A Trailer for Kamikaze Drama Orewa Kimi no tamenikoso Shiniyuku
The official site for Toei's big budget historical war film, Orewa Kimi no tamenikoso Shiniyuku (literal translation: "I will die only for you above all"), starring Satoru Tokushige and Yosuke Kubozuka (Ping Pong) has been updated with a trailer. Interesting to note that the executive producer and screenwriter is Shintaro Ishihara who happens to be the governor of Tokyo. Here's a brief synopsis according to the good folks from Hoga News:
The story is the real-world stories of Kamikaze squad members and will be told through the eyes of late Tome Torihama, who were looked upon by the members as "mother of Kamikaze".
The film is scheduled for released in the summer of 2007.
For Those We Love tells Kamikaze story
Ore wa, kimi no tame ni koso shini ni iku (For Those We Love) is a film that tackles a controversial subject, perhaps more controversial these days through incorrect association with the modern day subject of suicide bombers, for the film looks at World War II Kamikaze pilots.
Wings of Defeat tells of surviving Kamikaze pilots
It seems that the idea of Kamikaze pilots is becoming a hot topic in Japanese cinema at the moment, as a new documentary is released that looks into the men who were destined to die for their country, and it reveals some fascinating insights.
"I wanted to live," Kazuo Nakajima, one of the now elderly 'failed cherry blossoms' tells the filmmakers with an embarrassed laugh. "I didn't want to die."
"We were told we were killing madmen. We were lied to"
We thought we were fighting and giving our lives for our families and our comrades," said Masaaki Kobayashi, 79, after watching the film with a group of his former comrades. "As soldiers, that was the only thing we could do."
These films mark a battle that is going on inside Japan on the field of education. Some believe, and are actively carrying out their beliefs now, that the history of Japan should be toned down when taught to the younger generation.
The Government have been altering references to the terrible battle in Okinawa during World War II where 200,000 civilians and soldiers were killed. References to the soldiers ordering the civilians to commit suicide rather than surrender have been drastically toned down.
Others believe that the past history should be taught to the young in all its harsh reality. Some of the comments from viewers of the film make much more sense:
"We shouldn't beautify it, but we shouldn't forget it either Everyone knew Japan was losing. They should have surrendered sooner."
The documentary reveals rough figures that are quite startling. Some 4,000 kamikaze pilots died for the loss of 34 U.S. ships in the last few months of the war.
It may be controversial and tough to watch, however I do believe that none of the past events of humanity should be obscured and forgotten, and if they can be brought out and recorded in an unbiased way, then they should. Hiding the past may mean we are more likely to make the same mistakes again.

Cherry Blossoms (film)
Cherry Blossoms (German: Kirschblüten – Hanami) is a 2008 German drama film directed by Doris Dörrie. This film, starring Elmar Wepper, Hannelore Elsner and Aya Irizuki, tells the story of Rudi: terminally ill, he travels to Japan after the sudden death of his wife Trudi – in order to make up for missed opportunities in life.
Plot
The story culminates in a pilgrimage to Mount Fuji in the midst of the cherry blossom season, a celebration of beauty, impermanence, and new beginnings.
Trudi (Hannelore Elsner) and Rudi (Elmar Wepper) are an affectionate, long-married couple whose children have grown up and moved away. They live in a small Bavarian village. Trudi learns that her husband is terminally ill. The doctor suggests a final adventure, which the two wanted to have for some time, but never managed.
Trudi decides to keep the disease secret from Rudi. She manages to convince him to visit their children and grandchildren in Berlin. But when they arrive, they realize that their children are too busy with their own lives to take care of the parents. Then they decide to drive to the Baltic Sea. But there, Trudi suddenly dies. Rudi is thrown completely off track and doesn't know how to go on. After he learns from his daughter's girlfriend that Trudi has actually sacrificed her life out of love for him, he starts to see his dead wife with new eyes.

The story is the real-world stories of Kamikaze squad members and will be told through the eyes of late Tome Torihama, who were looked upon by the members as "mother of Kamikaze".

It seems that the idea of Kamikaze pilots is becoming a hot topic in Japanese cinema at the moment, as a new documentary is released that looks into the men who were destined to die for their country, and it reveals some fascinating insights.
"I wanted to live," Kazuo Nakajima, one of the now elderly 'failed cherry blossoms' tells the filmmakers with an embarrassed laugh. "I didn't want to die."
"We were told we were killing madmen. We were lied to"
We thought we were fighting and giving our lives for our families and our comrades," said Masaaki Kobayashi, 79, after watching the film with a group of his former comrades. "As soldiers, that was the only thing we could do."
These films mark a battle that is going on inside Japan on the field of education. Some believe, and are actively carrying out their beliefs now, that the history of Japan should be toned down when taught to the younger generation.
The Government have been altering references to the terrible battle in Okinawa during World War II where 200,000 civilians and soldiers were killed. References to the soldiers ordering the civilians to commit suicide rather than surrender have been drastically toned down.
Others believe that the past history should be taught to the young in all its harsh reality. Some of the comments from viewers of the film make much more sense:
"We shouldn't beautify it, but we shouldn't forget it either Everyone knew Japan was losing. They should have surrendered sooner."
The documentary reveals rough figures that are quite startling. Some 4,000 kamikaze pilots died for the loss of 34 U.S. ships in the last few months of the war.
It may be controversial and tough to watch, however I do believe that none of the past events of humanity should be obscured and forgotten, and if they can be brought out and recorded in an unbiased way, then they should. Hiding the past may mean we are more likely to make the same mistakes again.

