Bursledon is a village on the River Hamble in Hampshire, England. It is located within the borough of Eastleigh. Close to the city of Southampton, Bursledon has a railway station, a marina, dockyards and the Bursledon Windmill. Nearby villages include Swanwick, Hamble-le-Rice, Netley and Sarisbury Green.
The village has close ties to the sea. The Elephant Boatyard located in Old Bursledon dates back centuries and is where Henry VIII's fleet was built. Submerged remnants of the fleet can be found in the River Hamble. The village, particularly the Jolly Sailor Pub and the Elephant Boatyard, were used as the primary filming venue for the 1980s BBC TV soap opera "Howards' Way". One of the more prominent family names responsible for building modern day Bursledon is the Hills of Springfield Manor.
The village was known as Brixendona or Brixenden in the 12th century, Burstlesden in the 14th century, and Bristelden in the 16th century. The name probably means "Hill associated with a man called Beorhtsige", from Old English personal name meaning 'bright victory' and dun meaning "hill, modern down". It is unlikely the Beohrtsige is the same individual who gave his name to Brixton in South London.

I shot, edited and directed this project. A documentary made for a university project about a children's hospice named Bursledon House (located in Southampton). The documentary focused upon the area of therapy, and how this is approached by the staff.

As part of the restoration of Bursledon Windmill, we have produced a series of films, including this Heritage documentary, to celebrate the windmill’s 200th anniversary. The repair work took two years and included the production and installation of a new windshaft and replacement sails. Hampshire Cultural Trust commissioned us to produce this short documentary to record the restoration and we also produced a series of animations for young visitors to the site. We have an excellent reputation for producing engaging, sensitive video content for heritage organisations. www.cassproductions.co.uk
Manor Farm Country Park is between Botley and Bursledon in Hampshire, to the west of the river Hamble. Woods down to the river, still wide here, a working museum farm and an old chapel.

A trip on the Alishan Forest Railway between Chiayi and Fenqihu on 23rd November 2016. The weather was rain and clouds so the view was poor most of the time. The train is formed of five air conditioned coaches with the locomotive at the rear pushing the train uphill. The leading coach is fitted with driving equipment to control the locomotive. Its not the best video but it is worth travelling to Taiwan to experience. At Fenqihu there is a museum with steam engines and a diesel. When I visited the line was closed beyond Fenqihu due to storm damage on the line. I have no idea if it will reopen.

In this instalment of Reality Bites, Angela Scanlon, the stylist and fashion journalist, explores one of Ireland's best known features: our red hair. Angela is herself a natural redhead, and in this entertaining documentary she guides us through the experiences, good and bad, of growing up as a 'Ginger'. Windmill Lane's Vinny Beirne not only edited this 52 minute doc, this is his directorial debut for David Blake Knox of Blueprint Pictures. Vinny cut three promos last week which went to RTE and consequently went viral across all social media platforms. The promos have received almost 7,500 hits on youtube. Aer Lingus have now jumped on the bandwagon and bought the rights for Oi Ginger to be shown on all transatlantic flights. Kudos are due to the Windmill Lane team involved; Post prod...
A visit to Changhua Roundhouse on 24th November 2016. The depot is open to the public on Tuesday to Saturday between 13:00 - 16:00. This is the last remaining roundhouse or "Fan Shaped Train Garage" as it is signed locally, in Taiwan. Visible on this day were various locomotives including GM-EMD G12 & G22 types, freight versions of the GE E42, steam engines CK124 & DT668, TRSC built DHL110 and withdrawn GM-EMD GA8 S318. The turntable is seen in operation as locomotives enter and leave the roundhouse building.

This is the 3nd Day of my Holiday to Norfolk. In this video we have the Bircham Windmill. Standing in the heart of Norfolk's undulating fields, Bircham Windmill now looks as it did over 100 years ago. At that time over 300 mills ground corn for horse & cattle feed and bread-making in Norfolk. Today, very few windmills are left, and Bircham Mill is considered one of the best still remaining: it is the only windmill in working order in this area open to the public. Visitors can climb the five floors up to the fan stage and, when possible, on windy days, visitors can also see the sails and the milling machinery turning. ★ Previous Episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4t1-gfWJL2Q ★ Realtime Trains: http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/ ★ Flickr : https://www.flickr.com/photos/95844524@N04/
