I seriously do not understand what is wrong with some people. You don't just shoot someone for sitting in their car! In this tragic video I'm going to talk about some breaking news that just came out of Chesapeake, Virginia. Apparently a security guard killed a grandfather for playing pokemon go. It's really tragic and unfortunately it was not an accident.

“When you see fish swimming on your road, you’ve got major problems,” Dave Schulte, a marine biologist with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, told VICE News correspondent Arielle Duhaime-Ross. “That’s for sure.”
Welcome to Tangier Island, on the Virginia side of the Chesapeake Bay, where 500 residents are struggling to cope with rising waters that are claiming more of their land each year.
“I refuse to become a climate change refugee,” Tangier Island Mayor James “Ooker” Eskridge said. Yet that’s exactly what community residents will be facing later this century without intervention, Schulte projected.
Since 1850, the island has lost two-thirds of its land mass. Many residents believe building a $30 million sea wall is Tangier’s only hope of saving what remains of the island, but Congress hasn’t approved funding for the wall.
“If we don’t get a sea wall, this is what you’ll find on Tangier in a few years: remnants of homes,” Tangier Island resident Carol Pruitt-Moore said.
Schulte warns that Tangier isn’t an isolated case but rather a sign of things to come. “As climate change is impacting us, we’re going to be making these decisions over and over again all over the country,” he said. “Who are we going to move? What are we going to do?”

Chesapeake, Virginia
Chesapeake is an independent city located in the U.S. state of Virginia. As of the 2010 census, the population was 222,209, in 2013, the population was estimated to be 232,977, making it the third-most populous city in Virginia.
Chesapeake is included in the Virginia Beach–Norfolk–Newport News, VA–NC MSA. One of the cities in the South Hampton Roads, Chesapeake was organized in 1963 by voter referendums approving the political consolidation of the city of South Norfolk with the remnants of the former Norfolk County, which dated to 1691. (Much of the territory of the county had been annexed by other cities.) Chesapeake is the second-largest city by land area in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Chesapeake is a diverse city in which a few urban areas are located; it also has many square miles of protected farmland, forests, and wetlands, including a substantial portion of the Great Dismal Swamp National Wildlife Refuge. Extending from the rural border with North Carolina to the harbor area of Hampton Roads adjacent to the cities of Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, and Virginia Beach, Chesapeake is located on the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway. It has miles of waterfront industrial, commercial and residential property.

“When you see fish swimming on your road, you’ve got major problems,” Dave Schulte, a marine biologist with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, told VICE News correspondent Arielle Duhaime-Ross. “That’s for sure.”
Welcome to Tangier Island, on the Virginia side of the Chesapeake Bay, where 500 residents are struggling to cope with rising waters that are claiming more of their land each year.
“I refuse to become a climate change refugee,” Tangier Island Mayor James “Ooker” Eskridge said. Yet that’s exactly what community residents will be facing later this century without intervention, Schulte projected.
Since 1850, the island has lost two-thirds of its land mass. Many residents believe building a $30 million sea wall is Tangier’s only hope of saving what remains of the island, but Congress hasn’t approved funding for the wall.
“If we don’t get a sea wall, this is what you’ll find on Tangier in a few years: remnants of homes,” Tangier Island resident Carol Pruitt-Moore said.
Schulte warns that Tangier isn’t an isolated case but rather a sign of things to come. “As climate change is impacting us, we’re going to be making these decisions over and over again all over the country,” he said. “Who are we going to move? What are we going to do?”

THE PRESIDENT: Thank you, everybody, very much. Good morning and I greatly appreciate you being here. We have some real experts with us and we have some great bankers with us.
Today's discussion is crucial to my jobs agenda and to the American people. Community banks play a vital role in helping create jobs by providing approximately half of all loans to small businesses, and that's been dwindling because the community banks have been in big trouble.
Nearly half of all private-sector workers are employed by small businesses. We must ensure access to capital. Small businesses -- small businesses to grow. Community banks are the backbone of small business in America. We are going to preserve our community banks.
You probably know this -- I signed an executive order on regulation on February 3rd, I believe it was. And that's a big executive order, a very powerful executive order. It's taking a lot of the regulation away. You'll be able to loan. You'll be able to be safe. But you'll be able to provide the jobs that we want and also create great businesses.
So it's an honor to have you with us today, and perhaps we could go around the room. And we'll start with Dorothy, and say who you are and who you represent.

