New Mexico (Spanish: Nuevo México [ˈnweβo ˈmexiko]; Navajo: Yootó Hahoodzo [jo:tó haho:dzo]) is a state located in the southwestern region of the United States. It was admitted to the union as the 47th state on January 6, 1912. It is usually considered one of the Mountain States. New Mexico is the fifth-most extensive, the 36th-most populous, and the sixth-least densely populated of the 50 United States.
Inhabited by indigenous peoples of the Americas for many centuries before European exploration, New Mexico was subsequently part of the Imperial Spanish viceroyalty of New Spain. Later, it was part of Mexico before becoming a U.S. territory and eventually a U.S. state. Among U.S. states, New Mexico has the highest percentage of Hispanics, including descendants of Spanish colonists who have lived in the area for more than 400 years. It also has the second-highest percentage of Native Americans after Alaska, and the fourth-highest total number of Native Americans after California, Oklahoma, and Arizona. The nations in the state consist of mostly Navajo, Pueblo, and Apache peoples. As a result, the demographics and culture of the state are unique for their strong Hispanic and Native American influences, both of which are reflected in the state flag. The scarlet and gold colors of the New Mexico flag are taken from the royal standards of Spain, along with the ancient sun symbol of the Zia, a Pueblo-related tribe.

Albuquerque, New Mexico Dec-6-2016 11:30 PM off of Central and San Mateo intersection. A friend was afraid to go to this store that late by herself since the parking lot around it is a bit sketchy, I live a couple of blocks and was hungry so I decided to accompany her to the store for a bit and look around then leave and check out Carls Jr. I walked back to my car and you can hear me say goodbye and good night. I take off and you can see the car pull out, drive in front of my friend still sitting in the lot then behind me exiting the parking lot. if you look at both angles, you can see he followed me from the get go. The police officer also said my driving was decent given the circumstances. I handled the situation correctly by not stopping and engaging. whatever they threw at me did not...

The Land of Enchantment still echos with voices from its colorful past. These voices speak especially clearly from the ghost towns, mining camps, and little-known places that populate New Mexico's landscape. New Mexico's story is rich with history, from the Ancient Puebloan Indians, to Spanish explorers, pioneers traveling along the Santa Fe Trail, and prospectors in the 19th century. These many folks left their "footprints," not only along the many old trails in the "Land of Enchantment," but also on the many ruins and ghost towns that remain. Cuchillo, established by ranchers and farmers in the 1850s, was named for a nearby creek and a local Apache chief, Cuchillo Negro (Black Knife). Midway between the mines at Chloride and Winston and the railroad at Engle, it flourished as a stag...

Once upon a time in New Mexico, a handful of dudes in a giant van drove and flew thousands of miles in search of the perfect rail. With Jeff Z as the trusty tour guide, they discovered plenty of setups in a little sleepy town found in the state’s northern mountains. Justin Simpson, Gary Young, Sean Sexton and George Boyd were all aboard for the mission. Sean had the misfortune of piercing a giant hole in his knee within what was probably only 15 minutes of getting out of the van so he’s a little MIA in this video. Fortunately, our TM and all around shredder Jim Bauer was on hand to score some extra clips and annihilate the longest rail in sight. This is our latest ODSY Vision. Enjoy. The streets of this district overflow with museums and galleries. For a window into the life and color of yesteryear, visit the fabulous Museo Franz Mayer. On the tiny island of Holbox, a stone's throw from the Mexico mainland, lives a legendary angler named Sandflea. People from all over the world travel here to fish with him. One such gringo is Mike Dawes, who stumbled into Sandflea's welcoming home years ago and quickly became family. On land, Sandflea's a dad, a grandfather, the unofficial mayor, a teacher, and the main source of dinner for his neighbors and friends. On the water, he's as schooled as they come when it comes to permit and tarpon. But a childhood bout of Scarlet fever weakened Sandflea's heart and has led him to multiple surgeries. His willingness to share with all of us makes it all the more ironic . . . the guy with the biggest heart needs a new one. This is the story of the unlikely friendship between two anglers and the...
On September 11th 2015 I took the Texas Eagle Amtrak train from LA to Austin. The train passes through the states of California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas, taking nearly 33 hours to complete this leg of the journey, before continuing on up to Chicago. This short film comprises a number of clips I took from the train window, mostly in Arizona and Texas. I highly recommended seeing America this way. Though it's not the most comfortable way to travel you'll see things and meet people you rarely would travelling by car or plane. Music is 'Exit Does Not Exist' by Sun Kil Moon, taken from his album of Modest Mouse covers. A record I was listening to a lot at the time. Shot on my iPhone 6 using the Hyperlapse app (for stabilisation), edited in Premiere Pro. Full details of the train rou...
November 9, 2012 www.LifeofBrennan.com There are moments in life when you just need to be bold and follow your heart. For me it came just before the end of my sophomore year of college. I realized I was on a path where I’d most likely graduate, get a job, start a family, and work until retirement, and where many people may aspire to have all this, I knew I needed something different. With the help of a cousin I was able to get connected with an orphanage in Guatemala where I could volunteer. So I took a semester off and flew to Central America to begin what would be a life changing experience. I once heard that life is 10 percent of what happens to us and 90 percent of how we react to it, and by being immersed in that culture and living with those children I learned this lesson first...

The Dead Files S07E12 Vengeance Albuquerque, New Mexico
Donald Trump 4 24 2016 in Albuquerque New Mexico
Donald Trump Albuquerque New Mexico FULL Speech 10/30/16
New Mexico down on Central Avenue
Where the old highway goes running through
And all that I can do ,all that I can do
Is think of you
With someone new
I got a job waiting tables in the middle of the night
See the sunrise in my rear view mirror
Wake up to see the last of its light
But I don't mind, no I don't mind
Because that hot desert sun beating down on this side
of town
Well it ain't a pretty sight
A few old men and some young drunks they'll try to make
a pass
But I just have to look them straight in the eye
And I say please don't even ask
'Cause there's no one who, there's no one who
Can make my tired old life
Seem new and unused
I guess there's always gotta be someone out on the
highway
Laying down all that tar
And there's always gotta be someone serving up the
drinks
Down at the bar
But I don't want to be slaving my life away
If it's just to pay for all the things I never knew
quite how to say
Dirty old blackbird landed on my window sill
I didn't want him to leave so I sat there watching him
perfectly still
Until he finally flew, and when he finally flew
I asked him to cut a hole in the morning sky
