Russell Edward Brand (born 4 June 1975) is an English comedian, actor, radio host, author, and activist.
Beginning his career as a stand-up comedian and later becoming an MTV presenter, Brand first achieved notoriety in 2004 as the host of Big Brother's Big Mouth, a Big Brother spin-off. In 2007, he had his first major film role in St Trinian's, and the following year he landed a major role in the romantic comedy-drama Forgetting Sarah Marshall; the film led to him starring in a spin off, the rock comedy Get Him to the Greek, alongside Jonah Hill in 2010. He also worked as a voice actor in the animated films Despicable Me in 2010, Hop in 2011, and Despicable Me 2 in 2013, and played the title character of the 2011 remake of the romantic comedy Arthur. In 2013, he released the successful stand-up special Messiah Complex.
Since guest editing an edition of British political weekly New Statesman in 2013, Brand has become known as a public activist and campaigner, and has spoken on a wide range of political and cultural issues, including wealth inequality, addiction, corporate capitalism, climate change, and media bias. This includes a much publicised interview with Newsnight host Jeremy Paxman in 2013, in which he disparaged the British political system as ineffectual, encouraged the British electorate not to vote, and endorsed an egalitarian revolution to replace the status quo. In 2014, Brand launched his political-comedy web series The Trews, released a book entitled Revolution, and began work on a documentary about financial inequality with Michael Winterbottom.
"Here Comes the Sun" is a song written by George Harrison that was first released on the Beatles' 1969 album Abbey Road. Along with "Something" and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", it is one of Harrison's best-known compositions from the Beatles era. The song was written at the country house of his friend Eric Clapton, where Harrison had chosen to play truant for the day, to avoid attending a meeting at the Beatles' Apple Corps organisation. The lyrics reflect the composer's relief at both the arrival of spring and the temporary respite he was experiencing from the band's business affairs.
The Beatles recorded "Here Comes the Sun" at London's EMI Studios in the summer of 1969. Led by Harrison's acoustic guitar, the recording also features Moog synthesizer, which he had introduced to the Beatles' sound after acquiring an early model of the instrument in California. Reflecting the continued influence of Indian classical music on Harrison's writing, the composition includes a series of unusual time changes over the "Sun, sun, sun, here it comes" refrain.
The Trews are a Canadian hard rock band from Antigonish, Nova Scotia, consisting of vocalist Colin MacDonald, guitarist John-Angus MacDonald, bassist Jack Syperek, and drummer Gavin Maguire. The band is currently based in Toronto, Ontario.
The band started their career with the name One I'd Trouser, a line taken from a song in Monty Python h Nova Scotia, before changing their name to Trouser, and eventually The Trews. They released an EP as One I'd Trouser, and a second EP under the name The Trews.
In the early summer of 2002 the band entered Rocksearch, a high profile contest that is held annually by HTZ-FM, a St. Catharines (Southern Ontario) rock radio station. Winning the contest would prove to be their big break as they soon landed a recording contract with Bumstead Productions Ltd.
The release of their first full-length CD House of Ill Fame, soon followed in 2003. Produced by Big Sugar's Gordie Johnson, the album contained the singles "Every Inambition", "Not Ready to Go", "Tired of Waiting", "Fleeting Trust" and "Confessions". "Not Ready to Go" hit number one on Canadian rock radio and was the most played song of 2004 in that format. The band was nominated as New Group of the Year at the 2004 Juno Awards (Canadian Grammys) and "Not Ready to Go" was nominated as Single of the Year in 2005.House Of Ill Fame has been certified gold in Canada. It was re-released with a bonus live album called "the Live Cut" which featured live versions of songs taken from the album.
The Sun (in Greek: Helios, in Latin: Sol) is the star at the center of the Solar System and is by far the most important source of energy for life on Earth. It is a nearly perfect spherical ball of hot plasma, with internal convective motion that generates a magnetic field via a dynamo process. Its diameter is about 109 times that of Earth, and it has a mass about 330,000 times that of Earth, accounting for about 99.86% of the total mass of the Solar System.About three quarters of the Sun's mass consists of hydrogen; the rest is mostly helium, with much smaller quantities of heavier elements, including oxygen, carbon, neon and iron.
The Sun is a G-type main-sequence star (G2V) based on spectral class and it is informally referred to as a yellow dwarf. It formed approximately 4.567 billion years ago from the gravitational collapse of matter within a region of a large molecular cloud. Most of this matter gathered in the center, whereas the rest flattened into an orbiting disk that became the Solar System. The central mass became increasingly hot and dense, eventually initiating nuclear fusion in its core. It is thought that almost all stars form by this process.
The Rubberbandits are Irish artists, a comedy hip-hop duo from Limerick. They were formed by Blindboy Boatclub (real name Dave Chambers) and Mr Chrome (sometimes Bobby Chrome; real name Bob McGlynn). On stage and in interviews, they conceal their identities with masks made from plastic shopping bags. The unofficial third member of the group is Willie O'DJ (real name Paul Webb), a Spin South West disk jockey who wears a mask caricaturing local politician Willie O'Dea. The group have described themselves as artists, and have referred to their movement as "Gas Cuntism".
Chambers and McGlynn met while attending Ardscoil Rís, Limerick. Primarily a satirical stage and television act, they have performed throughout Ireland, the UK and the US with shows at events such as Electric Picnic,Oxegen and the Bulmers International Comedy Festival. The Rubberbandits first rose to prominence in December 2010, when their music video, "Horse Outside", went viral on YouTube. They have since won awards for both their music and comedy. In 2011, the duo were declared "Best Irish Act" at the entertainment.ie awards, and also won an IFTA award for "Horse Outside".

