The Qazvin Province is one of the 31 provinces of Iran. It is in the northwest of the country and its center is the city of Qazvin. The province was created in 1993 out of part of Tehran Province and includes 20 cities.
Qazvin was the location of a former capital of the Persian Empire and contains over 2000 architectural and archaeological sites. It is a provincial capital today that has been a cultural center throughout history.

Qazvin, Caspin, Qazwin, or Ghazvin) is the largest city and capital of the Province of Qazvin in Iran. Qazvin was an ancient capital in the Persian Empire and nowadays is known as the calligraphy capital of Iran. It is famous for its Baghlava, carpet patterns, poets, political newspaper and pahlavi (Middle Persian) influence on its accent. At the 2011 census, its population was 381,598.
The city was a capital of the Persian Empire under Safavids in 1548-1598. It is a provincial capital today that has been an important cultural center throughout history.
Archeological findings in the Qazvin plain reveal urban agricultural settlements for at least nine millennia. Qazvin contains several buildings from the Safavid era, dating to the period in which it was capital of Persia. Perhaps the most famous of the surviving edifices is the Chehel Sotoun palace in central Qazvin. We visit other buildings like the Imamzadeh Hossein (a mausoleum), the Hosseiniyeh Aminiha and bazaars.

I thought I knew what a good hospitality is like.. until I came to Iran.
"Why go to Iran?" This is a question people often asked when I tell them I was going there. I would have ask the same if it wasn't the words of mouth I heard over the years about how awesome Iran is, how incredibly friendly the people are, and how off the beaten path the whole country is.
The first day I arrived in Tehran, I was walking around the Bazaar and we were approached by several locals asking what we think about Iran, gave us free tea and cakes, and allowed us to roam their warehouses without asking for anything in return. This similar scenario happened a lot more throughout my 2 weeks time in Iran and really got me thinking about how misinformed I was about the country. It is very safe to travel in Iran, easy to do it independently as the locals will go out of their ways to help you, and the people are one of the friendliest people in the world. Not to mention how beautiful the landscape is, how stunning all the attractions are, and how off the beaten track the whole country is.
Iran is truly a special country that with restore your heart and soul and I hope that this video shows at least half of the warmth I got from the amazing people in Iran.

Qazvin was an ancient capital in the Persian Empire and nowadays is known as the calligraphy capital of Iran. It is famous for its Baghlava, carpet patterns, poets, political newspaper and pahlavi (Middle Persian) influence on its accent. At the 2011 census, its population was 381,598.
Located in 150 km (93 mi) northwest of Tehran, in the Qazvin Province, it is at an altitude of about 1,800 m (5,900 ft) above sea level. The climate is cold but dry, due to its position south of the rugged Alborz range called KTS Atabakiya.

The city was a former capital of the Persian Empire under Safavids. It is a provincial capital today that has been an important cultural center throughout history.
Archeological findings in the Qazvin plain reveal urban agricultural settlements for at least nine millennia. Qazvin geographically connects Tehran, Isfahan, and the Persian Gulf to the Caspian seacoast and Asia Minor, hence its strategic location throughout the ages.

Archeological findings in the Qazvin plain reveal urban agricultural settlements for at least nine millennia. Qazvin contains several buildings from the Safavid era, dating to the period in which it was capital of Persia. Perhaps the most famous of the surviving edifices is the Chehel Sotoun palace in central Qazvin. We visit other buildings like the Imamzadeh Hossein (a mausoleum), the Hosseiniyeh Aminiha and bazaars.

It is very safe to travel in Iran, easy to do it independently as the locals will go out of their ways to help you, and the people are one of the friendliest people in the world. Not to mention how beautiful the landscape is, how stunning all the attractions are, and how off the beaten track the whole country is.
Iran is truly a special country that with restore your heart and soul and I hope that this video shows at least half of the warmth I got from the amazing people in Iran.

"Caspian Airline Flight 154, a Tupolev passenger aircraft 2009 exploded on 15th of July 2009 near the city of Qazvin, and all its 186 passengers died in fire… including my beloved Naieri... Unexpectedly, airplanes became a huge part of my life... destinations, landing reports, news and all became concentrated onto an airplane, I don't know if there are reports of the accidents, but even that would not last... Now, I am the reporter of the airways."

Over 140 tour guides from 35 countries on Wednesday embarked on a three-day sightseeing in Iran ahead of the 17th World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations convention, which will be held in Tehran from Jan 28 to Feb 1. The tour guides are scheduled to visit arrays of natural beauties and historical spots scattered across provinces of Qazvin, Zanjan and Hamedan, CHTN reported on Jan. 25. The excursion is within the timetable of the WFTGA convention.

Sa’d al-Saltaneh is Iran`s biggest urban caravanserai built during Qajar dynasty. The place is 135 years old and was built by Baqer Sa’d al-Saltaneh with the aim of boosting the city’s trade foundation. This complex enjoys three architectural typologies including passages with small rooms to accommodate caravans, spaces called “Shabestan” for the entrance of livestock and places like water reservoirs and baths which rendered services to the guests at Sa’d al-Saltaneh.

There are many monuments in the city of Qazvin that belong to the old days. The Aliqapoo mansion is one of the ancient buildings that was once regarded as the royal palace of the Safavid kings. The name Aliqapoo refers to the palaces of the Safavid Kings. They used to establish palaces with the same name in different cities that were regarded as the capital cities of the country. The Aliqapoo complex was built upon the order of Shah Tahmasb Safavi, one of the kings of the era. And later on, during the reign of Shah Abbas the first, the complex was renovated into its current structure.

The city of Kashan prospered under the Safavid, Shah Abbas The First, who designed the Bagh-E-Fin Garden according to a model of a Persian paradise garden. Outside the city, the settlement mound of Tepe Sialk uncovered finds that can be traced back to the seventh millennium B.C. At the time of Shah Abbas, Kashan was fortified with a double city wall that contained more than six thousand buildings, plus forty mosques and three Koran schools. The Koran Gate leads to the city of Shiraz, a city of love, roses and poetry. Famous Persian poets once lived here and created works of great beauty. Today their mausoleums are visited with much reverence, such as the Hafiz Tomb. For fifty eight years, Ionic stonemasons, Babylonian brick makers, Median and Egyptian goldsmiths, worked in Persepolis, they created what was an indelible symbol of the Achaemenid Empire. The highest level contained the royal residences with living rooms, a fire temple and harem. Iran is still a land of desert, palaces and mosques, a country that is timeless, captivating and historic.
