Truck driver killed after hitting roo near Albany

A truck-driver has died after hitting a kangaroo near Albany on Thursday morning.

The 63-year-old Middleton Beach man was driving a white Isuzu truck on the South Coast Highway near Marbelup Road at around 7am.

It is understood a kangaroo jumped into the path of the oncoming truck, and smashed the cabin windscreen.

The driver was seriously injured in the crash, and he was forced to pull his vehicle onto the side of the road.

Onlookers were quick to assist the driver, but he died at the scene.
