Lorillard sold Newport "brand" to RJReynolds and they updated the packs look and feel but when Lorillard sold the name they told RJReynolds to use the exact ingredients so they are not fake just a new box. Thousands of the ols cases are still around so if you go to small low volume stores they might still have 100 cartons in the storage room! Why would someone pay more to make nicer packaging just too put fakes in , makes no sense . The pack would be flat printed on thinner cardboard if they were fake . I called Lorillard and RJRenyolds both companies told me the exact same thing they just upgraded the look and feel of the pack!

Port

Lorillard sold Newport "brand" to RJReynolds and they updated the packs look and feel but when Lorillard sold the name they told RJReynolds to use the exact ingredients so they are not fake just a new box. Thousands of the ols cases are still around so if you go to small low volume stores they might still have 100 cartons in the storage room! Why would someone pay more to make nicer packaging just too put fakes in , makes no sense . The pack would be flat printed on thinner cardboard if they were fake . I called Lorillard and RJRenyolds both companies told me the exact same thing they just upgraded the look and feel of the pack!
