Neil Young is the self-titled debut studio album by Canadian musician Neil Young, which was his debut release as a solo artist following his departure from the band Buffalo Springfield. Released first on January 22, 1969, it was then partially remixed and re-released in November 1969. In neither case did it appear on the Billboard 200 album chart.
The album was originally released on January 22, 1969. The first release used the Haeco-CSG encoding system. This technology was intended to make stereo records compatible with mono record players, but had the unfortunate side effect of degrading the sound in both stereo and mono.
Young was unhappy with the sound quality of the first release. "The first mix was awful," he was reported as saying in Cash Box of September 6, 1969. "I was trying to bury my voice, because I didnʼt like the way it sounded." The album was therefore remixed in the summer of 1969 (as announced in Rolling Stone #47, from December 13), and re-released without Haeco-CSG processing. The words "Neil Young" were added to the album cover after what was left of the original stock had been used up, so copies of both mixes exist in the original sleeve. Copies of the original 1968 mix are now rare and sought-after, because many Neil Young fans believe that the 1969 mix diminished the songs, especially "Here We Are In The Years."
Neil Percival Young, OC OM (born November 12, 1945) is a Canadian singer-songwriter and musician. He began performing in a group covering Shadows instrumentals in Canada in 1960, before moving to California in 1966, where he co-founded the band Buffalo Springfield together with Stephen Stills and Richie Furay, and later joined Crosby, Stills & Nash in 1969. He released his first album in 1968 and has since forged a successful and acclaimed solo career, spanning over 45 years and 35 studio albums, with a continuous and uncompromizing exploration of musical styles. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame website describes Young as "one of rock and roll's greatest songwriters and performers". He was inducted into the Hall of Fame twice, first as a solo artist in 1995, and second as a member of Buffalo Springfield in 1997.
Young's music is characterized by his distinctive guitar work, deeply personal lyrics and characteristic alto or high tenor singing voice. Although he accompanies himself on several different instruments, including piano and harmonica, his idiosyncratic electric and acoustic guitar playing are the defining characteristics of a varyingly ragged and melodic sound.

Sing-A-Long Old man look at my life, I'm a lot like you were. Old man look at my life, I'm a lot like you were. Old man look at my life, Twenty four and there's so much more Live alone in a paradise That makes me think of two. Love lost, such a cost, Give me things that don't get lost. Like a coin that won't get tossed Rolling home to you. Old man take a look at my life I'm a lot like you I need someone to love me the whole day through Ah, one look in my eyes and you can tell that's true. Lullabies, look in your eyes, Run around the same old town. Doesn't mean that much to me To mean that much to you. I've been first and last Look at how the time goes past. But I'm all alone at last. Rolling home to you. Old man take a look at my life I'm a lot like you I need someone to love me the...
Lyrical lyrics: My my, hey hey Rock and roll is here to stay It's better to burn out Than to fade away My my, hey hey. Out of the blue and into the black They give you this, but you pay for that And once you're gone, you can never come back When you're out of the blue and into the black. The king is gone but he's not forgotten This is the story of a Johnny Rotten It's better to burn out than it is to rust The king is gone but he's not forgotten. Hey hey, my my Rock and roll can never die There's more to the picture Than meets the eye. Hey hey, my my.

Neil Young: Don't Be Denied....BBC documentary charting Neil's career from his first experiences in Canada through his trip south and his time with Buffalo Springfield, CSNY and Crazy Horse. Whilst he is claiming it is just about the music, the film shows Neil as a man of great integrity both musically and politically. Fascinating stuff. Neil Young grants rare and unprecedented access to the BBC for a documentary in which he traces his musical journey in his own words. The film was made from three hours of interview shot in New York and California, and uses previously unseen performance footage from the star's own extensive archives. It also features cohorts Stephen Stills, Graham Nash, David Crosby, Nils Lofgren and James Taylor. From his early transcontinental American quest for reco...
Well, I went with Mary Lou
Tried Peggy Sue
Had a date with Donna
And Barbara Ann too
But I'm kinda fonda Wanda.
Kinda fonda Wanda.
Yeah, I'm kinda fonda Wanda.
'Cause Wanda always
wanna, wanna, wanna.
Well, I went out with Jenny
Took out skinny Minnie
Long tall Sally
And short fat Fanny.
But I'm kinda fonda Wanda.
Kinda fonda Wanda.
Yeah, I'm kinda fonda Wanda.
'Cause Wanda always
wanna, wanna, wanna.
Did the bop with Miss Ann
The swim with Mary Ann,
The stroll with Betty Lou
Screwed runaround Sue
But she wasn't
as good as Wanda,
No, she'll never be
as good as Wanda.
I'm kinda fonda Wanda.
'Cause Wanda always
wanna, wanna, wanna.
Wanna, wanna, wanna,
wanna, wanna, wanna.
Kinda fonda Wanda.
Kinda fonda Wanda.
Yeah, I'm kinda fonda Wanda.
'Cause Wanda always
wanna, wanna, wanna.
Wanna, wanna, wanna,
wanna, wanna, wanna.
