The Music

The Music were an English alternative rock band, formed in Kippax, Leeds in 1999. Comprising Robert Harvey (vocals, guitar), Adam Nutter (lead guitar), Stuart Coleman (bass) and Phil Jordan (drums), the band came to prominence with the release of their debut album, The Music, in 2002. The band released two further studio albums, Welcome to the North (2004) and Strength in Numbers (2008), before parting ways in 2011.

Career

The Music all met at Brigshaw High School, except Phil Jordan who went to Garforth, and began playing in 1999 as Insense. In 2001 the song "Take the Long Road and Walk It" circulated as a demo before being released by Fierce Panda as a 1000-copies-only single, a rarity from its day of release. Around this time the NME and Steve Lamacq were describing them as the best unsigned band in Britain. The band were quickly signed by Hut, who released their first EP You Might as Well Try to Fuck Me.

In 2002, following another EP (The People) they released their eponymous début album which reached No. 4 in the UK album charts. Their début single was re-issued as part of a two-disc set to promote the album, and reached No. 14 in the singles chart. Two further singles from the album, "Getaway" and "The Truth is No Words" reached No. 26 and No. 18 respectively. June 2003 saw them filling in for an absent Zwan on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival.

Must Be the Music

Must Be the Music was a British television musical talent competition contested by aspiring singers and musicians drawn from public auditions. The show was a music competition and reality show that was broadcast in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Auditions were held in Edinburgh, Manchester, London and also held in Ireland. The show began airing in August on Sky1, and was also simulcast in HD. Fearne Cotton presented the show. The first and only series was won by Emma's Imagination, a female singer from Dumfries.

The winning act received £100,000 to help kick-start their music career. In the initial televised audition phase as well as the three semi-finals and final, contestants sang in front of the judges - Jamie Cullum, Sharleen Spiteri and Dizzee Rascal. Among the notable artists competing in the show were Irish fiddler Daithí Ó Drónaí and The Trinity Band, who went on to win Live and Unsigned in 2011.

The show was broadcast on Sky1. Must Be the Music was devised as a spin-off for the highly successful Got to Dance, which finished its first series in February. The live finals were held at Wembley Arena. Must Be the Music had a live audience behind the judges. During the live finals, the public voted for their favourite act, which they wished to keep in the competition.

So Wrong

So Wrong is a song written by Carl Perkins, Danny Dill and Mel Tillis and popularized by country music artist Patsy Cline. The song was released as a single on Decca Records in 1962 by Patsy Cline.

Background

Patsy Cline was best known for her string of Country and Pop ballads like "I Fall to Pieces", "Crazy" and "She's Got You". By 1962, Cline was already successful on both the Country and Pop singles charts. Her first hit that year was the song "She's Got You". After that, Cline released a string of hits, like "So Wrong". "So Wrong" was released in mid-1962 as a Decca 45 single, 31406, b/w "You're Stronger Than Me", and became a Billboard Top 20 Country Hit, reaching #14. Its success on the Pop charts was not as successful as her previous hits, reaching #85 on the Pop charts. The song was released as a single in Canada on Decca and on Brunswick in the UK, 45-05874. The song was also released as a 45 single in New Zealand on Festival Records as FK-253 as a B side and as part of a picture sleeve 45 EP.

Take You Home

"Take You Home" is a song by British-Norwegian boyband A1, released as the lead single from their fourth studio album, Waiting for Daylight. Released nearly a year prior to the album, it is the group's first single release not to feature former band member Paul Marazzi, as he left the group seven years prior. The single was released on 2 November 2009 in Norway only, after heavy promotion of the song on The X Factor in Norway. The song peaked at No. 9 on the Norwegian Singles Chart, and at No. 3 on Norwegian iTunes. The track also served as the 2009 Norwegian Comic Relief charity single.
