Kinosaki (城崎町, Kinosaki-chō) was a town in Kinosaki District, Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan.
On April 1, 2005, Kinosaki, along with the towns of Hidaka and Takeno (all from Kinosaki District), and the towns of Izushi and Tantō (both from Izushi District), was merged into the expanded city of Toyooka and no longer exists as an independent municipality.
As of 1 October 2010, the Kinosaki district of Toyooka has an estimated population of 3,778.
Kinosaki is famous as a resort area, with onsen (Japanese hot springs). In 1913, the writer Shiga Naoya came to Kinosaki and stayed there for three weeks. Kinosaki provided inspiration for his short story, Kinosaki ni te or "In Kinosaki".
There are seven public onsen bath houses in Kinosaki Onsen. Tourists staying in most of the ryokans (Japanese traditional inns) in Kinosaki can receive a free pass to all seven. It is common for tourists staying in Kinosaki Onsen to walk around in yukata, this saves them having to change into their own clothes every time they use an onsen.

Kinosaki Onsen (城崎温泉) is located in northern Hyogo Prefecture on the coast of the Sea of Japan. This pleasant town, built along a willow-lined river, is one of the top onsen destinations of the Kansai Region. Hot springs were discovered in Kinosaki around the 8th century and since then the town has developed into a charmingly old-fashioned onsen town. In the evenings guests of the local ryokan stroll about town in yukata and geta (wooden clogs), visiting the numerous public baths and nostalgic game arcades (Japan Guide, 2015). Snow crabs are especially popular in this town and you can pick up some pamphlets about them from the train station. The crabs are from Tsuiyama Harbor and Shibayama Harbor and are usually caught from early November till around mid-March. Definitely go here for t...
Kinosaki 城崎町 is a town formerly located in Kinosaki District, Hyōgo, Japan. Kinosaki is famous as a resort area, with onsen (Japanese hot springs). In 1913, the writer Shiga Naoya came to Kinosaki and stayed there for three weeks. Kinosaki provided inspiration for his short story. A feature is the fountains in the square where mesh bags of eggs can be immersed and boiled while you wait. There are several small ponds of running hot water where one can sit by the edge of the road and relax while soaking one's feet. A ropeway at the far end of the street take visitors to the lookout or one can walk there.
Put on your yukata and step back in time to traditional Japan. More than just hot springs; there is so much to discover in Kinosaki Onsen- from beautiful natural scenery, to lively nightlife. To stay in Kinosaki is take a trip away from the ordinary; dip into healing waters, stroll around in yukata, and meet the friendly locals. You are sure to find relaxation, and maybe even a new side to yourself.
I decided to go on a spontaneous trip to Kinosaki over the weekend. Located at the Japanese Sea, Kinosaki is known across Japan for being one of the best onsen places. Seven public baths can be found throughout the village. Each one being a little different than the rest. And the best thing? If you stay at one of the many charming ryokans you get an all access pass to these onsen allowing you to make the most out of your trip. At the edge of the town a ropeway can be found that’ll take you to the top of one of the many mountains giving you an incredible view of the surrounding area and the nearby Japanese sea. All in all, Kinosaki is well worth a trip. Next time, I’ll make sure to stay a few nights as I had to rush quite a bit to try and experience as much as possible within the limited ...

Kinosaki is situated in northern Hyogo and has the Kinosaki-onsen Hot Spring Resort spreading along the Otani-gawa River branching off from the Maruyama-gawa River. Legend has it that the place was found in the 8th century by Dochi-shonin, a Buddhist saint. It is lined with community bathhouses, such as Ko-no-yu (hot spring of stork) that the legend says was used by storks to heal wounds, Sato-no-yu, Ichi-no-yu and Jizo-yu. The name Kinosaki became known all over the country when it appeared in a novel "Kinosaki Nite" (At Kinosaki) by Naoya Shiga, a famous novelist in the early 20th century. At Onsen-ji Station of the Kinosaki-onsen Ropeway is the Onsen-ji Temple believed to have been erected by Dochi-shonin, in which the standing images of Eleven-Faced Kan'non (Goddess of Mercy) and Eleve...

I went to Kinosaki Onsen this year too. Breakfast at the inn. This inn name is Ashigaru. Fluke is usual served. But today there was a salmon. Today there was also a crab steamed rice which is not served normally. Steamed rice contains crabs. There are boiled crabs that I could not finish eating last night. This is also good. ビデオカメラは SONY HDR-PJ790V を使って撮影しました。 60pでの撮影です。 編集はEDIUS 8です。 A video camera is SONY HDR-PJ790V.
Kenny you almost made it,
I'd say you were halfway there
Kenny your hands are frozen,
and this is so unfair
What would you do,
given a chance to meet God?
Where did you go, why did you die,
I was a doctor, so where was I?
Kenny the moment's passed us by,
moments turn to days
Turning confidence away,
self assuredness to shame
What would you do,
given a chance to meet God?
Where did you go, why did you die,
I was a doctor, so where was...
