Lane 8

Daniel Goldstein, better known by his stage name Lane 8, is an American born musician, electronic music producer, and DJ. Currently residing in Leipzig, Germany, the 26-year-old has signed to English deep house label Anjunadeep. Pete Tong named Lane 8 a ‘Future Star’ and Dancing Astronaut included him in their '25 Artists to Watch in 2015.' His debut artist album 'Rise', was released on July 17, 2015.

History

The Lane 8 moniker originated back when Goldstein made garage rock with his sister when they were kids. He later started experimenting with hip-hop beats after being influenced by Pete Rock and DJ Premier. At some point in 2012, "Lane 8 really found his groove with his sound fitting between pulsing electronica and a woozier kind of glitch-pop" putting him on the radar of Anjunadeep A&R executive Jody Wisternoff. In 2013, he signed to Anjunadeep, where he released his debut album in the summer of 2015. He has previously described his sound as "dreamy back rub house."

Career

Daniel has carved out a space for himself in the crowded dance music scene with his ability to craft music that appeals to both upbeat clubbing and relaxed at-home listening – a skill that has landed him a wide range of DJ support. Everyone from The Magician to ODESZA, and Above & Beyond to Annie Mac have heavily supported his music, landing the Anjunadeep-signee a spot on inthemix's “Top 25 Trail-Blazing Producers” list.

Lane

In the context of traffic control, a lane is part of a carriageway (roadway) that is designated for use by a single line of vehicles, to control and guide drivers and reduce traffic conflicts. Most public roads (highways) have at least two lanes, one for traffic in each direction, separated by lane markings. On multilane roadways and busier two-lane roads, lanes are designated with road surface markings. Major highways often have two multi-lane roadways separated by a median.

Some roads and bridges that carry very low volumes of traffic are less than 15 feet (4.6 m) wide, and are only a single lane wide. Vehicles travelling in opposite directions must slow or stop to pass each other. In rural areas, these are often called country lanes. In urban areas, alleys are often only one lane wide. Urban and suburban one lane roads are often designated for one-way traffic.

Capacity

Lane capacity varies widely due to conditions such as neighbouring lanes, lane width, elements next to the road, number of driveways, presence of parking, speed limits, number of heavy vehicles and so on - the range can be as low as 1000 passenger cars / hour to as high as 4800 passenger cars /hour but mostly falls between 1500 to 2400 passenger cars / hour.

History

Sound Collective was formed in 2003 and is a home for classical musicians, hand-picked from the British orchestral, chamber and freelance scene.

Sometimes meeting as a chamber orchestra with conductor, but also formed as smaller chamber ensembles, they meet just a few times each year to create bespoke performance and education projects.

The guiding principles behind the group are excellence in performance through adequate rehearsal time, intelligent programming, a democratic ethos in both choice of repertoire and rehearsal approach, and a commitment to communication with their audiences.
