Chief commercial officer

The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) is an executive-level role, with the holder being responsible for the commercial strategy and the development of an organization. It typically involves activities relating to marketing, sales, product development and customer service to drive business growth and market share. As a corporate officer position, the CCO generally reports directly to the chief executive officer (CEO) and is primarily concerned with ensuring the integrated commercial success of an organisation. The role typically must combine technical knowledge of the relevant field with strong marketing and business development skills.

Essentially, a CCO takes ownership of the customer and the customer interface with the product or service offering, making sure that all functions of the organization are aligned to meet its strategic commercial objectives. This means that they are closely linked to the organization's strategic management function, in drafting, implementing and evaluating cross-functional decisions that will enable an organization to achieve its long-term objectives.

Kate Johnson (rower)

Katherine "Kate" Johnson (born December 18, 1978 in Denver, Colorado) is an American rower who won a silver medal at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games in the women's eight. Johnson and her team won gold at the World Cup Championships in Munich and Lucerne in 2004 prior to competing at the Olympic games. At the FISA World Rowing Championships in 2002, Johnson won the gold medal and World Championship title in the women's eight.

Johnson competed on nine U.S. National Rowing Teams during her career making her first international team at age 15. She also competed for the University of Michigan, from which she graduated in 2001. She was a three-time All-America honoree while at Michigan (1999-2001), and Big Ten Rower of the Year in both 2000 and 2001.