In which John Green teaches you about some of the colonies that were not in Virginia or Massachussetts. Old New York was once New Amsterdam. Why they changed it, I can say; ENGLISH people just liked it better that way, and when the English took New Amsterdam in 1643, that's just what they did. Before the English got there though, the colony was full of Dutch people who treated women pretty fairly, and allowed free black people to hold jobs. John also discusses Penn's Woods, also known as Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania was (briefly) a haven of religious freedom, and William Penn dealt relatively fairly with the natives his colony displaced. Of course, as soon as Penn died, the colonist started abusing the natives immediately. We venture as far south as the Carolina colonies, where the slave labor economy was taking shape. John also takes on the idea of the classless society in America, and the beginning of the idea of the American dream. It turns out that in spite of the lofty dream that everyone had an equal shot in the new world, there were elites in the colonies. And these elites tended to be in charge. And then their kids tended to take over when they died. So yeah, not quite an egalitarian paradise. In addition to all this, we get into the Salem Witch Trials, the treatment of women in the colonies, and colonial economics. Oh yeah, one more thing, before you comment about how he says we're talking about the American Revolution next week, but the end screen says Seven Years War, consider that perhaps the Seven Years War laid the groundwork for the revolution to happen.

There's a VERY cool statue called King Neptune. I'm on the boardwalk of Virginia Beach, Virginia. From my trip on June 28, 2009. The day I was there, it was very overcast and grey. Virginia Beach has a beautiful big sandy beach but no waves. The 34-foot high cast bronze King Neptune statue stands between Neptune Park and the sea. King Neptune, is an awesome sculpture all the way around. At Neptune's Park is the Hilton Hotel and the Virginia Beach Amphitheater which is a 20,000-capacity outdoor concert venue hosting 30-40 events each season.
Up and down Atlantic Avenue are more restaurants and junk food joints than you could dream of. I seriously have never seen so many restaurants advertising breakfast and above all pancakes in my life. If you want to eat pizza, ice cream, pancakes, hamburgers, subs, and any other artery clogging food then Virginia Beach's Atlantic Avenue is the place to be. Oh yeah, and seafood buffets are advertised heavily but they aren't cheap and definitely not as good as the Bellagio Buffet in Las Vegas which really is the best buffet and best seafood buffet ever.
The boardwalk is marked at every 1/2 mile and is a total of three miles long and 28 feet wide. There are two separate paved sections. One has a yellow center line for coming and going traffic of surries, bicycles, and rollerbladers. The other is a wide concrete walkway for pedestrians. The entire length of the boardwalk has a park life atmosphere with musical stages at four different streets, nautical sculptures, restaurants, vendors, bike rentals and hotels and condos overlooking the ocean.
There is deep sea fishing, pier fishing at Rudee Inlet or Lynnhaven Inlet, surf fishing and inshore fishing that will please any angler. There are over 198 holes to golf in Virginia Beach either inland or overlooking the ocean. Check out Mount Trashmore a former landfill and now a kids park and skate park with ramps. Along the boardwalk is the Old Coast Guard Station museum and two Cape Henry Lighthouses are at Fort Story which is at the entrance to the Chesapeake Bay just north of the resort area. Explore the seashore to cypress birding trail. Kayak bays, rivers, lakes, marshes areas and fingers of water that all flow into the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay.

In which John Green teaches you about the (English) colonies in what is now the United States. He covers the first permanent English colony at Jamestown, Virginia, the various theocracies in Massachusetts, the feudal kingdom in Maryland, and even a bit about the spooky lost colony at Roanoke Island. What were the English doing in America, anyway? Lots of stuff. In Virginia, the colonists were largely there to make money. In Maryland, the idea was to create a a colony for Catholics who wanted to be serfs of the Lords Baltimore. In Massachusetts, the Pilgrims and Puritans came to America to find a place where they could freely persecute those who didn't share their beliefs. But there was a healthy profit motive in Massachusetts as well. Profits were thin at first, and so were the colonists. Trouble growing food and trouble with the natives kept the early colonies from success. Before long though, the colonists started cultivating tobacco, which was a win for everyone involved if you ignore the lung cancer angle. So kick back, light up a smoke, and learn how America became profitable. DON'T SMOKE, THOUGH! THAT WAS A JOKE!

