The Stratford-upon-Avon canal, http://www.canaljunction.com/canal/stratford.htm runs through the countryside for 25 miles from Stratford to Birmingham. It was built in the early 19th century and was restored in the 1960s. I'm not really a fan of kaleidoscopic visuals, mainly because they are too easy to create and get used too often.
BUT, I stumbled across this development and found the way that the kaleidoscope morphed the indirect patterns created by the layers in part 3 was really interesting and sat well with the song.

The festival's goal was to show the creative power of street art, liven up an other wise drab floodwall, and attract people and tourists to the outdoor art gallery that showcases the Canal Walk and Shockoe Bottom neighborhood.
RVA Street Art Festival had an amazing lineup - Hense, El Kamino, Hamilton Glass, Heidi Trepanier, Brad Bacon, Dalek, Jeff Soto, Jiha Moon, Mark Jenkins, Ryan McGinnis, Chris Milk, Mickael Broth, Susann Whittier, VIZIE, Nick Kusyk, POSE, Richard Coleman and Ed Trask.
Local celebrity artist Ed Trask and VMFA & city representative Jon Bailes put together a great program featuring a collection of local, national and international muralists. Truly unbelievable to have this come to town and we can't be more excited for next years showing.

Canal Walk
Canal Walk is a shopping centre in Cape Town, South Africa, that opened in 2000 and was built around a canal. It has a total retail area of 141,000-square-metre (1,520,000 sq ft). The centre forms the heart of a mixed-use development known as Century City, which includes office blocks, residential areas and the Ratanga Junction theme park.
Canal Walk is the 3rd largest shopping centre in Africa. Gateway Centre in Durban is the largest and the Sandton City complex in Johannesburg is larger when including the Nelson Mandela Square annex. Built in what the developers call "Cape Venetian architecture", the shopping centre hosts over 400 stores, 7,000 parking bays, numerous restaurants, 20 cinemas plus a game arcade.

Abu Dhabi

Cape Town
Cape Town (Afrikaans: Kaapstad [ˈkɑːpstɐt]; Xhosa: Ikapa) is a city in South Africa. It ranks third among the most populous urban areas in South Africa, after Johannesburg and Durban, and has roughly the same population as the Durban Metropolitan Area. Canal
Canals and navigations are human-made channels for water. In the vernacular both are referred to as 'canals'. The main difference between them is that a navigation parallels a river and shares its drainage basin, while a canal cuts across a drainage divide.
Types of artificial waterways
A navigation is a series of channels that run roughly parallel to the valley and stream bed of an unimproved river. A navigation always shares the drainage basin of the river. A vessel uses the calm parts of the river itself as well as improvements, traversing the same changes in height.
A true canal is a channel that cuts across a drainage divide, making a navigable channel connecting two different drainage basins.
Most commercially important canals of the first half of the 19th-century were a little of each, using rivers in long stretches, and divide crossing canals in others. This is true for many canals still in use.

Walking
Walking (also known as ambulation) is one of the main gaits of locomotion among legged animals, and is typically slower than running and other gaits. Walking is defined by an 'inverted pendulum' gait in which the body vaults over the stiff limb or limbs with each step. This applies regardless of the number of limbs - even arthropods, with six, eight or more limbs, walk.

I'm not really a fan of kaleidoscopic visuals, mainly because they are too easy to create and get used too often. BUT, I stumbled across this development and found the way that the kaleidoscope morphed the indirect patterns created by the layers in part 3 was really interesting and sat well with the song. RVA Street Art Festival 2012
The festival's goal was to show the creative power of street art, liven up an other wise drab floodwall, and attract people and tourists to the outdoor art gallery that showcases the Canal Walk and Shockoe Bottom neighborhood. RVA Street Art Festival had an amazing lineup - Hense, El Kamino, Hamilton Glass, Heidi Trepanier, Brad Bacon, Dalek, Jeff Soto, Jiha Moon, Mark Jenkins, Ryan McGinnis, Chris Milk, Mickael Broth, Susann Whittier, VIZIE, Nick Kusyk, POSE, Richard Coleman and Ed Trask. Local celebrity artist Ed Trask and VMFA & city representative Jon Bailes put together a great program featuring a collection of local, national and international muralists. A winter walk along the Glamorganshire canal near Forest Farm in Cardiff. It looks so different in winter but still as beautiful. The Meadows
I made this film and music as a tribute to Roger Hutchinson, aka King Learie, who died on the 3rd September 2010. King Learie had many friends and contacts here on Vimeo and I felt it was important to let those people know. Both King Learie and myself loved to walk and film on Aylestone Meadows and the adjacent canal and waterways here in Leicester. The first half of the film was shot by myself over the last couple of days. The last half consists of a collection of clips made by King Learie over the last year. King Learie was a very prolific and creative contributor to Vimeo and I will really miss his work and his comments.

