Hello, today the 242nd post of GoldyRhox, classic pop rock, in the darklight is an American singer-songwriter born October 2, 1945, best known for the 1971 mystery album. When he was 15, his father passed away. Fulfilling his father's request, our man graduated from Iona Preparatory School, and briefly attended Villanova University, dropping out after four months. While at Villanova he became friends with singer/songwriter Jim Croce. After leaving Villanova, he became associated with famed folk music agent Harold Leventhal for several months before teaming up with personal manager Herb Gart for 18 years. For the next six years he performed at venues and events.
His albums did not match the commercial success of today's mystery album but he became a major concert attraction in the U.S. and overseas His repertoire included old concert hall numbers and the catalogues of singers such as Buddy Holly, and another influence, Frank Sinatra. The years spent playing gigs in small clubs and coffee houses in the 1960s transformed into well-paced performances. His first concerts at Carnegie Hall in New York and the Albert Hall in London in 1972 were critically acclaimed.
In recent years our man has continued to tour North America, Europe (2011, 2012) and Australia (2013). In June 2011 he appeared at the Glastonbury Festival in Pilton, UK and in 2014 at the Stagecoach Country Music Festival in California.

Most of the albums i 'll post made many millions for the music industry and a lot of what i intend to post still gets repackaged and remastered decades later, squeezing the last drop of profit out of bands that for the most part have ceased to exist long ago, although sometimes they get lured out of the mothballs to do a big bucks gig or tour. Now i'm not as naive to post this kinda music for all to see and have deleted, these will be a black box posts, i'm sorry for those on limited bandwidth but for most of you a gamble will get you a quality rip don't like it, deleting is just 2 clicks...That said i will try to accommodate somewhat and produce some cryptic info on the artist and or album.
Today's mystery album is the second studio album by the American mystery singer-songwriter, released by United Artists Records on 24 October 1971. The album was released to much acclaim, later being included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. The folk/rock album reached number one on the Billboard 200, containing the chart-topping singles "mystery album title track" and "Vincent." .
The mystery album was intended as a unified work, as our man has said that he was influenced by The Beatles' Sgt Pepper album and envisioned today's mystery album to be a similar album. Believing that an artist's work should stand by itself, he generally did not offer explanations for his work's themes or meaning, though he did describe the title song as involving "a sense of loss". The album was dedicated to Buddy Holly, a childhood icon of his, and was released in 1971 on the heels of the '60s, the defining decade of his generation. It has a melancholy feel and rather sparse arrangements. At the time of the writing our man’s first marriage was failing and the optimism and hopefulness of the 1960s was giving way to the nihilism and hedonism of the 1970s.
The album was recorded May and June 1971, in Studio A at The Record Plant on West 44th street in New York City. The producer, Ed Freeman, decided to use accomplished musicians who were not "studio musicians who could act like a metronome" because he wanted to capture the feel of a "band that was really cooking," so he rented a rehearsal studio and they rehearsed the title song for two weeks before they recorded it. Because our man rarely phrased his singing the same way twice there were as many as 24 takes for some of the voice parts, but the rhythm tracks are mostly one take.
The album was reissued on June 27, 2003 remastered, along with the addition of two bonus tracks. Here today ...N'Joy