2010 The cherry blossoms in Osaka. 大阪城公園へ満開の桜を見に行ってきました。たくさんの花見客で賑わい、とても楽しそうでした。西の丸庭園へは初めて入ったのですが、素晴らしい場所だったので驚きました。造幣局の桜の通り抜けへも初めて行ったのですが、こちらも大阪城では見ることのできない様々な種類の桜が咲き乱れ、本当に美しく、素晴らしい場所でした。 前半は大阪城公園を中心としたムービー、後半は造幣局のフォトムービーとなっています。(^o^) In Osaka Castle Park, Many people can be seen were enjoying the cherry blossoms in full bloom again this year. 大阪城公園へ満開の桜を見に行ってきました。たくさんの花見客で賑わい、とても楽しそうでした。西の丸庭園へは初めて入ったのですが、素晴らしい場所だったので驚きました。造幣局の桜の通り抜けへも初めて行ったのですが、こちらも大阪城では見ることのできない様々な種類の桜が咲き乱れ、本当に美しく、素晴らしい場所でした。
前半は大阪城公園を中心としたムービー、後半は造幣局のフォトムービーとなっています。(^o^)
In Osaka Castle Park, Many people can be seen were enjoying the cherry blossoms in full bloom again this year. It was really great week.
Osaka castle park is a beautiful spot filled with full bloomed cherry blossoms. Over 4000 cherry trees are plantent on the spacious ground of Osaka Castle. A particularly nice place for a picnic is Nishinomaru Garden in the castle's western citadel with wide lawns, views of the castle tower and light up in the evening.
And, The cherry blossoms in Osaka Mint Bureau is a must-see for everyone. Cherry blossom viewing in Osaka Mint Bureau is an amazing experience. The spot offers a beautiful sight of a variety of cherries. More than 300 trees of over 100 varieties, mostly later blooming yae-zakura trees can be viewed on the premises of the Osaka Mint Bureau during one week in mid April, about one week after the end of the regular cherry blossom season.

버스커버스커 1집은 전곡의 작사/작곡(일부 공동 작사/작곡)을 담당한 장범준의 자전적 경험을 바탕으로 누구나 한번쯤 느껴본 적 있는 사랑의 다양한 감정을 버스커버스커 특유의 색깔로 담아냈다. 길을 걷다 발걸음을 저절로 멈추게 하는 쉽고 친숙한 멜로디에, 솔직하면서도 넘치지 않게 또래의 감성을 진솔하게 담아낸 노랫말은 자연스레 청춘이라는 단어를 연상시킨다. 이들 세 사람이 연주하는 버스커버스커의 음악은 이미 청춘을 지난 사람에게도, 그 한복판을 지나고 있는 사람에게도, 심지어 아직 청춘이 오지 않은 사람에게도 '청춘이란 이런 것'이라는 보편적 공감대를 형성하기에 충분하다.
또한 이번 앨범은 데뷔 앨범인만큼 밴드로서 버스커버스커 성격을 고스란히 드러낸 앨범이기도 하다. 길거리 공연 시절부터 초보자도 따라 연주하기 쉬운 코드로 곡을 만들고 공연을 해온 이들은 앨범을 듣는 사람들이 '밴드하고 싶다'는 마음이 들었으면 하는 생각을 염두에 두고 만들었다. 특히 기타, 베이스, 드럼이라는 가장 기본적인 악기셋으로 구성된 밴드인만큼 소리의 질감을 살린 프로듀싱을 통해 악기 각각의 소리와 그 조합을 고스란히 느낄 수 있게 하는데 초점을 맞췄다. 진성과 가성을 넘나들며 특유의 떨림을 전하는 장범준의 보컬과 곡을 리드하는 기타, 리듬감이 돋보이는 김형태의 베이스, 국적을 넘어 모두를 흥분시키는 브래드의 드럼이 합쳐져 완성된 사운드를 통해 이들의 진정한 탄생을 알리고 있다.

Spring is the time for flowers! The pinks and whites of flowering cherry trees just make me so happy.
This painting has a dirty flip cup acrylic poured background and then the flowers are made by layering drops of pinks and white paint and dragging a ball end stylus through to make the flower petals.
The All of the paints were mixed equal measures of the paint and Golden Polymer Medium Gloss.
Paints:
DecoArt Crafter's Acrylics in Island Blue and Tutti Fruity Pink.
Plaid Color Shift- Black Flash
Behr Premium Plus Ultra - Nano White
6x6 inch (15 cm x 15 cm) stretched canvas
5 ml Pipettes (big droppers)
Ball end Stylus Nail Tool
There's no silicon oil or torching in my projects as I really worry about the possible side effects of burning the acrylic paints and the materials they are made from.
We all have to weigh the pros and cons of how we interact with our art supplies. Experimenting can be exciting and beautiful but there can be consequences we don't know about yet. As with any thing in life be informed by reputable sources and your own common sense. :)
I have a creative spirit that loves to explore and experiment with all kinds of Arts and Craft! I hope you have fun while you join me on my creative adventures!
