Australian boxing great Jeff Fenech has presided over the most emotional of victories for his young prospect Brock Jarvis, just one day after the triple-world champion's mother passed away in Sydney.

Jeff Horn produced an upset for the ages beating boxing legend Manny Pacquiao via unanimous decision for the WBO welterweight title.
Jarvis would wear a black armband as he took apart Indonesia's Rasmanudin in just one round on the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao-Jeff Horn fight in Brisbane on Sunday.
Fenech could barely hold back tears in the ring, while both men were deeply moved after the fight. Mary Fenech was 81 and had been reduced to less than 30kg after a battle with emphysema.
She had been a rock in Fenech's decorated career and Fenech said there was no way she would have wanted him to abandon Jarvis, a highly rated bantamweight, less than 24 hours before the biggest fight of his fledgling 10 (9KO)-0 career.
"My mum was fighting, they told me she was going to die days ago. She died last night. I'm sure she would have wanted me to be here with this kid. I didn't really sleep last night but I'm happy today for Brock but I'm sad about what happened to my family," Fenech said.

"It's happens to lots of families every day. It will be happening to someone else as we speak. I feel for them. Life goes on, I'll go home and do what need to do for my mum and family and get back in the gym and work with Brock."

"Jeff is an inspiration to me. He's someone I really look up to," Jarvis said. "Before I even knew Jeff, I used to watch his fights every day. He was my hero. Now he's training me, I feel like the luckiest kid in the world.
"It was a great atmosphere. I wasn't worried at all. I was ready to go six rounds but just caught him and hurt him."
Fenech and Jarvis also thanked the advice of legendary middleweight Roberto Duran, in town for the main event. He advised them to load up on Coke and ice cream after the weigh-in.
"We also have to give credit to Roberto Duran's ice cream and Coke yesterday. That's what we'll be doing for now."
