Livorno, Italy – On the demo outside “Le Sughere” prison on 20th May 2017

carcere_web-1024x724Two weeks after the demo outside “Le Sughere” prison in Livorno, from prisoners’ letters we learn that they heard the warm solidarity coming from speeches, slogans and fireworks, and decided to take part in the protest with two hours of bar-beating and some bedsheets in flames.
An intense day that of 20th May in Livorno. There were many of us outside there: comrades from several cities, Stefano Crescenzi’s family* and mothers of other kids murdered by prison. At the top of our lungs, about 150 of us broke the silence that walls and enclosures want to impose inside and outside.

Italy – Anarchist comrade Juan’s communique, from freedom…

Translated by act for freedom now!
———————–
Hola comrades!
In the end an arrest warrant for one year’s imprisonment  got me, following a sentence in 2012 (more or less) for giving false ID in Val Clarea, during one of the many controls by the Sardinian hunters and digos. I’ve got several other trials that are about to come (interrupting a procedure for a TSO [compulsory psychiatric treatment] in Bologna back in 2007, the mega NO TAV trial following the events of 3rd July 2011…), which will add more years to my CV.
At first I didn’t want to write anything public, I wanted to leave everything in ‘silence’, the silence where one doesn’t know what to say or do…
But thinking it over, it’s better not to!
I decided that I want to stay ‘free’ as long as I’m able to run, good!
Then ‘whatever happens take it in your stride’, be it positive or negative, I’ll try to live it as intensely as possible.

France – New Letter From Anarchist Prisoner Damien Camelio

Received by mail / Thursday, June 8th, 2017
It’s May 18th, the date of my parole, but I’m still in the slammer and I’m going to be staying here.
Sentence judge Catherine Ardaillon, left-wing trade unionist, activist at the Evry tribunal and at Fléury-Mérogis prison, has decreed that all the same, for cases like mine, its lucky that there are prisons and therefore adjusting my sentence is out of the question.
Unlike my last sentence, I am not under the yoke of the anti-terrorist law, but in practice it is still applied to me.
This is why the application for permission to go to a job interview ( which can not be refused at the end of a sentence), which I handed over to my SPIP, Jean-Baptiste, miraculously transformed into a simple request for ‘permission to maintain family ties’, so that it could be rejected by JAP Catherine Ardaillon.
For several weeks now, I have been subjected to numerous searches, searches of my cell, searches of my body, etc. They found nothing until an informant (who must have been very close to me, to give such precise information) told them where I was hiding my SIM cards. So a few days ago they found 3 SIM cards hidden inside a packet of new rolling papers. They were hidden intersperesed between the papers at the bottom of the packaging. During the search, the guard reacted in a way that netrayed that they had an informant: just before the search, when I emptied my pockets before undressing, he immediately took my 2 packets of rolling papers aside, but he seemed disinterested by the rest. I knew I was done, and indeed, at the end of the search, he said to me: “And here, there is nothing?” Then he pulled out all the sheets one by one until the SIM cards appeared.
In the days that followed, some of the prisoners who I am close to have undergone similar searches.

Pittsburgh, PA: June 11th Solidarity March – USA

z4-6Pittsburgh anarchists held a march in solidarity with anarchist prisoners on June 11th, 2017. Full marching band in tow, the group disrupted traffic patterns and whatever the fuck else gross yuppie shit goes down on Butler Street, Pittsburgh’s “hipster” strip. Banners in solidarity with Eric King, Marius Mason, and Fernando Bárcenas were on display, along with other anti-prison banners.
After the march, a picnic and info fair was held near by, where t-shirts and buttons were traded in exchange for commissary funds for Joseph Buddenberg, Nicole Kissane, Eric King, and Marius Mason.

