Kate and her actor brother live in N.Y. in the 21st Century. Her ex-boyfriend, Stuart, lives above her apartment. Stuart finds a space near the Brooklyn Bridge where there is a gap in time. He goes back to the 19th Century and takes pictures of the place. Leopold -- a man living in the 1870s -- is puzzled by Stuart's tiny camera, follows him back through the gap, and they both ended up in the present day. Leopold is clueless about his new surroundings. He gets help and insight from Charlie who thinks that Leopold is an actor who is always in character. Leopold is a highly intelligent man and tries his best to learn and even improve the modern conveniences that he encounters.

Stuart Dryburgh
Stuart Dryburgh (born 30 March 1952 in London) is an English-born New Zealand cinematographer, now working in Hollywood. He completed a degree in architecture at the University of Auckland, but subsequently moved into the film industry. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Cinematography for his work on the 1993 romance film, The Piano, but lost to Janusz Kaminski for Schindler's List. Dryburgh was also nominated for an Emmy for his work on the Boardwalk Empire pilot.
He lives in Brooklyn, New York.

Dryburgh
Dryburgh is a village in the Borders region of Scotland, within the county of Berwickshire. It is most famous for the ruined Dryburgh Abbey.
The Temple of the Muses
This circular nine columned gazebo stands since 1817 on Bass Hill, a mound overlooking the River Tweed at the west end of the village. It is dedicated to the poet James Thomson, the Ednam poet and author of "The Seasons" and the lyrics of Rule Britannia, and his bust can be seen on the top of the structure.
The temple originally contained a stone statue of the Apollo Belvedere on a circular pedestal showing nine Muses with laurel wreaths. Bronze figures of the Four Seasons by Siobhan O'Hehir were installed as a replacement in 2002.
William Wallace Statue, Bemersyde
Dryburgh was the first town to erect a monument in honour of William Wallace, in 1814. It is said that Sir Walter Scott did not like the structure. The current statue is in the grounds of Bemersyde House.

Hugh Jackman
Hugh Michael Jackman (born 12 October 1968) is an Australian actor, singer, and producer. Jackman has won international recognition for his roles in major films, notably as superhero, period, and romance characters. He is best known for his long-running role as Wolverine in the X-Men film series, as well as for his lead roles in the romantic-comedy fantasy Kate & Leopold (2001), the action-horror film Van Helsing (2004), the magic-themed drama The Prestige (2006), the epic historical romantic drama Australia (2008), the sci-fi sports drama Real Steel (2011), the film version of Les Misérables (2012), and the thriller Prisoners (2013). His work in Les Misérables earned him his first Academy Award nomination for Best Actor and his first Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy in 2013. In theater, he won a Tony Award for his role in The Boy from Oz.
A four-time host of the Tony Awards, winning an Emmy Award for one of these appearances, Jackman also hosted the 81st Academy Awards on 22 February 2009.

Joe Crowley goes on a journey along the River Tweed, following the path of the returning salmon. Joe starts just up-river from Berwick-upon-Tweed, where he joins a team tagging the salmon to survey their numbers. At Kelso, Joe tries his hand at spey casting, a specialist form of fly fishing, before travelling to Philiphaugh. Here he tests the biodiversity of the Tweed by a method known as kick sampling, and catches up with the salmon as they leap upstream. Joe finishes his journey at Selkirk, on the Scottish side of the border, the site of a defining battle in the Wars of the Three Kingdoms.

Joe Crowley goes on a journey along the River Tweed, following the path of the returning salmon. Joe starts just up-river from Berwick-upon-Tweed, where he joins a team tagging the salmon to survey their numbers.
At Kelso, Joe tries his hand at spey casting, a specialist form of fly fishing, before travelling to Philiphaugh. Here he tests the biodiversity of the Tweed by a method known as kick sampling, and catches up with the salmon as they leap upstream.
Joe finishes his journey at Selkirk, on the Scottish side of the border, the site of a defining battle in the Wars of the Three Kingdoms.
