QLife is Australia’s first nationally-oriented counselling and referral service for people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and/or intersex (LGBTI). QLife provides nation-wide, early intervention, peer supported telephone and web based services to people of all ages across the full breadth of people’s bodies, genders, relationships, sexualities, and lived experiences.

QLife will enable our communities to work towards our own better health outcomes by providing a place to talk about mental health, relationships, isolation, coming out and a whole host of other concerns. We bring together and enhance the work of our five state-based partner agencies, based in capital cities across Australia.

Help For You

If you’re looking to connect with someone to explore what’s going on in your life, QLife is a great place to start. We have several ways of contacting QLife that you can choose from, whether you’d prefer to speak with a counsellor on the phone, to chat with someone online, or even to start the conversation and get some ideas from us via email. So, what’s most comfortable for you?

Help For Someone Else

Asking for help, information or advice about local services can be on behalf of someone you know and love. QLife welcomes contact from people who may not be LGB, T or I themselves, but who are worried about someone else in their lives. If you don’t know where to start looking for help in your community, calling QLife for some local knowledge is a great choice.

Welcome to QLives! As Australia’s nation-wide project for LGBTI people we hear and share in the stories and experiences of people we have contact with every day of the year. We’re happy now to present the stories of some individuals within our diverse and varied LGBTI communities, people brave enough to show that our stories are important and moving.

We understand that for many people, the hearing and watching of stories is an early way into understanding that they, too, can ask for help, or that help is available for their loved ones. These stories are a way to see a facet your own story in the experiences of someone who has been there, and, maybe too, to see a way through your own current struggles.

QLives is a way for us as a whole community to be open to our individual differences, while respecting that just perhaps we are all in this together.
