"The Bazaar" is a song by Canadian rock band The Tea Party. It was released as a promotional single in Australia, Canada, the Netherlands and the USA. The music video was shot in Istanbul, and its Grand Bazaar. An acoustic version was recorded also and released on Alhambra as "The Grand Bazaar".
"The Bazaar" is a standard three-piece rock song with an introduction composed of harmonium and goblet drums. Jeff Burrows described the song as fusing "the exotic with heavier rock side of the band better than any other song".
The song has been covered by the symphonic metal band Hollenthon as a bonus track on their 2008 album, Opus Magnum.

The Tea Party is a Canadian rock band with blues, progressive rock, Indian and Middle Eastern influences, dubbed "Moroccan roll" by the media. Active throughout the 1990s and up until 2005, the band re-formed in 2011. The Tea Party released eight albums on EMI Music Canada, selling 1.6 million records worldwide, and achieving a No. 1 Canadian single "Heaven Coming Down" in 1999.
The Tea Party toured Canada on twenty-one occasions and Australia on twelve. In November 2002, the band toured Canada with symphony orchestras reinterpreting a decade's worth of shared songwriting. Breaking up in 2005 due to creative differences, band members nevertheless re-united in 2011 to play several Canadian tour dates during the summer. The band decided to continue after the tour and has now re-formed. The band has since released a double live album, recorded on their 2012 tour of Australia. Video shot during this tour was released as a Live DVD/Blu-ray, "The Tea Party: Live From Australia" in 2013. The Tea Party has also been writing and recording new original material since Fall 2012, and their latest album, The Ocean at the End, was released in September 2014.
A bazaar is a permanently enclosed marketplace, or street where goods and services are exchanged or sold. The term originates from the Persian word bāzār, from Middle Persian wāzār, from Old Persian vāčar, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *wahā-čarana.Souq is another word used in the Middle East for an open-air marketplace or commercial quarter. The term bazaar is sometimes also used to refer to the "network of merchants, bankers, and craftsmen" who work in that area. Although the current meaning of the word is believed to have originated in native Zoroastrian Persia, its use has spread and now has been accepted into the vernacular in countries around the world. The rise of large bazaars and stock trading centers in the Muslim World allowed the creation of new capitals and eventually new empires. New and wealthy cities such as Isfahan, Golconda, Samarkand, Cairo, Baghdad, and Timbuktu were founded along trade routes and bazaars. Street markets is the European and North American equivalents.
The old town of a city or town is its historic or original core. Although the city is usually larger in its present form, many cities have redesignated this part of the city to commemorate its origins after thorough renovations. There are many places throughout the world named old town (and this is sometimes construed as a proper noun and capitalized). This is a list of some famous old towns:

Legendary Canadian rockers The Tea Party were recently in Australia touring in support of their eighth studio album, 'The Ocean At The End' and they took some time out during their visit to stop by the Music Feeds Studio and perform a few tracks for us. One of those tracks was their 1995 classic, 'The Bazaar', which drummer Jeff Burrows has previously described via the booklet accompanying the band's 2000 Greatest Hits album 'Tangents' as fusing "the exotic with heavier rock side of the band better than any other song". During their visit, The Tea Party also performed a few songs off 'The Ocean At The End', their first studio album in over a decade.

Otherwise known as “Campiello,” this area is the fascinating maze of narrow streets, alleyways and steps that are squeezed between the Old Fort - Old Port - New Fort. It is like a miniature Venice with much of its appeal being the residential atmosphere. In centuries gone by this area was surrounded by city walls, long since torn down, but the only way to expand the living quarters was to go upwards. Therefore it is full of high buildings and you can often see laundry strung across the alleyways. This is a lovely part of the town worth visiting. Corfu Old Town is a shopper's paradise. Being in the Old Town of Corfu (Kerkyra) trully is amazing. It has a fascinating road network, complemented by small squares which also developed naturally. They are mainly found in front of churches, and apa...

The Tea Party
silence swimming in a pool of dreams
beneath its depths the forgotten streams
above, the city of the evening star
behind its walls, the grand bazaar
as she walks through its endless maze
cursing those who mistrust her ways
please my friend no matter what she sees
tell my lover come back to me
doorways spilling out their sombre light
casting shadows that will raid the night
along the alleys of her ruling fears
walk the visions that will cause her tears
lying still as she wills her glance
through the eyes of a charmers trance
please my friend no matter what she sees
tell my lover come back to me
and on the walls
shadows play
twilight souls
anguished ways
lost adrift
severed seas
i await you