Bologna, Italy – Bologna capital of the environment: the monsters are coming to the city, the city looks even more monstrous

G7_dichiarazione di interesse
G7 and Bologna capital of the environment: when the monsters come to the city, the city looks even more monstrous
The planet is dying, species are being decimated, biodiversity is being reduced, ecosystems are collapsing, entire territories are being exploited to the limit and beyond devastation, air, water, soil are no longer sources of life but of danger and death. The State responds to all this with summits, useless gatherings and protocol that give Capital’s voracity a green face. On 10th, 11th, 12th July the 7 most powerful environment ministers of the planet are meeting up in Bologna, united in the intent to reconcile their reciprocal interests and make a well-known paradox possible: the unlimited exploitation of limited resources. The new genial idea is the concept of ‘circular economy’, a new name for a forty-year-old idea: to reduce waste, increase profit and save from collapse a system that risks becoming the cause of its own end thanks to its insatiable voracity. A very challenging task, certainly, but possible solutions might well come out. Of course, the price is the radical transformation of our lives and the planet, the latter becoming an even worse hell and wild nature being substituted with an artificial productive surrogate. A hell of technological control to which a city like Bologna with its excellence in high technology and industrial research, gives a very important contribution: UNIBO, CNR, ENEA, IOR ( to mention only a few) and known financiers are uniting to make an unsustainable and suffocating system sustainable.

USA – Philly Machines Malfunction for Dangerous June

During the first half of dangerous June some machines decided to experiment with freedom. They expressed their solidarity with J20 arrestees and anarchists facing repression worldwide before taking their own liberating actions:
* Four security cameras flew away from their posts to see the rest of the world.
*A digital advertising billboard by a highway got a makeover.
*Four fare checking machines tried new foods and got constipated.
*A door to a security force’s building chose to sleep in and delay work.

SELF PRESENTATION OF INTERNATIONAL SQUAT HOUSE “ROSA DE FOC” – exarxeia – Athens

We are an autonomus, self-managed collective based on libertarian and anti-authoritarian principles. We are living on Ashmakh Fwthla 18 in Exarcheia.
We come from several countries, including Greece.rf_GQw8iFD
The governing organ of our community is the General Assembly (GA).
All important decisions regarding the house or its inhabitants must be approved by GA. Any decision taken otherwise will not be considered legitimate. We will not tolerate any threat of our autonomy, and will protect it. At the same time we perceive the solidarity among squats as self explanatory and continuous situation.
We will be vigilant and active in the struggle against drugs and drug dealing around the area of Exarchia as well as against the possibility of this happening inside the movement.
In addition, we are open to suggestions and political projects that promote the non-profit and anti constitutional character, the strengthening of relationships among comrades and the general struggle for revolution and Anarchy. We want and we have the ability to house self-educational activities, as well as activities that promote political discussion and communication.
We send our greetings to the revolutionary comrades that fight for freedom around the world, and all the political prisoners that have been kidnapped by the state. Our space constitutes from the beginning a crossroad for comrades from all around the globe and we desire to remain as such.
Whoever wants to take part in our community life and build a connection with us or has some projects or ideas, are welcome every Friday at 1p.m. At this time we organize collective kitchen.

Paris: A second trial of the struggle against the deportation machine

Translated from Indymedia Nantes
via:https://borderedbysilence.

————————————

On May 30 2017, judge Gendre released a committal order of her own, sending seven additional companions and comrades to court in connection to the struggle against the deportation machine in Paris.
In a first trial concerning the struggle against the deportation machine, on June 23, 2017 in Paris, four people who were subjects of one of the preliminary inquiries into this matter. After various reclassifications and withdrawals of the charges, three of them are accused of “tracing inscriptions on facades and street material” (meaning tags) in January 2011 and two of having “willfully damaged a banking ATM belonging to the Postal Bank” (by pasting a poster) in February 2010 during a group stroll.
In parallel to this, on May 30 2017, judge Gendre released a committal order of her own, sending seven additional companions and comrades [1] to court in connection to the struggle against the deportation machine in Paris. Although the date of the trial has not yet been decided (though it may be set in the next few weeks), we can already say a few things about it.