Cefn Onn Park may 2010
Cefn Onn park is on the outskirts of Cardif & if you time it just right, the park is full of Rhodedendrons, Azaleas, Camelia & wild flowers. The place really starts coming to life in May & so i popped up there with my camera. I was taking a walk along the canal and saw some baby ducks swimming in the water while the mama stood on the bank above cleaning herself. I luckily had my video camera and filmed them from the other side. They swam and played completely unaware of my voyeurism. During this walk I had been thinking about existential relevance and irrelevance while shooting the surface current of the canal when I saw the ducks. After a few minutes of capturing the images I looked down the lengthways of the canal and saw some people sitting in the sun watching me watching the ducks. If they had a camera it would have been stalking and creepy. I continued my walk down the canal in the direction of the current and arrived at a bridge where I waited to watch boats pass by. Both King Learie and myself loved to walk and film on Aylestone Meadows and the adjacent canal and waterways here in Leicester. The first half of the film was shot by myself over the last couple of days. The last half consists of a collection of clips made by King Learie over the last year.
King Learie was a very prolific and creative contributor to Vimeo and I will really miss his work and his comments.

I was taking a walk along the canal and saw some baby ducks swimming in the water while the mama stood on the bank above cleaning herself. I luckily had my video camera and filmed them from the other side. They swam and played completely unaware of my voyeurism.
During this walk I had been thinking about existential relevance and irrelevance while shooting the surface current of the canal when I saw the ducks. After a few minutes of capturing the images I looked down the lengthways of the canal and saw some people sitting in the sun watching me watching the ducks. If they had a camera it would have been stalking and creepy.
I continued my walk down the canal in the direction of the current and arrived at a bridge where I waited to watch boats pass by. I thought about how little time I spend in the real world compared to the theoretical vacuum of my studio. Why is it that I must have one or the other? My last real summer was in 2006 before diving into so many projects. Since then I rarely leave the house unless it's necessary.. I've decided to have both. From now on, every day that I have free this summer will have at least one hour spent outside taking audio and visual samples. Each day will be an individual piece to a greater summer project. They can be of anything, substance is irrelevant.

Trinity College was founded in 1592 and it is the oldest university in Ireland. The campus is open to visitors interested in touring the grounds, and you'll also get to hear some fascinating stories of famous students, including the likes of Oscar Wilde, Jonathan Swift, and Bram Stoker.
The Guinness Storehouse is Dublin's most popular attraction, and it's a must-visit for beer lovers. The Storehouse covers seven floors surrounding a glass atrium shaped like a pint of Guinness. Inside you'll also find a copy of the 9,000 year lease signed by Arthur Guinness on the brewery site - they won't be going anywhere for a while!
Grafton Street is one of the main shopping areas in Dublin. You're likely to find lots of musicians, buskers, and performers along here, plus you get a good vantage point of The Spire.
Prior to the establishment of Glasnevin Cemetery, Irish Catholics had no place of their own to bury their dead. This burial ground gave both Irish Catholics and Protestants a place where they could give their dead dignified burial, and it has since become the resting place for people of all religions and non religions.
Experience Gaelic Games is a place where you can come and try traditional Irish sports like hurling and Gaelic football.
The Old Jameson Distillery is the original site where Jameson Irish Whiskey was distilled until 1971. It is now a visitor centre that offers both guided tours and whiskey tastings.

So this week we're excited to be exploring Dublin and we're planning to spend an entire week here. This video is going to highlight 25 things to do around the city. Dublin is where most trips in Ireland begin, so before seeing the rest of the country, Audrey and I spent a whole week getting to know the capital. When the weather cooperated we walked around the city, toured Trinity College, and visited the botanical gardens, and when it poured rain as it often does in this part of the world, we just popped into a pub for some Irish stew and a pint of Guinness. The following video will show you a few of the different things to do in Dublin, Ireland.

Trinity College was founded in 1592 and it is the oldest university in Ireland. The campus is open to visitors interested in touring the grounds, and you'll also get to hear some fascinating stories of famous students, including the likes of Oscar Wilde, Jonathan Swift, and Bram Stoker.
The Guinness Storehouse is Dublin's most popular attraction, and it's a must-visit for beer lovers. The Storehouse covers seven floors surrounding a glass atrium shaped like a pint of Guinness. Inside you'll also find a copy of the 9,000 year lease signed by Arthur Guinness on the brewery site - they won't be going anywhere for a while!
Grafton Street is one of the main shopping areas in Dublin. You're likely to find lots of musicians, buskers, and performers along here, plus you get a good vantage point of The Spire.
Prior to the establishment of Glasnevin Cemetery, Irish Catholics had no place of their own to bury their dead. This burial ground gave both Irish Catholics and Protestants a place where they could give their dead dignified burial, and it has since become the resting place for people of all religions and non religions.
Experience Gaelic Games is a place where you can come and try traditional Irish sports like hurling and Gaelic football.
The Old Jameson Distillery is the original site where Jameson Irish Whiskey was distilled until 1971. It is now a visitor centre that offers both guided tours and whiskey tastings.
Temple Bar is an area known for its lively nightlife. Located on the southbank of the River Liffey, you'll find all sorts of pubs playing live music once the sun goes down. There's also one pub in Temple Bar, called The Temple Bar, but don't let that confuse you.

