VIENNA, 29 June - At its forty-fifth session held on 27-29 June in Vienna, the Industrial Development Board of UNIDO unanimously agreed to recommend the incumbent, LI Yong, as candidate for the post of Director General. His appointment for a second four-year term will be considered by the UNIDO General Conference at its 17th session in November 2017.

Director General Li met today with Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq, to sign an agreement to further extend cooperation on various aspects relevant to the implementation of inclusive and sustainable industrial development in Iraq.

Director General Li today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) to cooperate closely in fields relevant to inclusive and sustainable industrial development.