Germany , Weilheim – Arson Attack Against a Police Station

arson
During the night of 05.06.17 to 06.06.17 we attacked the cops with fire and make the following statement:
This is an anti-terrorist attack, an attack against the terror of the bourgeois state, its institutions and the general logic of exploitation that is managed by it. In concrete terms, an attack against the terror of the cops and their institutions of class injustice. We used six litres of gasoline, but unfortunately it was not enough to burn down their headquarters.
The terror of the bourgeois (vulgus: “democratic-freedom”) state has many facets; Some people get it in the form of weapons exports to fascists like Erdogan or Frontex ships in the Mediterranean, others feel it a little more subtly in the form of police cops or their case worker at the job center where the state is the guarantor of a hostile human enemy.

Modena, Italy – Premises of the neo-nazi group “Terra dei Padri” [Land of the Fathers] set on fire

001-4
via:.informa-azione.info
Translated by act for freedom now
———————————-
From the local media of 25th May we learn of the burning of the premises of the neo-nazi group “Terra dei Padri”.
The premises had already been the target of trashing and graffiti in recent months; according to the reconstructions in this case, at around 2am inflammable liquid was set alight and thrown into the building through a window that had been broken previously.
The building was declared unsafe and there were no casualties.
It was also reported that ANPI [Italian Partisans National Association] have demanded a rapid inquiry and that the perpetrators be punished in an exemplary way. They also asked that the transitory XII rule of the Constitution be complied with and that the related ‘Scelba’ and ‘Mancino’ laws be applied.

Barcelona, Spain – Call for solidarity in anticipation of the Aachen sentence, made before the sentence was pronounced

Here is the poster of the solidarity demo in Barcelona:
Without freedom for our comrades there’ll be no peace for our enemies ever
Anarchist solidarity with the anarchist prisoners detained in Germany for the Aachen case
Demo
Wednesday 7th June
8pm
Plaza Lessens in front of the library
Barcelona
aachenbarca
We receive a call for solidarity with the comrades on trial in Aachen in anticipation of the sentence that is to be pronounced on 7th June 2017:
Be it because of the refusal of all forms of oppression that want to crush us or because of the firm conviction in the wonderful worlds we carry in our hearts and which continually clash with the asphyxiating reality in which we live, we decide to struggle against the State and all forms of power.
We know, as the enemy does, that our struggle, albeit at times limited, continues without a break.
That’s why they lock us up, try to hamper our will and natural drive towards rebellion.
That’s why, sentence after sentence, repressive operation after repressive operation, we still keep our heads held high and muster all possible strength every time, filling the streets with our hatred thanks to the eternal moments of freedom we experience together.
In the firm conviction of our ideas, practices, experiences and in our solidarity, we will keep on conspiring, seeking and finding ways to confront the State and its many accomplices.
WHATEVER THE SENTENCE WE’LL BE IN THE STREETS

France,Toulouse: Solidarity with the accused of 18 May, Aachen and the others

Fire to an Eiffage car in solidarity with the imprisoned anarchists
Today, I was angry.
Enraged by the 7-year jail sentence that just fell on the anarchist comrade accused of a bank expropriation in Aachen.
Enraged to learn that the judges have decided to keep Kara and Krème in custody.
A bottle of hydroalcoholic gel emptied on the front wheel and a fire-lighter sufficed to set a car of Eiffage, who build their cages, up in flames, but will not have become right through my anger.
Anarchist solidarity, for a dangerous month of June

Paris: solidarity attack against the expulsion machine

via:Indy Nantes, 1 juin 2017

[Paris] Locked up?
In Montmartre, Rue Tholozé, stands the L’Artesienne printing house.
– If we look at this business a little closer, we learn that their clients include the Penitentiary Administration
– It’s unacceptable, so its window and door had to smash to pieces during the night of 29 to 30 May 2017
Next June, the judicial system is set to judge the solidarity offensive with the generalized revolt of undocumented workers of the CRA of Vincennes reduced to ashes in 2008, and that too is unacceptable
– You have to make it known.
Let’s sabotage the expulsion machine