In which John Green teaches you about some of the colonies that were not in Virginia or Massachussetts. Old New York was once New Amsterdam. Why they changed it, I can say; ENGLISH people just liked it better that way, and when the English took New Amsterdam in 1643, that's just what they did. Before the English got there though, the colony was full of Dutch people who treated women pretty fairly, and allowed free black people to hold jobs. John also discusses Penn's Woods, also known as Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania was (briefly) a haven of religious freedom, and William Penn dealt relatively fairly with the natives his colony displaced. Of course, as soon as Penn died, the colonist started abusing the natives immediately. We venture as far south as the Carolina colonies, where the slave labor economy was taking shape. John also takes on the idea of the classless society in America, and the beginning of the idea of the American dream. It turns out that in spite of the lofty dream that everyone had an equal shot in the new world, there were elites in the colonies. And these elites tended to be in charge. And then their kids tended to take over when they died. So yeah, not quite an egalitarian paradise. In addition to all this, we get into the Salem Witch Trials, the treatment of women in the colonies, and colonial economics. Oh yeah, one more thing, before you comment about how he says we're talking about the American Revolution next week, but the end screen says Seven Years War, consider that perhaps the Seven Years War laid the groundwork for the revolution to happen.

Within the tall walls of an industrial park located in Deep Creek, countless numbers of zombies have been corralled, just waiting to be exterminated. Don't be afraid, our ZAV's (Zombie Assault Vehicles) have been armed with semi-automatic paintball rifles, equipped with zombie killing tracer rounds designed specifically to put those flesh eaters back in the ground from whence they came. 10/8/14 - Deep Creek Middle vs Hickory Middle. Chesapeake, VA. Down 0-14 with 4 minutes remaining in regulation. Inspired by their coaches and each other, displaying tremendous heart and a refusal to give up, the Mighty Hornets of Deep Creek Middle School battled back to tied the score and force overtime. DCMS got the ball first, in OT. They scored a TD on fourth down and were successful on their 2-point conversion. Hickory got their turn and scored a beautiful TD on first down. Hickory threw a pass to tie the game, but the Hornets swarmed the ball in the end zone, coming up with the game-winning interception! Deep Creek 22-20 over Hickory!!

DCMS got the ball first, in OT. They scored a TD on fourth down and were successful on their 2-point conversion. Hickory got their turn and scored a beautiful TD on first down. Hickory threw a pass to tie the game, but the Hornets swarmed the ball in the end zone, coming up with the game-winning interception!

