normA presenta "a", su tercer álbum.
La banda platense normA lanza su tercer trabajo de estudio, titulado simplemente "a". El disco, sucesor de "ROCK2TONOS" (2006) y "NORMA" (2008), contiene 12 canciones y una duración aproximada de 30 minutos. Fue registrado íntegramente en La Plata entre noviembre de 2010 y mayo de 2011 en Estudio Tolosa, por Gualberto de Orta, guitarrista de la banda. Además de Gualberto, los normA son: Chivas Argüello, cantante y guitarrista, Richard Baldoni en bajo y coros, y Pablo Coscarelli en batería.
Inspiradas básicamente en la ausencia, las canciones tienen el mismo ímpetu eléctrico, agresivo y contundente que las de discos anteriores. Una muestra de ello es "Fetal", tema que abre la placa. Sin embargo, hay algunas que intentan un nuevo camino para el espíritu del grupo. En particular "Freezer", primer corte, una especie de actualización de las melodías post-punk de finales de los '70 y principios de los '80. A lo largo de este grito de rock garagero que es "a", puede sentirse el dialogo entre los instrumentos y el agregado del moog -a cargo de Richard- que suena especialmente en "Pañuelo", quizás la canción más diferente de todo el álbum, que lo cierra y al mismo tiempo abre nuevos horizontes en cuanto al destino musical de normA.
La participación de Gustavo Astarita (Mister América) en "Mentes", celebra las influencias autóctonas de la banda (Mister América fue un grupo de fines de los '80 hasta principios del 2000 en La Plata).
Con varias canciones de apenas 2 minutos ("Poder", "Grises", "NDI", "Voces"), normA ataca con la misma fórmula que ellos mismos crearon en 2003: el "rock2tonos".
El arte del disco, obra de Richard, habla también de su contenido oscuro, marcial, minimalista.
Las canciones fueron forjadas a base de una batería machacante, guitarras y bajos que dialogan en melodías desestabilizantes, salvajes, y algunos segmentos con brotes de psicodelia. Las letras, cortas, repetitivas, monocromáticas y firmes, hablan con seriedad pero también con ironía. La forma de cantar, siempre marcada por la robotización de la voz, esta vez explora un poco más con coros disonantes y armonías nuevas. El título sintético del disco ilustra la mínima comunicación, la mínima expresión para comunicarse, el primer sonido, la primera letra, lo básico y primitivo, lo inicial, lo elemental.
El disco fue mezclado en Estudio Tolosa por Mariano "Manza" Esaín, y masterizado por el británico Graham Sutton (British Sea Power, These New Puritans, Jarvis). "a" será lanzado en agosto por Scatter Records.

Vincenzo Salvatore Carmelo Francesco Bellini (Italian: [vinˈtʃɛntso salvaˈtoːre karˈmɛːlo franˈtʃesko belˈliːni]; 3 November 1801 – 23 September 1835) was an Italian opera composer, who was known for his long-flowing melodic lines for which he was named "the Swan of Catania". Many years later, in 1898, Giuseppe Verdi "praised the broad curves of Bellini's melody: 'there are extremely long melodies as no-one else had ever made before' "
A large amount of what is known about Bellini's life and his activities comes from surviving letters—except for a short period—which were written over his lifetime to his friend Francesco Florimo, whom he had met as a fellow student in Naples and with whom he maintained a lifelong friendship. Other sources of information come from correspondence saved by other friends and business acquaintances.
Bellini was the quintessential composer of the Italian bel canto era of the early 19th century, and his work has been summed up by the London critic Tim Ashley as:

Maria Callas
Maria Callas, Commendatore OMRI (Greek: Μαρία Κάλλας; December 2, 1923 – September 16, 1977), was a Greek-American soprano, and one of the most renowned and influential opera singers of the 20th century. Some critics praised her bel canto technique, wide-ranging voice and dramatic interpretations, while others found her voice displeasing and considered that a defective technique was responsible for her premature decline. Her repertoire ranged from classical opera seria to the bel canto operas of Donizetti, Bellini and Rossini and further, to the works of Verdi and Puccini; and, in her early career, to the music dramas of Wagner. The press dubbed her La Divina.
Born in New York City and raised by an overbearing mother, she received her musical education in Greece and established her career in Italy. Forced to deal with the exigencies of wartime poverty and with myopia that left her nearly blind onstage, she endured struggles and scandal over the course of her career. She turned herself from a heavy woman into a svelte and glamorous one after a mid-career weight loss, which might have contributed to her vocal decline and the premature end of her career. The press exulted in publicizing Callas's temperamental behavior, her supposed rivalry with Renata Tebaldi and her love affair with Greek shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis. Although her dramatic life and personal tragedy have often overshadowed Callas the artist in the popular press, her artistic achievements were such that Leonard Bernstein called her "the Bible of opera" and her influence so enduring that, in 2006, Opera News wrote of her: "Nearly thirty years after her death, she's still the definition of the diva as artist—and still one of classical music's best-selling vocalists."

normA presenta "a", su tercer álbum.
La banda platense normA lanza su tercer trabajo de estudio, titulado simplemente "a". El disco, sucesor de "ROCK2TONOS" (2006) y "NORMA" (2008), contiene 12 canciones y una duración aproximada de 30 minutos. Fue registrado íntegramente en La Plata entre noviembre de 2010 y mayo de 2011 en Estudio Tolosa, por Gualberto de Orta, guitarrista de la banda. Además de Gualberto, los normA son: Chivas Argüello, cantante y guitarrista, Richard Baldoni en bajo y coros, y Pablo Coscarelli en batería.
Inspiradas básicamente en la ausencia, las canciones tienen el mismo ímpetu eléctrico, agresivo y contundente que las de discos anteriores. Una muestra de ello es "Fetal", tema que abre la placa. Sin embargo, hay algunas que intentan un nuevo camino para el espíritu del grupo. En particular "Freezer", primer corte, una especie de actualización de las melodías post-punk de finales de los '70 y principios de los '80. A lo largo de este grito de rock garagero que es "a", puede sentirse el dialogo entre los instrumentos y el agregado del moog -a cargo de Richard- que suena especialmente en "Pañuelo", quizás la canción más diferente de todo el álbum, que lo cierra y al mismo tiempo abre nuevos horizontes en cuanto al destino musical de normA.
La participación de Gustavo Astarita (Mister América) en "Mentes", celebra las influencias autóctonas de la banda (Mister América fue un grupo de fines de los '80 hasta principios del 2000 en La Plata).
Con varias canciones de apenas 2 minutos ("Poder", "Grises", "NDI", "Voces"), normA ataca con la misma fórmula que ellos mismos crearon en 2003: el "rock2tonos".
El arte del disco, obra de Richard, habla también de su contenido oscuro, marcial, minimalista.
Las canciones fueron forjadas a base de una batería machacante, guitarras y bajos que dialogan en melodías desestabilizantes, salvajes, y algunos segmentos con brotes de psicodelia. Las letras, cortas, repetitivas, monocromáticas y firmes, hablan con seriedad pero también con ironía. La forma de cantar, siempre marcada por la robotización de la voz, esta vez explora un poco más con coros disonantes y armonías nuevas. El título sintético del disco ilustra la mínima comunicación, la mínima expresión para comunicarse, el primer sonido, la primera letra, lo básico y primitivo, lo inicial, lo elemental.
El disco fue mezclado en Estudio Tolosa por Mariano "Manza" Esaín, y masterizado por el británico Graham Sutton (British Sea Power, These New Puritans, Jarvis). "a" será lanzado en agosto por Scatter Records.
