entertainment Management degree meets the demands of today's fast-paced and ever-evolving entertainment industry, examining both the artistic and the commercial sides of the business, as well as exploring the dynamic between the two. The degree has a strong focus on the commercial music industry, but also considers the not-for-profit sector.
Units of Study include:
business management
marketing and communications
entertainment law
digital marketing
promotion
economics and finance in the entertainment industry
artist management
tour management
This degree course examines the structure and practices of the industry, the skills required to operate within it, and the ever-changing opportunities for artistic and commercial success.
Internship Opportunity
Bachelor of Entertainment Management students complete two internship units in the final two trimesters of the degree. The structure of the degree ensures that students go into their internships equipped with substantial knowledge and practical skills, that enable them to take on challenging internships and significantly contribute to their host organisation's productivity.
The quality of AIM's interns has resulted in offers of work as a consequence of their internship.
Recent examples include; Universal Music, Warner Music Australia, Sony ATV, Ambience Entertainment, Elefant Traks, Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Australia, and Source Music. AIM's interns are highly sought after, in particular for their knowledge of digital marketing and the use of social media to build creative communities and maximise commercial opportunities.

Entertainment management
Entertainment management is a relatively new business management discipline that is increasingly being taught as a Bachelor of Arts degree. Entertainment management courses aim to provide graduates with appropriate knowledge and skills to progress into management careers within the entertainment sector, managing facilities such as sport events, theme parks, theaters, cinemas, live music venues, museums, art galleries, broadcast media companies and night clubs.
The Lubin School of Business at Pace University offers a BBA degree in management with a concentration in arts and entertainment.
A number of master's-level programs have emerged recently, including Carnegie Mellon University's Master of Entertainment Industry Management – which offers students with undergraduate degrees in the film and television the opportunity to refocus their education on the management dimension of the work, or Northwestern University's Master of Science in Leadership for Creative Enterprises program, which offers students with backgrounds in visual, performing, or interactive arts with management and entrepreneurial skills.

Entertainment
Entertainment is a form of activity that holds the attention and interest of an audience, or gives pleasure and delight. It can be an idea or a task, but is more likely to be one of the activities or events that have developed over thousands of years specifically for the purpose of keeping an audience's attention. Although people's attention is held by different things, because individuals have different preferences in entertainment, most forms are recognisable and familiar. Storytelling, music, drama, dance, and different kinds of performance exist in all cultures, were supported in royal courts, developed into sophisticated forms and over time became available to all citizens. The process has been accelerated in modern times by an entertainment industry which records and sells entertainment products. Entertainment evolves and can be adapted to suit any scale, ranging from an individual who chooses a private entertainment from a now enormous array of pre-recorded products; to a banquet adapted for two; to any size or type of party, with appropriate music and dance; to performances intended for thousands; and even for a global audience.

Internship Opportunity
Bachelor of Entertainment Management students complete two internship units in the final two trimesters of the degree. The structure of the degree ensures that students go into their internships equipped with substantial knowledge and practical skills, that enable them to take on challenging internships and significantly contribute to their host organisation's productivity.

Welcome to Entertainment Management at AIM. This music degree course caters for business careers in the music & entertainment industry.
The Entertainment Management teaching staff are made up of active and successful music industry and entertainment management specialists with extensive national and international experience. They are highly respected individuals who are passionate about developing talented industry professionals.
There are two degrees available in this area
1. Bachelor of Entertainment Management
- a pure entertainment business degree
2. Bachelor of Music (Arts Management)
- music business AND musical instrument studies
This degree prepares students for a career in the music and entertainment industry, combining an excellent business management education with a creative focus.
The Bachelor of Entertainment Management degree meets the demands of today's fast-paced and ever-evolving entertainment industry, examining both the artistic and the commercial sides of the business, as well as exploring the dynamic between the two. The degree has a strong focus on the commercial music industry, but also considers the not-for-profit sector.

marketing and communications
entertainment law
digital marketing
promotion
economics and finance in the entertainment industry
artist management
tour management
