The Honourable Camille Robinson-Regis, Minister of Planning and Development and Mr. Richard Blewitt United Nations Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative has officially signed the first ever collaboration between the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and the United Nations to conduct a Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Mainstreaming, Acceleration and Policy Support (MAPS) Mission in Trinidad and Tobago.
The UNCT retreat provided an opportunity for strategic restructuring and to discuss the new UN Multi-Country Sustainable Development Framework (UN MSDF), its putting into practice through the Country Implementation Plan (CIP) and the communications and promotion for the UNCT in Trinidad and Tobago.
Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, the Honourable Ayanna Webster-Roy, in delivering the feature address, expressed that as citizens are embracing equality more than before with their increased awareness of oppression and increased empathies to others, the climate is ripe to build on and shape the conversation required to infuse and maintain measures that will facilitate the achievement of rights for women in all aspects of life in this country

The Honourable Minister of Planning Camille Robinson-Regis, in giving the feature address, expressed that the Report provides a focused and prioritised view for Caribbean governments to adopt innovative approaches to development that would enable them to navigate the current unpredictable global economy.
The United Nations Multi-Country Sustainable Development Framework (UN MSDF) defines how the UN will jointly achieve development results in partnership with 18 English- and Dutch-speaking Caribbean countries and Overseas Territories for the period 2017-2021.
