Jayceon Terrell Taylor (born November 29, 1979), better known by his stage name The Game (or simply Game), is an American rapper and actor. Game is best known as a rapper in the West Coast hip hop scene, and for being one of Dr. Dre's most notable protégés. Born in Los Angeles, California, he released his first mixtape You Know What It Is Vol. 1 in 2002, and landed a record deal with the independent label Get Low Recordz owned by JT the Bigga Figga. The Game's mixtape reached the hands of Sean Combs, founder of Bad Boy Records, who originally was on the verge of signing him to his label. Five months later, he was discovered by Dr. Dre who listened to the mixtape and signed him to his Aftermath Entertainment label in 2003. He rose to fame in 2005 with the success of his debut album The Documentary (2005) and Doctor's Advocate (2006). The Recording Industry Association of America certified his album The Documentary double platinum in March 2005 and it has sold over five million copies worldwide.
The Game is a mental game where the objective is to avoid thinking about The Game itself. Thinking about The Game constitutes a loss, which must be announced each time it occurs. It is impossible to win most versions of The Game. Depending on the variation of The Game, the whole world, or all those aware of the game, are playing it all the time. Tactics have been developed to increase the number of people aware of The Game and thereby increase the number of losses.
The origins of The Game are unknown; a game featuring ironic processing was played by Leo Tolstoy in 1840. The Game has received media attention in different countries and the number of players is estimated by Jonty Haywood to be in the millions.
There are three commonly reported rules to The Game:
Twenty-one or 21 may refer to:
In the Game is a 2015 documentary film directed by Peabody award-winner Maria Finitzo that follows the ups and downs of a girls’ soccer team. Set is a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood, this film chronicles the obstacles that struggling low-income families and therefore students must face in their quest for higher education. Elizabeth, captain of the girls soccer team, stresses going beyond what is expected of her teammates on and off the court. Many of the girls are juggling the pressures to get good grades, perform well for their soccer team, and help their families out financially by working. Kelly High School on Chicago’s south side is an inner city public school struggling to provide the basics for their students because of a lack of resources and funding with the school experiencing $4 million budget cuts in the most recent years. Many students of Kelly High School do not make it to college, either because they cannot compete academically or because their families do not have the financial resources to send them to college. The girls face an uneven playing field - or in the case of the girls at Kelly High School, no soccer field at all - little or no support, problems at home, uncertain futures, racial discrimination, and poverty, but remain driven and hopeful thanks to their teammates and the dedicated mentoring of their coach.
Pause may refer to:
"Pause" is a song from American rapper Pitbull's sixth studio album, Planet Pit. The song was written by Armando C. Perez, Adrian Santalla, Abdesamad Ben Abdelouahid, Ari Kalimi and Urales Vargas, and it was produced by DJ Buddha. The song peaked to number 33 on the New Zealand Singles Chart.
"Pause" was used to promote the Zumba fitness program. It is also the theme song of the video game Zumba Fitness 2.
Pause is the second album by Four Tet. It was released on 28 May 2001 in the United Kingdom, and on 9 October 2001 in the United States. Pause was Four Tet's first release on Domino Records; his debut album, Dialogue, had been distributed by Output Recordings.
A recording of an office setting, most prominently featuring the sounds of typing on a computer keyboard, forms a recurring motif in the album; it both opens ("Glue of the World") and closes ("Hilarious Movie of the 90's") the album, and is also present in "Harmony One".
Three tracks from Pause were later released in remixed form on Four Tet's Paws EP.
The acoustic guitar track "Everything Is Alright" is used as the theme music for the National Public Radio programme On Point.
The opening track "Glue of the World" is used in the background of the Six Feet Under episode "Someone Else's Eyes" (Season 2, Episode 9). This same track is used in the House M.D. episode 'Last Resort'. It is played over the top of various scenes from the hospital as the hostages are being released and/or detained.
