A lake island is any landmass within a lake. It is a type of inland island. Lake islands may form a lake archipelago.
Lake islands may form in numerous ways. They may occur through a build-up of sedimentation as shoals, and become true islands through changes in the level of the lake. They may have been originally part of the lake's shore, and been separated from it by erosion, or they may have been left as pinnacles when the lake formed through a raising in the level of a river or other waterway (either naturally, or artificially through the damming of a river or lake). They may also have formed through earthquake, meteor, or volcanic activity. In the latter case, crater or caldera islands exist, with new volcanic prominences in lakes formed in the craters of larger volcanoes. Other lake islands include ephemeral beds of floating vegetation, and islands artificially formed by human activity.
A lake is an area of variable size filled with water, localized in a basin, that is surrounded by land, apart from any river or other outlet that serves to feed or drain the lake. Lakes lie on land and are not part of the ocean (except for sea lochs in Scotland and Ireland), and therefore are distinct from lagoons, and are also larger and deeper than ponds, though there are no official or scientific definitions. Lakes can be contrasted with rivers or streams, which are usually flowing. However most lakes are fed and drained by rivers and streams.
Natural lakes are generally found in mountainous areas, rift zones, and areas with ongoing glaciation. Other lakes are found in endorheic basins or along the courses of mature rivers. In some parts of the world there are many lakes because of chaotic drainage patterns left over from the last Ice Age. All lakes are temporary over geologic time scales, as they will slowly fill in with sediments or spill out of the basin containing them.
Many lakes are artificial and are constructed for industrial or agricultural use, for hydro-electric power generation or domestic water supply, or for aesthetic or recreational purposes.
An island /ˈaɪlənd/ or isle /ˈaɪl/ is any piece of sub-continental land that is surrounded by water. Very small islands such as emergent land features on atolls can be called islets, skerries, cays or keys. An island in a river or a lake island may be called an eyot or ait, or a holm. A grouping of geographically or geologically related islands is called an archipelago, e.g. the Philippines.
An island may be described as such despite the presence of an artificial land bridge, for example Singapore and its causeway, or the various Dutch delta islands, such as IJsselmonde. Some places may even retain "island" in their names for historical reasons after being connected to a larger landmass by a wide land bridge, such as Coney Island or Coronado Island. Conversely, when a piece of land is separated from the mainland by a man-made canal, for example the Peloponnese by the Corinth Canal, it is generally not considered an island.
There are two main types of islands: continental islands and oceanic islands. There are also artificial islands.

A video I made when visiting Taal Volcano in the Philippines. It has the fun distinction of housing an island in a lake, in an island in a lake, in an island in the ocean. (Look it up on Google Earth if this is hard to follow.) This video is just a part of the a long trip around the world.

1:42 I caught a Largemouth Bass I decided to check out Orangeville Reservoir after work and see how the fishing is like here. Out of all the reservoirs I've been to, this seems to be the most healthy body of water with lots of weed growth and vegetation. In term shore fishing access, I would say that there's quite a few spots. This body of water contains the following species: Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, Yellow Perch, Black Crappie and pan fishes. I used a white spinnerbait to catch the only bass of the day. I also tried using senkos but I had no luck. There's a very long nice trail that brings you to an island and there's quite a few nice scenery. You'll see a bridge that cuts through the reservoir where you can find a few fishing spots at the start and end of the bridge. Fish...
A secluded Adirondack lake, a small island right in the middle of it and a lone green tent; camping doesn't get any more remote than this. Nestled within shoreline nooks and on islands dotting the lower Saranac are dozens of campsites accessible only by boat. They're perfect for those seeking a more serene camping experience.
5 Strangest Things Found In The Lake! Description: There are some pretty strange things hiding closer to home than you may expect. When you think of sunken treasure and miraculous discoveries you probably imagine scenes of piracy on the high seas or the lost city of Atlantis. It may surprise you to know that lakes have more than their fair share of interesting discoveries. We whittled the list down and aresure you’ll enjoy the top 5 strangest things found in lakes. Let’s begin! 5. Bull Sharks When most people think of sharks, they picture them living in the ocean. Some sharks, however, have adapted to freshwater. To make matters worse, there are plenty of bull shark attacks that occur in lakes every year. They have even been seen swimming upstream through rapids while jumping like salm...
The surreal experience of diving between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates The huge attraction of Silfra fissure for divers is the pristine clarity of the water and the fact that one is literally swimming between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates. The fissure is situated close to the shore of Þingvallavatn lake in Þingvellir National Park, South Iceland. It has been voted one of the world’s top cold-water dive. It´s part of the dramatic divergent tectonic boundary between the North American and Eurasian plates. Scuba diving or snorkelling in Silfra has been described as a surreal and unique experience. The fissure has been divided into three sections: Silfra Hall, Silfra Lagoon and the Cathedral. The last mentioned is a hundred-metre long crack and considered b...
Preview of a documentary film about two uninhabited islands on Prespa Lake. Both located in national parks in different countries. The smaller-one called Mali Grad (Small City) is on Albanian territory The other-one, called Golem Grad (Big City) locally known as Snake Island, is on Macedonian territory. The islands have rich Byzantine history with two roofed churches standing today. Also the islands are archaeological cites only partially excavated. This is a story about group of young people travelling and illegally camping on the islands.

All 15 miles of the island lake trail
Watch Out!!
Boy get your head out of the clouds,
I can’t respect your generation
The vibrations from your counterparts
are driving me impatient
So am I right or am I wrong,
or do you have no will to say it
I’m in high demand,
and like I said "I ain’t too patient"
Don’t you know who I am?
I am the chosen one
Place your trust all in me,
like I’m the Holy Son
Adam ate out Eve,
so baby why can’t we
Just start enjoying yourself,
like I’m enjoying yourself
So baby what’s it going to be,
I’ve already ate from that tree
I’m not saying that I’m right,
but it could be a crazy night
So let me take that purity,
it’s so much nicer next to me
Just start enjoying yourself
cause I’m enjoying yourself
Oh yeah, I love it when you do it right
Oh yeah, you know that you’re doing it right
Just let yourself go, don’t let your body say no
I can show you the world, I can show you deception
Just let yourself go, don’t let your body say no
Don’t say no, don’t say no
This is that time to tell the truth again
I think you like me a little bit better as a lover than a friend
I hope you’re right, a thousand times, I hope you’re right
But you know I do enough, just enough, to g-g-get by
You’re all going to hell
Well it is going to be a party
Just let yourself go, don’t let your body say no
I can show you the world, I can show you deception
Just let yourself go, don’t let your body say no
Don’t say no, don’t say no
You’re all going to hell
