The special warfare combatant-craft crewmen (SWCC, pronounced "Swick") is a United States Navy special operations force that operates and maintains an inventory of small craft used to support special operations missions, particularly those of the U.S. Navy SEALs. Individually, SEALs and SWCC go through separate specialized training programs that emphasize special operations in the maritime environment. SWCC are trained extensively in craft and weapons tactics, techniques, and procedures. Focusing on clandestine infiltration and exfiltration of SEALs and other special operations forces, SWCC provide dedicated, rapid mobility in shallow water areas where large ships cannot operate. SWCC must be physically fit, highly motivated, combat-focused, and responsive in high-stress situations.
Special boat teams can trace their history back to World War II. Motor Torpedo Boat Squadron Three rescued General Douglas MacArthur (and later the Filipino president Manuel L. Quezon) from the Philippines after the Japanese invasion and then participated in guerilla actions until American resistance ended with the fall of Corregidor. PT boats subsequently participated in most of the campaigns in the Southwest Pacific by conducting and supporting joint/combined reconnaissance, blockade, sabotage, and raiding missions as well as attacking Japanese shore facilities, shipping, and combatants. PT boats were used in the European Theater beginning in April 1944 to support the Office of Strategic Services in the insertion of espionage and French Resistance personnel and for amphibious landing deception. While there is no direct line between organizations, United States Naval Special Warfare Command embracement is predicated on the similarity in craft and mission.
Special forces and special operations forces are military units trained to perform unconventional missions. Special forces, as they would now be recognised, emerged in the early 20th century, with a significant growth in the field during the Second World War.
Depending on the country, special forces may perform some of the following functions: airborne operations, counter-insurgency, "counter-terrorism", covert ops, direct action, hostage rescue, high-value targets/manhunting, intelligence operations, mobility operations, and unconventional warfare. The term “special forces” in the US refers to the US Army's forces while the term “special operation forces” refers to all units. In Russian-speaking countries special forces are typically called spetsnaz, an acronym for "special purpose". Likewise Russian speakers refer to special forces of other nations as spetsnaz, for example US Special Forces would be referred to as Amerikanski spetsnaz in Russian.
Special forces capabilities include the following:
A navy or maritime force is a fleet of waterborne military vessels (watercraft) and its associated naval aviation, both sea-based and land-based. It is the branch of a nation's armed forces principally designated for naval and amphibious warfare; namely, lake-borne, riverine, littoral, or ocean-borne combat operations and related functions. It includes anything conducted by surface ships, amphibious ships, submarines, and seaborne aviation, as well as ancillary support, communications, training, and other fields; recent developments have included space-related operations. The strategic offensive role of a navy is projection of force into areas beyond a country's shores (for example, to protect sea-lanes, ferry troops, or attack other navies, ports, or shore installations). The strategic defensive purpose of a navy is to frustrate seaborne projection-of-force by enemies. The strategic task of the navy also may incorporate nuclear deterrence by use of Submarine-launched ballistic missiles. Naval operations can be broadly divided between riverine and littoral applications (brown-water navy), open-ocean applications (blue-water navy), and something in between (green-water navy), although these distinctions are more about strategic scope than tactical or operational division.
The United States Navy (USN) is the naval warfare service branch of the United States Armed Forces and one of the seven uniformed services of the United States. The U.S. Navy is the largest, most capable navy in the world, with the highest combined battle fleet tonnage. The U.S. Navy has the world's largest aircraft carrier fleet, with ten in service, two in the reserve fleet, and three new carriers under construction. The service has 328,194 personnel on active duty and 101,199 in the Navy Reserve. It has 272 deployable combat vessels and more than 3,700 aircraft in active service as of February 2016.
The U.S. Navy traces its origins to the Continental Navy, which was established during the American Revolutionary War and was essentially disbanded as a separate entity shortly thereafter. It played a major role in the American Civil War by blockading the Confederacy and seizing control of its rivers. It played the central role in the World War II defeat of Japan. The 21st century U.S. Navy maintains a sizable global presence, deploying in such areas as East Asia, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East. It is a blue-water navy with the ability to project force onto the littoral regions of the world, engage in forward areas during peacetime, and rapidly respond to regional crises, making it an active player in U.S. foreign and defense policy.

I got word of an ACTIVE DUTY sailor onboard a ship who decided to take some leave a while ago, throw on his uniform...as well as a bunch of stuff he never earned, and tell his whole family and friend he was an elite member of Naval Special Warfare as a Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewman. Little did he know that his sister would post his pictures on her Facebook. Fellow shipmates saw these photos and he was subsequently busted. Unfortunately, my source did not know he had already been busted. So it made my phone call a little shorter than I wanted. But hey, sometimes ya gotta improvise! I called him one day after work and he says "I don't have time, call me on Sunday." Not three minutes later, my phone is ringing and Kody wants to find out what this mysterious caller wants. Enjoy!

Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen (SWCC) and SEALs carry out a hot extraction aboard Special Operations Craft-Riverine during training exercises. The 33-foot SOC-Rs are armed with .50-caliber M2HB heavy machine guns; 7.62 mm M240B medium machine guns; 7.62 mm GAU-17 six-barreled miniguns; and Mk. 19 40 mm grenade launchers. The SOC-R's twin 440-horsepower Yanmar diesels feed two Hamilton waterjets that make the aluminum boat highly maneuverable and give it a tremendous power-to-weight ratio, producing speeds in excess of 40 knots. US Navy Special Warfare Combatant Craft (SWCC): The Navy SEALs Best Friend. When SEALs want a fast river insertion/extraction, they call for the SWCC team. The whole world knows about the elite SEALs. But not everyone knows about the people behind the scenes. The ones who take the SEALs to do their mission or picks them up after completing it. The Navy Special Warfare Combatant Craft(SWCC) are one of the ways SEALs can do their job. These specialized boat crews are part of the Special Operations community. SWCC (pronounced "swick") provide dedicated, rapid mobility in shallow water areas called the literal zone where large ships cannot operate. Like their Navy SEAL counterparts, SWCC operators must be physically fit, mentally tough, highly motivated, focused and responsive in high stress...
Successfully completing the Water Rescue test is required for Navy SEAL and SWCC candidates. This video, narrated by a SWCC instructor, demonstrates the proper technique for rescuing a person in the open water and should be considered mandatory viewing for anyone considering a career with Navy SEALs or SWCC.

I'm not a product of your environment
I don't hold these truths to be self-evident
I don't necessarily hate the establishment
but I don't think you really know what I meant what I said
