35 - Adopt a shelter dog, don't support puppy mills w/ Tammy Dupal
Each year 2.7 million dogs are killed every year because shelters are too full and there aren’t enough adoptive homes. It's estimated that 2.11 million puppies are sold that originated from puppy mills
Only 1 out of every 10 dogs born will find a permanent home, and homeless animals outnumber homeless people 5 to 1. Less than 10% of the animals received by shelters have been spayed or neutered. Overpopulation, due to owners letting their pets accidentally or intentionally reproduce, sees millions of these “excess” animals killed annually.
Many strays are lost pets that were not kept properly indoors or provided with identification. According to the National Council on Pet Population Study and Policy (NCPPSP), less than 15 to 20% of dogs are returned to their owners.

We are joined by Tammy Dupal from Twisted Tails animal rescue to discuss puppy mills and shelter dogs. Tammy spends weeks and countless hours just to rescue stray dogs. She tells a few amazing and heartwarming stories of her rescue missions. This episode might make you tear up a little bit as you hear about the conditions these dogs are in, but by the end you will smile knowing they all went to a forever home and are given a second chance to live a normal healthy happy life.

Here is what the press are saying about it:
"Annotated" nails Lovecraft's sense of dread, then hammers you over the head in the end!
-- Craig Mullins, Unfilmable.com
"Annotated" is quite a well directed film, and even though there is no dialogue, the suspense of what will happen next keeps you captivated throughout...
-- Monique Snyman, KillerAphrodite.com
Drawing inspiration from H.P. Lovecraft, "Annotated" is an engaging and suspenseful short.
-- Scott Shoyer, AnythingHorror.com
and other film makers:
"Annotated" captures more Lovecraftian dread and unnameable weirdness in its nine quiet minutes than most bombastic, bloated, feature-length films that purport to do the same! I was genuinely creeped out, which is rare these days.
-- Mel House, director of "Closet Space" and the upcoming Lionsgate release, "Psychic Experiment"
"Annotated" is a fantastic representation of an intelligent filmmaker in-the-making simply getting his feet wet and blowing most long-term directors out of the water. Stylistically, it will intrigue any fan of Horror, Experimental, and the French New Wave. If David Lynch would have had access to digital technology in the 80's, he would have made "Annotated".
-- Shannon Lark, actress, writer, director, founder of the Viscera Film Festival
"Annotated" is a mysterious gem that leaves you, like its protagonist, wanting to know more.
-- Lori Bowen, director of "aftershock" and "JustUs"
"Very nice work. Loved it!"
-- Drew Daywalt, Daywalt Fear Factory, MTV's "Death Valley"