Alma Melgarito, Anarchism and the Law – Mexico

Notes: Introductory talk at the Days of Informal Anarchy, International Symposium, Mexico D.F., 27, 28, 29 December, 2013
————————–
Good afternoon to each and everyone here. Well, here we are finally in the context of this symposium and because the comrades suggested that I give a small talk about the relationship or rather, I should say, the non-relationshipa-m-alma-melgarito-anarchism-and-the-law-1 between anarchism and law, or the possibilities and limits of the use of law as a tool of action in insurrectionary anarchist practice. What I am about to say is a very individual set of my reflections on this issue, so what I say now should not be regarded as a position taken by groups or collectives in which I collaborate occasionally. Good. I also want to say that what I am going to talk about now are just a few notes that we can use to think about law from the anarchist point of view.
I’d like to start by quoting the words of Alfredo M. Bonanno, who in A few notes on Sacco and Vanzetti, reminds us that; “the concept of innocence and guilt is not an objective fact but is a measure imposed by the class struggle. The legal techniques and police procedures that establish whether a person is guilty or innocent are part of the culture of power.”
Now I’m putting on the table a question that has been included in contemporary anarchist discussion in Mexico, especially in light of the recent arrests of comrades and following the media harassment witnessed in AGAINST THE CONTENTS OF ANARCHIST EXPRESSION in recent times .. and the question is … is anarchism a crime?

Germany , Aachen verdict: one comrade sentenced to 7.5 yrs, one comrade acquitted + Solidarity

Some words of solidarity from Aachen
Today, 7th June 2017, the judge pronounced the sentence in the court case against two anarchist comrades accused of having robbed the PaxBank in Aachen 2014. While one comrade was set free, our sister and comrade was sentenced to seven and a half years of prison.
What this sentence has clearly shown, is that not only were the facts on trial but also ideas, our anarchist ideas, our solidarity bond and the refusal of collaboration with power.
Despite their intention to break and repress our anarchist ideas and practices, for our part, we remain and will remain proud and convinced of who we are and why we struggle.

Urgent Support Needed for Mexican Anarchist Prisoner Fernando Bárcenas – Mexico

Fernando Bárcenas is an anarchist political prisoner in Mexico. Earlier this week, he learned he must pay a 35,500 peso (1,950 USD) fine imposed during his sentencing by Friday, June 9 or have his imprisonment extended for 550 days. Let’s ensure he doesn’t spend one more day locked up.
Donate to the crowdfunding site!
Fernando Bárcenas is a 22-year-old anarchist who has been imprisoned by the Mexican state since December 13, 2013 and is serving a six-year sentence. He was arrested at a protest against fare hikes to Mexico City’s subway system during which a Coca-Cola Christmas tree was burned.
He was also fined 35,500 pesos and just learned from his lawyers that he must pay that fine by Friday, June 9 (in two days!) or face an additional 550 days locked inside.
In coordination with the Anarchist Black Cross-Mexico, we are attempting to urgently raise the needed funds to ensure this comrade does not spend anymore time behind bars.
Fernando has been extremely active organizing inside the prison. He started the Cimarrón Collective, a group of prisoners organizing autonomously that holds writing, painting, tattooing, yoga and health care workshops, has an anarchist library, is forming a community radio station and even has a punk band. More can be read about the collective’s work here.
As Fernando says, “We as anarchists can do work in society, whatever society we find ourselves in. Right now, I’m in prison and I’m going to do work here.” As such, he has consistently fought against the conditions inside Mexican prisons, going on four separate hunger strikes – including one in solidarity with the national prisoner strike in the US in 2016.
IGD has published many of Fernando’s writings in English here.
Fernando has shown no hesitation to act in solidarity with others. Now it is upon us to be in solidarity with him. If you are able, please contribute what you can. If you cannot make a donation, please spread the word widely.
Note: While the fine must be paid by June 9, we are running this campaign through June 17. Any additional funds will go to paying back people who have lent money so the fine may be paid on time. If funds beyond that are raised, we will approach you to either return your money or if your prefer, to send it along to support anarchist prisoners in Mexico.