Hi, I'm Judy Friedberg and I am happy to tell you about my home state of Virginia.
Officially known as the Commonwealth of Virginia, this mid-Atlantic state is
bordered by Washington, DC, Maryland, West Virginia and North Carolina. And,
to the East, the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean border Virginia's Eastern
Shore, another peninsula of Virginia land.
More than eight million people live in Virginia. Our state flower is actually a
flowering tree -- the dogwood. Our state bird is the cardinal.
Much of our state's natural beauty is protected by National Parks. My favorite is
Great Falls Park which highlights a rushing section of the Potomac River, which
flows to the Bay from the mountains in the west. Those mountains are also known
as The Blue Ridge Mountains, due to the coloring of the trees and shadows,
particularly in the early morning and early evening light.
Much of this area is included in Shenandoah National Park. Within the park is a
portion of the beautiful Appalachian Trail -- a rigorous hiking trail which extends
from Georgia to Maine. In the autumn, the leaves are at their most colorful.
Skyline Drive runs through the park. This is a fantastic way to see the beauty of the
mountains and the Shenandoah Valley from the comfort of your car.
The Shenandoah Valley is known for dairy farms and wineries. Virginia's farming
history also includes tobacco and cotton.
Virginia's nicknames refer to its rich history. "The Old Dominion" refers to its status
as one of the original 13 colonies. Virginia's other nickname is "The Mother of
Presidents. " Eight U.S. presidents were born here - more than any other state.
Some of their homes are open to the public as historic sites.
Mount Vernon, home of our first President, George Washington, sits high on a bluff
overlooking the Potomac River, not far from Washington, DC.
Monticello, home of our third President and drafter of our Declaration of
Independence, Thomas Jefferson, is located in Charlottesville, Virginia. The
University of Virginia, which Jefferson founded, is nearby.
But, back to some much earlier history...Native people, including the Powhatan,
Algonquin, and Iroquois, were already living in the area long before the English
settlers came. Some say the name Virginia was the settlers' way of honoring Queen
Elizabeth the First of England, who was also known as "The Virgin Queen."
You may have heard of the story of Pocahontas? She was a native of the area and a
friend to the English settlers of the colony's first capitol, Jamestown, in 1616.
Williamsburg served as the capitol of the Colony of Virginia from the early 1700s
and was the center of political activity leading to the American Revolution.
Both Jamestown and Williamsburg have active historic centers where you can learn
more about colonial life.
Richmond became the state capital in 1780 and remains so today. In 1861, after ten
states seceded from the United States, Richmond became the capital of the shortlived
Confederate States of America.
After the Civil War ended, and these states re-entered the Union, Richmond
developed into a railroad crossroads for the region. These strong railroads helped
develop trade routes between the middle of the country and the Atlantic Ocean and
led to the founding of Newport News Shipbuilding which continues to produce
battleships and aircraft carriers. Nearby Hampton Roads is the largest naval base on
the east coast.
Virginia is also home to the world's largest office building, The Pentagon,
headquarters of the Defense Department.
Other Virginia coastal attractions are historic lighthouses including Cape Henry,
Fort Monroe and Assateague. Assateague is also the home of the Chincoteague wild
ponies. And, if you visit there perhaps you will order some delicious Chesapeake
Bay blue crab and a beer for your dinner.
Today, media, technology, software, communications, and consulting are the fastest growing sectors of Virginia's economy. The education sector, particularly Virginia's
200-plus colleges and universities, and the government employment sector are also
growth areas. All of this and more, make Virginia the wealthiest of the southern
United States.

Rev. Alvin R. Knight, 67, of the 1100 block of N. Carrington Crescent, passed away October 20, 2008, in Chesapeake, VA.

He pastored Millneck Baptist Church in Como, NC. He was the Dean and President of the Baptist Sunday School and B. T. U. Congress of Virginia. He was in the National Christian Education Congress, was Organizer of the The Black Male's Institute in Norfolk, VA and belonged to the Southern Baptist Foreign Mission Board. He was a Boy Scouts of America Leader and sat on the Business Education Advisory Committee.
Pastor Knight is survived by his wife, Margaret B. Knight; three daughters, Sherita Parks and husband James of Chesapeake, VA, Sabrina Thompson and husband Micahl of Chesapeake, VA and Amy Diggins and husband Danny of Baltimore, MD; five grandchildren, Quinton Monroe, Marquis Gibson, Brandon Gibson, Joshua Diggins and Victoria Diggins; two sisters, Betty Knight of Bronx, NY and Barbara Knight of Suffolk, VA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be conducted Friday, October 24, 2008, at East End Baptist Church, 523 East Washington St., Suffolk, VA. The burial will be private. The family will receive friends at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.snellingsfuneralhome.com.

A native of Suffolk, VA, he was the son of the late Soloman and Josephine Knight. He received his B.S. from Virginia State University in 1963, his M.S. from Howard University in 1970 and his Masters of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1998. He pastored Millneck Baptist Church in Como, NC. He was the Dean and President of the Baptist Sunday School and B. T. U. Congress of Virginia. He was in the National Christian Education Congress, was Organizer of the The Black Male's Institute in Norfolk, VA and belonged to the Southern Baptist Foreign Mission Board. He was a Boy Scouts of America Leader and sat on the Business Education Advisory Committee.
Pastor Knight is survived by his wife, Margaret B. Knight; three daughters, Sherita Parks and husband James of Chesapeake, VA, Sabrina Thompson and husband Micahl of Chesapeake, VA and Amy Diggins and husband Danny of Baltimore, MD; five grandchildren, Quinton Monroe, Marquis Gibson, Brandon Gibson, Joshua Diggins and Victoria Diggins; two sisters, Betty Knight of Bronx, NY and Barbara Knight of Suffolk, VA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be conducted Friday, October 24, 2008, at East End Baptist Church, 523 East Washington St., Suffolk, VA. The burial will be private. The family will receive friends at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.snellingsfuneralhome.com.
