The Adventure

"The Adventure" is a song by the American rock band Angels & Airwaves. It was the lead single from their debut studio album, We Don't Need to Whisper (2006), released on Geffen Records.

The song received increased attention when it aired on a Smallville trailer. After the season finale of Smallville aired, "The Adventure" climbed to #30 on Amazon.

During concerts, DeLonge has often used both "Down" and "I Miss You" by Blink-182 as part of an extended intro to the song. The track was played in the crowd warm-up session before Barack Obama's presidential election rallies in 2008.

"The Adventure" is also featured as downloadable content in the karaoke game Lips and in the music game Rock Band. It is also a playable song in the music game Band Hero.

The song was also featured on a Ford and X-Play commercial.

Adventure

An adventure is an exciting or unusual experience. It may also be a bold, usually risky undertaking, with an uncertain outcome. Adventures may be activities with some potential for physical danger such as exploring, skydiving, mountain climbing, river rafting or participating in extreme sports. The term also broadly refers to any enterprise that is potentially fraught with physical, financial or psychological risk, such as a business venture, a love affair, or other major life undertakings .

Motivation

Adventurous experiences create psychological arousal, which can be interpreted as negative (e.g. fear) or positive (e.g. flow), and which can be detrimental as stated by the Yerkes-Dodson law. For some people, adventure becomes a major pursuit in and of itself. According to adventurer André Malraux, in his La Condition Humaine (1933), "If a man is not ready to risk his life, where is his dignity?". Similarly, Helen Keller stated that "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing."

Angels & Airwaves

Angels & Airwaves is an American supergroup, currently featuring Tom DeLonge (guitarist, bassist, keyboardist and vocalist) and Ilan Rubin (drummer, keyboardist, guitarist, bassist and backing vocalist). Former members are Ryan Sinn (bassist), Adam "Atom" Willard (drummer), Matt Wachter (bassist), David Kennedy (guitarist), and Eddie Breckenridge (bassist). The band formed after Blink-182 went on hiatus in 2005, the band has continued to record and tour despite DeLonge reigniting his career with Blink-182 in 2009. Delonge was subsequently fired from Blink-182 in 2015 and is expected to focus on Angels & Airwaves more extensively. The band has released five studio albums We Don't Need to Whisper (2006), I-Empire (2007), Love (2010), Love: Part Two (2011) and The Dream Walker (2014). The project also resulted in the documentary film Start the Machine (2008). In 2011, accompanying the two Love albums, the group scored and produced the science fiction drama film Love by director William Eubank in 460 theatres nationwide during their multimedia event, Love Live. The band released an animated short named Poet Anderson: The Dream Walker and their fifth album, The Dream Walker, on December 9. Other related media, such as comic books and a live-action film, are to follow in 2015.

Boss Baby

Boss Baby is an upcoming American 3D computer-animated comedy film, loosely based on a picture book of the same name, written and illustrated by Marla Frazee. Produced by DreamWorks Animation, the film is directed by Tom McGrath and written by Michael McCullers. It stars Alec Baldwin and Kevin Spacey. Boss Baby is scheduled to be released on March 10, 2017 by 20th Century Fox.

Plot

A seven-year-old boy is jealous of his "fast-talking, briefcase-carrying" baby brother. When he goes on a mission to win back affection of his parents, he finds out about a secret plot by the CEO of Puppy Co., which revolves around his baby brother and threatens to destabilize the balance of love in the world. Both brothers must unite to "save their parents, restore order to the world and prove that love is indeed an infinite force."

On June 12, 2014, DreamWorks Animation announced plans to release the film on March 18, 2016, with the film being directed by Tom McGrath. On September 30, 2014, Alec Baldwin and Kevin Spacey joined the film, Baldwin would play a baby and Spacey would play the villainous role. Ramsey Naito and Denise Cascino would produce the film based on a script by Michael McCullers. On December 11, 2014, it was announced that Boss Baby had been removed from the schedule and replaced with Kung Fu Panda 3, with a new release date yet to be announced. On January 22, 2015, the film's release date was pushed back to January 13, 2017, and in September 2015, further back to March 10, 2017, taking over the Captain Underpants date.
