Dana Point is a city located in southern Orange County, California. The population was 33,351 at the 2010 census. It has one of the few harbors along the Orange County coast, and with ready access via State Route 1, it is a popular local destination for surfing.
The city was named after the headland of Dana Point, which was in turn named after Richard Henry Dana, Jr., author of Two Years Before the Mast, which included a description of the area. Dana described the locale, including neighboring San Juan Capistrano, as "the only romantic spot on the coast". Although Dana described the anchorage as poor, it is now a developed harbor and contains a replica of his ship, the Pilgrim. The Pilgrim is used as a classroom by the Ocean Institute, which is located at the harbor. This area is designated California Historical Landmark #189.
Dana Point was a popular port for ships involved with the hide trade with nearby Mission San Juan Capistrano. Trading reached its peak in the 1830s and 1840s. In 1818, Argentine sailor Hippolyte de Bouchard anchored there while conducting his raid on the mission. Richard Henry Dana then visited the area in 1835 while serving aboard the sailing brig Pilgrim on her voyage along the California coastline.

State parks or provincial parks are parks or other protected areas managed at the sub-national level within those nations which use "state" or "province" as a political subdivision. State parks are typically established by a state to preserve a location on account of its natural beauty, historic interest, or recreational potential. There are state parks under the administration of the government of each U.S. state, and of some states of Mexico. The term is also used in Australia, though the distinction between state and national parks there is different. The Canadian equivalent term is provincial park. Similar systems of local government maintained parks exist in other countries, but the terminology varies.
State parks are thus similar to national parks, but under state rather than federal administration. Similarly, local government entities below state level may maintain parks, e.g., regional parks or county parks. In general, state parks are smaller than national parks, with a few exceptions such as the Adirondack Park in New York and Anza-Borrego Desert State Park in California.
The great white shark (Carcharodon carcharias), also known as the great white, white pointer, white shark, or white death, is a species of large lamniform shark which can be found in the coastal surface waters of all the major oceans. The great white shark is mainly known for its size, with mature individuals growing up to 6.4 m (21 ft) in length (although reports have been published of great white sharks measuring over 8 m (26 ft)) and 3,324 kg (7,328 lb) in weight. This shark reaches its maturity around 15 years of age and was previously believed to have a life span of over 30 years. The true lifespan of great white sharks is far longer, now estimated to be as long as 70 years or more, making it one of the longest lived cartilaginous fish currently known. Male great white sharks reach sexual maturity at 26 years of age, females at 33. Great white sharks can accelerate to over 56 km/h (35 mph).
The great white shark has no natural predators other than the killer whale. The great white shark is arguably the world's largest known extant macropredatory fish, and is one of the primary predators of marine mammals. It is also known to prey upon a variety of other marine animals, including fish and seabirds. It is the only known surviving species of its genus Carcharodon, and is ranked first in having the most recorded attacks on humans. The IUCN list the great white shark as a vulnerable species, while it is included in Appendix II of CITES.

The Dana Point Waterfall is a fun attraction that is only seen after a good rain. Normally, when the rain falls, the locals come out to see a small beautiful waterfall, but in 2017 there was so much rain that it became a gushing site to see. We went on Jan 22 and were blown away by how awesome the experience was. Be sure to check it out next time there is a good rain. California travel expert Veronica Hill of http://www.CaliforniaTravelExpert.com tours Catalina Island in this episode of "California Travel Tips." The second largest of the Channel Islands, just 22 miles from California's coast, Catalina makes a great family weekend. Our kids had a blast on the hour-long ferry from Dana Point to the island, where we spotted sailboats, kayakers, and a pod of frolicking dolphins. Once you disembark in Avalon Bay, grab a golf cart for a tour around the island, and then take a stroll along Crescent Drive, Catalina's main boardwalk, and check out the Catalina Casino (Avalon Casino). Here, kids can enjoy a treat of spun taffy, ice cream or caramel apples at the old-fashioned confectionary Lloyds of Avalon — — or enjoy a few video games and skee ball at th...
Veronica Hill (http://www.CaliforniaTravelExpert.com) takes you on a tour of Three Arch Bay in Laguna Beach in this episode of "California Travel Tips." This private access beach sits in South Laguna at the intersection of Dana Point. It gets Veronica's vote as one of the best beaches in California! According to resident Karen Turnbull, the name Three Arch Bay came from wandering Spanish Shepherds during the 1800s, meaning "Bay of the Three Little Windows." The 29 acres of private property on Three Arch Bay sold for just $135,000 in 1926. The first home in Three Arch Bay was built in 1927, and sites sold for $500 in 1932. I think there are roughly 500 homes today, which sit on 120 acres. This is not the Laguna Beach you've seen on reality TV. Three Arch Bay homes feel more like New Engl...

Now, I found, that the world is round
and of course it rains everyday.
Living tomorrow, where in the world will I be tomorrow?
How far am I able to see?
Or am I needed here?

If I remember all of the things I have done,
I'd remember all of the times I've gone wrong.
Why do they keep me here?
