Mobile Resources

The ACC has partnered with various organizations to create a variety of resources optimized for smart phones and tablets. These apps fall into three categories: Clinical, Cardiovascular Publications, and Member Engagement.

Clinical

ACCSAP 8

The ASCVD Risk Estimator is published jointly by the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the American Heart Association (AHA) to help health care providers and patients estimate 10-year and lifetime risks for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) using the Pooled Cohort Equations and lifetime risk prediction tools. This app is intended as a companion tool to the 2013 ACC/AHA Guideline on the Assessment of Cardiovascular Risk and the 2013 ACC/AHA Guideline on the Treatment of Blood Cholesterol to Reduce Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Risk in Adults.

The ASCVD Risk Estimator provides easy access to recommendations specific to calculated risk estimates. Additionally, the app includes readily accessible guideline reference information for both providers and patients related to therapy, monitoring, and lifestyle. Find out more >>>

AnticoagEvaluator

The AnticoagEvaluator helps clinicians make well-informed decisions on antithrombotic therapy for their non-valvular AF patients. Use this app to:

  • Calculate a patient's renal function and risk of ischemic stroke, thromboembolism, and bleed
  • Review Guideline-driven therapy guidance for stroke prevention
  • Generate individualized risk for antithrombotic therapy options based on individual clinical trials
  • Improve accurate use of DOACs with adjusted dosage based on prescribing information, fine-tuned for renal and other patient characteristics

The AnticoagEvaluator is available on the web, and all Apple and Android phones and tablets." Find out more >>>

BridgeAnticoag app

New! The BridgeAnticoag app supports clinicians across specialties in safely managing anticoagulation around an invasive procedure for NVAF patients. The app calculates patient and procedural risk to provide individualized advice that balances bleed and stroke risk.

Use the app to assess whether and how to:

  • Interrupt anticoagulation
  • Bridge anticoagulation
  • Restart anticoagulation

Email yourself a detailed report of the app assessment.

ACC CathPCI Bleeding Risk Calculator App

The ACC CathPCI Bleeding Risk Calculator App helps clinicians assess the individualized patient risk of experiencing a bleeding event associated with a PCI procedure. Clinicians can compare individual patient risk to the national average based on data from the CathPCI Registry®. The App facilitates consistent risk assessment and communication between a clinician and patient about the overall PCI procedure. Find out more >>>

DAPT Risk Calculator

The ACC DAPT Risk Calculator App provides decision support for clinicians evaluating the continuation of DAPT therapy for patients at least 12 months post-PCI procedure, and the risk/benefit of continuing or discontinuing DAPT. The App provides a DAPT Risk Score as a numerical value between -2 and +9, where higher DAPT scores suggest that the benefit/risk ratio with prolonged DAPT may be favorable. Conversely, lower DAPT scores suggest that the benefit/risk ratio with prolonged DAPT is NOT favorable. It also calculates the percentage of risk for three end points: myocardial infarction (MI), stent thrombosis, major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events (MACCE), and bleeding.

The DAPT Risk Calculator is currently available in App Store and on Google Play. Find out more >>>

Focus App

The FOCUS App is a decision support tool for clinicians that helps guide and improve appropriate ordering of cardiovascular imaging and tests. The app provides official ACC Appropriate Use Criteria (AUC) ratings and decision algorithms for SPECT MPI, PET, stress echo and CTA to drive clinical decision making for your patient. It automatically calculates risk and pretest probability based on the patient's age, gender and clinical risk factors to derive accurate AUC ratings. The app is currently available for use on iPad.
