Parineeti Chopra

Parineeti Chopra (pronounced [pəriːniːt̪iː ˈtʃoːpɽaː]; born 22 October 1988) is an Indian actress who appears in Hindi films. She has received several awards and nominations, including a Filmfare and National Film Award. Chopra initially aspired to pursue a career in investment banking, but after obtaining a triple honours degree in business, finance and economics from Manchester Business School she returned to India during the 2009 economic recession and joined Yash Raj Films as a public relations consultant. Later, she signed a three-film deal with the company as an actress.

Chopra made her acting debut with a supporting role in the 2011 romantic comedy Ladies vs Ricky Bahl, a moderate box-office success. Her performance in the film garnered critical appreciation and earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut and a nomination for Best Supporting Actress. The following year she played the lead female role in Ishaqzaade, a romantic drama that proved to be a critical and commercial success. Chopra was widely praised for her role which earned her several nominations in the Best Actress category (including Filmfare) and won her the National Film Award – Special Mention. She also garnered praise for her performances in the successful romantic comedies Shuddh Desi Romance (2013) and Hasee Toh Phasee (2014).

Arjun Kapoor

Arjun Kapoor (pronounced [ɐrˈɟun kəˈpuːr]; born 26 June 1985) is an Indian actor who appears in Bollywood films. He is the son of film producers Boney Kapoor and Mona Shourie Kapoor. After working as an assistant director and associate producer on several films he made his acting debut with Habib Faisal's romantic drama Ishaqzaade (2012), for which he was nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. In 2014, he starred in the action film Gunday and the romance 2 States, both of which earned over ₹1 billion (US$15 million) worldwide. In addition to acting in film, Kapoor has hosted the 16th IIFA Awards ceremony in 2015 and the seventh season of the television reality show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi in 2016.

Early life and background

Kapoor was born on 26 June 1985 in Mumbai, Maharashtra to the Hindi film producer, Boney Kapoor and the entrepreneur Mona Shourie Kapoor. He is the grandson of filmmaker Surinder Kapoor. He is the nephew of actors Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor and producer Sandeep Marwah, and the first-cousin of actress Sonam Kapoor, actor Mohit Marwah and producer Rhea Kapoor. He has a sister Anshula Kapoor. The actress Sridevi is his stepmother. When asked in an interview about his father's second marriage, Kapoor said: "When we were kids, it was difficult. But what can you do? How long will you complain? You have to accept what is, take it on your chin, and move on."

Habib Faisal

Habib Faisal (Urdu: حبیب فیصل‎, Hindi: हबीब फैसल) is an Indian Hindi screenwriter and director. He is best known for his directorial debut, Do Dooni Chaar, for which he won Filmfare Award for Best Dialogue. He co-wrote Siddharth Anand's Salaam Namaste. He also wrote director Shaad Ali's Jhoom Barabar Jhoom starring Abhishek Bachchan and Preity Zinta, and Siddharth Anand's Ta Ra Rum Pum starring Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherjee. All three are Yashraj films. He also wrote Band Baaja Baaraat which was released in late 2010.

Faisal then went on to direct his second film, Ishaqzaade, starring debutant Arjun Kapoor, and Parineeti Chopra in their first lead film, which released on 11 May 2012. The film received positive response from critics, and managed to do very well at the box office, turning out to be a worldwide hit. He then wrote Bewakoofiyaan, which was directed by Nupur Asthana and featured Ayushmann Khurrana, Sonam Kapoor, and Rishi Kapoor. His next directorial venture was Daawat-e-Ishq, which had actors Aditya Roy Kapur and Parineeti Chopra in lead roles.Daawat-e-Ishq released worldwide on September 19, 2014.

Ishaqzaade

Ishaqzaade (also known as Born to Hate...Destined to Love) is a 2012 romantic thriller film written and directed by Habib Faisal, and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films.The film story was written by Habib Faisal and produced Aditya Chopra, stars debutant Arjun Kapoor, and Parineeti Chopra in their first lead film. The official trailer was unveiled on 15 March 2012, whilst the film was released on 11 May 2012. It received positive response from critics, and managed to do very well at the box office, turning out to be a worldwide hit.

Title

The title of the film is modeled on common Hindi slangs ending in zaade (meaning "son of" in Persian influenced languages such as Hindi and Urdu) for example, shahzaade (meaning "son of a king" or "prince") with the first part of the name Ishaq being a vulgar pronunciation of Ishq (meaning "passionate romantic love"). The title may be loosely translated as "Rebel Lovers" (literally "Children of Love").

Plot

Ishaqzaade depicts the passionate love story of two defiant, rebellious individuals. The Chauhans and the Qureshis are two political families whose rivalry and mutual hatred for one another goes back generations. Parma (Arjun Kapoor) is a good-for-nothing local enforcer, grandson of the patriarch chauvinist, Grandfather Chauhan, who often takes digs at Parma for being the useless son of his widowed daughter-in-law. This makes Parma try to prove himself worthy. Zoya (Parineeti Chopra), a practising Muslim who offers Salat five times a day, is the trigger-happy, hot-tempered only daughter in a traditional Muslim house full of brothers, along with her parents. She desires to go into politics like her father, but this dream is constantly laughed at by her family.

Aditya Chopra

Aditya Chopra (born 21 May 1971) is an Indian film director, producer, screenwriter, broadcast producer and distributor. His work as a director includes Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Mohabbatein (2000), Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008) and Befikre (2016) (his entry into nu-experimental cinema).,

He is also the current chairman of India's 50-year-old multi-national film, media and entertainment conglomerate, Yash Raj Films (YRF). Chopra has written and produced a number of critically acclaimed and commercially successful films under the banner like Veer-Zaara (2004), Fanaa (2006), Band Baaja Baaraat (2010), Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012) and The Dhoom Trilogy (2004, 2006 & 2013). Chopra has also tried to break away from typecast and forayed into production of off-beat films with unique subjects in projects like Kabul Express (2006), Chak De India (2007), Rocket Singh (2009), Dum Laga Ke Haisha (2015) and Fan (2016), that do not necessarily fit into the realms of Masala films. Chopra is also the first Indian film producer to move towards a true film studio model through independent projects helmed by producers, writers and directors under his YRF banner. Major production and post-production work of the company is now carried out of YRF Studios, (co-founded by Payal Khanna (design) and Yash Chopra (production) in the year 2006) where Chopra serves as Chief Executive. As of November 2015, Chopra has directed the longest running theatrical film of world cinema, produced the second highest grossing film of Indian cinema, and has theatrically distributed the third highest grossing film of Indian cinema. Chopra has also produced seven other films that have accumulated worldwide gross earnings of more than INR 200 crore (which is the most for an Indian film producer).