In 1567, the much-traveled Italian, Lodovico Guicciardini, referred to Amsterdam as 'The Venice of the North'. Today, the view across the main square and royal castle gives little hint that the city is supported by stakes and that Amsterdam is the largest lakeland village in the world.
The bicycle is one of the city's main features. Parking spaces have been designed specially for this mode of transport and it shows that even in a large city, there is an alternative way of getting about.
In the city centre, there are nearly 7,000 protected houses and warehouses, most of which date back to the 18th and 19th centuries. The 300 year old Magere Brug is of wood construction and is one of the most beautiful drawbridges in the world.
The Bloemenmarkt has been in existence since the 17th century and in bygone days, fresh flowers were delivered by boat and sold on board. Here a great variety of colorful tulips and bulbs is offered for sale, as well as many exotic plants and seeds.
New Church is almost 600 years old but due to it's lack of worshippers, it is now used as a venue for exhibitions and concerts which fund its continued maintenance. Built around 1300 A.D., Old Church is the oldest religious building in the city. During the Middle Ages, it served as a refuge for vagrants but today it is surrounded by a sex and entertainment district.
In 1682, the city fathers decided to create a leisure area east of the city, in the centre of which the Artis Zoo was subsequently established, the oldest zoo on the European continent.
Amsterdam possesses an inescapable charm that is adored by both aged hippies and trendy teenagers alike. It is Europe's irresistible 'Capital of Cool'!

The Meadows
I made this film and music as a tribute to Roger Hutchinson, aka King Learie, who died on the 3rd September 2010. King Learie had many friends and contacts here on Vimeo and I felt it was important to let those people know. Both King Learie and myself loved to walk and film on Aylestone Meadows and the adjacent canal and waterways here in Leicester. The first half of the film was shot by myself over the last couple of days. The last half consists of a collection of clips made by King Learie over the last year. King Learie was a very prolific and creative contributor to Vimeo and I will really miss his work and his comments.

Cefn Onn park is on the outskirts of Cardif & if you time it just right, the park is full of Rhodedendrons, Azaleas, Camelia & wild flowers. The place really starts coming to life in May & so i popped up there with my camera. I was taking a walk along the canal and saw some baby ducks swimming in the water while the mama stood on the bank above cleaning herself. I luckily had my video camera and filmed them from the other side. They swam and played completely unaware of my voyeurism. During this walk I had been thinking about existential relevance and irrelevance while shooting the surface current of the canal when I saw the ducks. After a few minutes of capturing the images I looked down the lengthways of the canal and saw some people sitting in the sun watching me watching the ducks. If they had a camera it would have been stalking and creepy. I continued my walk down the canal in the direction of the current and arrived at a bridge where I waited to watch boats pass by. The festival's goal was to show the creative power of street art, liven up an other wise drab floodwall, and attract people and tourists to the outdoor art gallery that showcases the Canal Walk and Shockoe Bottom neighborhood.
RVA Street Art Festival had an amazing lineup - Hense, El Kamino, Hamilton Glass, Heidi Trepanier, Brad Bacon, Dalek, Jeff Soto, Jiha Moon, Mark Jenkins, Ryan McGinnis, Chris Milk, Mickael Broth, Susann Whittier, VIZIE, Nick Kusyk, POSE, Richard Coleman and Ed Trask.
Local celebrity artist Ed Trask and VMFA & city representative Jon Bailes put together a great program featuring a collection of local, national and international muralists. Truly unbelievable to have this come to town and we can't be more excited for next years showing.

I made this film and music as a tribute to Roger Hutchinson, aka King Learie, who died on the 3rd September 2010.
King Learie had many friends and contacts here on Vimeo and I felt it was important to let those people know.
Both King Learie and myself loved to walk and film on Aylestone Meadows and the adjacent canal and waterways here in Leicester. The first half of the film was shot by myself over the last couple of days. The last half consists of a collection of clips made by King Learie over the last year.
King Learie was a very prolific and creative contributor to Vimeo and I will really miss his work and his comments.

I was taking a walk along the canal and saw some baby ducks swimming in the water while the mama stood on the bank above cleaning herself. I luckily had my video camera and filmed them from the other side. They swam and played completely unaware of my voyeurism.
During this walk I had been thinking about existential relevance and irrelevance while shooting the surface current of the canal when I saw the ducks. After a few minutes of capturing the images I looked down the lengthways of the canal and saw some people sitting in the sun watching me watching the ducks. If they had a camera it would have been stalking and creepy.
I continued my walk down the canal in the direction of the current and arrived at a bridge where I waited to watch boats pass by. I thought about how little time I spend in the real world compared to the theoretical vacuum of my studio. Why is it that I must have one or the other? My last real summer was in 2006 before diving into so many projects. Since then I rarely leave the house unless it's necessary.. I've decided to have both. From now on, every day that I have free this summer will have at least one hour spent outside taking audio and visual samples. Each day will be an individual piece to a greater summer project. They can be of anything, substance is irrelevant.