Russell Brand. Get Him to the Greek interview with a Dutch woman. Weird sexual and religious references ensue.
"The war on drugs isn't working: drug addiction should be treated as a health issue rather than a criminal one." These are the views of Russell Brand, as he sets out on a personal journey for BBC Three which sees him speak to addicts, care workers and politicians in the UK and overseas, as he explores potential alternatives to the UK government's policy on drugs. From visiting a legalised drug consumption room in Berne, Switzerland, to attending a U.N. drugs conference in Vienna, Russell probes the different perspectives of other nations' approach to drugs in search of evidence that there could be a different approach to current UK government policy. He meets people who challenge his views and in an interview with Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg Russell gets the opportunity to put his poi...

http://www.spyculture.com/clandestime-episode-008-the-russell-brand-revolution/ Following comic and actor Russell Brand’s recent emergence as a political celebrity I dissect his Newsnight interview and the reaction to it. I look at the valid criticisms being made of Brand’s interview and the social media phenomena swirling up around it before emphasising the few valuable, positive aspects of what he said. I finish up with a shortlist of lessons to be learned from the debacle, including the abandoning of political messiahs and the affirmation of the value and importance of real, ordinary people taking action themselves.

Over here, we’d like to think that we know a thing or two about the landscape of sportswear. In reality, we’ve only scraped the foundation of things as lowly consumers who possess a minute knowledge of product. That’s not to say that we aren’t studious enough to ascertain the stories behind apparel and the designers who craft them. So set the scene: We’ve got the whole squad riding filthy in Beaverton with Nike gear stacked to the ceiling of our vehicles. But what makes the visit to Nike Headquarters special is how we managed to fiddle our way into an interview with the designer formerly known as brand director of the Jordan division, Mr. Gemo Wong. Likely a name that you’re not entirely familiar with. Likely someone who you know little to nothing about. Us either, if it hadn’t been for t...

Here comes the sun
And the day has just begun
So come on and have som fun
On and on, to the break of done, break of done
On and on, to the break of, break of done, uh (x3)
It's a brand new day, R'n'G swinging your way
With the summer jam that makes you go "haaay"
Love and happiness, that's what we're dealing
I'm a bilion, now show me what you're feeling
The weather is nice, step outside now call the fight
To be your guide, enjoy the ride
You might be chillin on the beach
On the corner of the freak
My sound be pumpin in your boom-box of energy
Checkin out the honeyz, laying by the pool
All the from the old and new school acting cool
At the court shooting hoops, with the troops, oops
There it is, I got you jumping on my loot
Got my Timbalands on, I let my pants sacks
Shakes of my head, now tell me who's the next
Hands in the air, get your groove on,
Move to the break of done, uh
Chorus:
Here comes the sun
And the day has just begun
So come on and have som fun
If you really think that you're the one
Just come on and have som fun
Here comes the
Here comes the
Here comes the sun
I hit you with the summer rhyme
Time after time
But your body in posistion
Let the rhythm free your mind
The sun is coming thru
You'll be pickin up your crew
The grind and funk is in the air for you
On your way to the picknick
You're feeling teriffic
To the break of done,
You'll be hanging with the click
It's summertime, that's what it is
Pump your fits, the party is on
Now bump your head to this
R'n'G flow on your radio, here we go
Let your boody shake
To the rhythm of a tambo
A two man band, rockin the land
Make some noice, grab a 6-pack in your hand
And just step off, step off to the summer body, huh
Forget about your money
You wanna be my honey
Let's get together and have some fun
To the break of done
Here comes the sun
Chorus
Bridge:
It's a sunny day, tell me can you feel
Everybody together, we gotta keep it real
(Here comes the, here comes the, here comes the sun)
We gotta keep it real
Chorus
On and on, to the break of done, break of done
