Since Luminis Partners was engaged by The Growth Fund (formerly a branch of Archer Capital) in January to flog bikini line and botox centres Laser Clinics Australia, we've suspected there had to be a comedy angle. Waxing and waning fortunes? Ironing out the wrinkles? Lipstick on a pig?

But it's taken us this long to figure out just how fitting the punchline could be. LCA has none other than Luminis' fourth principal Peter Brownie as its banker, alongside legal advisers King & Wood Mallesons.

In his days at BZW (before ABN Amro ate it in 1997), Brownie famously wore a Bokhara rug on his follicularly-sparse melon. The Styrofoam head it called home during sleep hours was named Bob, rumour has it.

Given Brownie's decade of velcroed pelt proliferation, the irony of his enrichment by its painful extraction is, quite simply, marvellous. If a model's lithe limb is unavailable, we're sure his glossy noggin could stand in for the company's next TVSN testimonial.
