Penn Fraser Jillette (born March 5, 1955) is an American magician, juggler, comedian, musician, inventor, actor, and best-selling author known for his work with fellow magician Teller in the team Penn & Teller. He is also known for his advocacy of atheism, scientific skepticism, libertarianism and free-market capitalism.
Jillette was born in Greenfield, Massachusetts. His mother, Valda R. Jillette (née Parks; 1909–2000), was a secretary, and his father, Samuel Herbert Jillette (1912–1999), worked at Greenfield's Franklin County Jail. Jillette became an atheist in his early teens after reading the Bible and was subsequently asked to leave the church after asking questions in a youth group that also made skeptics of his peers. Jillette became disenchanted with traditional illusionist acts that presented the craft as authentic magic, such as The Amazing Kreskin on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. At age eighteen, he saw a show by illusionist James Randi, and became enamored of his approach to magic that openly acknowledged deception as entertainment rather than a mysterious supernatural power. Jillette regularly acknowledges Randi as the one person on the planet he loves the most besides members of his family.

Outspoken, frank, and bitingly clever, Penn Jillette is a cultural phenomenon as a solo personality and as half of the world-famous, Emmy Award-winning magic duo Penn & Teller. In his new book, Presto! he describes his determination to transform himself—body and mind—and gives his views on sex, religion, and pop culture. CHF associate artistic director Alison Cuddy joins this master provocateur for a rollicking evening of mayhem and magic against the backdrop of the 2016 presidential campaign. "How do you think I'm going to die?" asks Penn Jillette, "the larger and louder half" of Penn & Teller, at the start of 'Presto!: How I Made Over 100 Pounds Disappear and Other Magical Tales', a book that is every bit as mesmerizing and captivating as the duo's live show. In fact, Presto! reveals the greatest disappearing act of Penn's 40-plus-year career. Not "The Vanishing African Spotted Pygmy Elephant Act," in which make the duo make a cow dressed like an elephant go poof. This is the trick by which the 61-year-old, who once topped the scales at over 300 pounds, lost one-third of his body weight in a five-month span. Penn details his diet regimen as laid out by Ray Cronise, a former NASA scientist and entrepreneur who pushes an extremely restricted plant-based diet (essentially, vega...
Penn Jillette just got born again – but don't fortify the gates of heaven just yet, because it's his atheism that he's renewed, to account for blanket religious vilification and hate politics. From today's episode of Penn's Sunday School, Penn explains why he voted for Hillary Clinton over the Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson.
The story of the Penn Jilllette's weight loss is, as you might expect, quite extreme. In fact it was the radical nature of his diet that attracted him to it in the first place. Jillette's latest book is "Presto!: How I Made Over 100 Pounds Disappear and Other Magical Tales" (http://goo.gl/jJDkz1). Audio excerpt from the last few minutes in Episode 247 (November 20th, 2016) of Penn's Sunday School podcast. ---------------------- Summary: At the end of Penn's most recent episode of his weekly podcast, Penn discusses David Blaine's recently aired special "Beyond Magic" where Blaine debuted his own version of the "Bullet Catch" trick, a classic routine done by many magicians for over 100 years, but nowadays generally considered to be a signature Penn & Teller finisher (but by no means considered their property). Penn explains that he has no qualms with Blaine performing the trick, as it is essentially public domain for magicians, but he goes on to harshly criticize the style in which Blaine chose to carry out his own unique version. Penn discusses the morality of performing the tr...

Criss Angel appears on the Penn Jillette Radio Show on 02/07/2006. These are just selections from that interview that focus on Criss discussing that he has no magic powers and that he is just an entertainer. For the entire 45 minute interview please visit http://www.pennfans.net/category/Audio_Archive/PennRadio/ The purpose of why I put this up here is for those many gullible youtubers who actully believe in the "magic" he performs on his TV show. He is an awesome entertainer, but he is not some demon who actully has these powers, and he says so himself in this interview. If you still believe in all of that supernatural stuff even after it comes straight from the horse's mouth that it's just tricks... then I seriously feel sorry for you.

Richard Dawkins — In Conversation with Penn Jillette
