The Germany national football team (German: Die deutsche Fußballnationalmannschaft) is the men's football team that has represented Germany in international competition since 1908. It is governed by the German Football Association (Deutscher Fußball-Bund), founded in 1900. Ever since the DFB was reinaugurated in 1949 the team has represented the Federal Republic of Germany. Under Allied occupation and division, two other separate national teams were also recognised by FIFA: the Saarland team representing the Saarland (1950–1956) and the East German team representing the German Democratic Republic (1952–1990). Both have been absorbed along with their records by the current national team. The official name and code "Germany FR (FRG)" was shortened to "Germany (GER)" following the reunification in 1990.
Germany is one of the most successful national teams in international competitions, having won a total of four World Cups (1954, 1974, 1990, 2014) and three European Championships (1972, 1980, 1996). They have also been runners-up three times in the European Championships, four times in the World Cup, and have won a further four third places. East Germany won Olympic Gold in 1976. Germany is the only nation to have won both the men's and women's World Cups. At the end of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Germany earned the highest Elo rating of any national football team in history, with a record 2200 points. Germany is also the only European nation that has won the FIFA World Cup in South America. The current manager of the national team is Joachim Löw.

World Cup can also refer to:
A football team is the collective name given to a group of players selected together in the various team sports known as football.
Such teams could be selected to play in a match against an opposing team, to represent a football club, group, state or nation, an All-star team or even selected as a hypothetical team (such as a Dream Team or Team of the Century) and never play an actual match.
There are several varieties of football, notably Association football, Gridiron football, Australian rules football, Gaelic football, rugby league, and rugby union. The number of players selected for each team within these varieties and their associated codes can vary substantially. In some, use of the word "team" is sometimes limited to those who play on the field in a match and does not always include other players who may take part as replacements or emergency players. "Football squad" may be used to be inclusive of these support and reserve players.
The term football club is the most commonly used for a sports club which is an organised or incorporated body with a president, committee and a set of rules responsible for ensuring the continued playing existence of one or more teams which are selected for regular competition play (and which may participate in several different divisions or leagues). The oldest football clubs date back to the early 19th century. The words team and club are sometimes used interchangeably by supporters, although they typically refer to the team within the club playing in the highest division or competition.
National football team may refer to:

Germany (/ˈdʒɜːrməni/; German: Deutschland [ˈdɔʏtʃlant]), officially the Federal Republic of Germany (German: Bundesrepublik Deutschland, listen ), is a federal parliamentary republic in West-Central Europe. It includes 16 constituent states and covers an area of 357,021 square kilometres (137,847 sq mi) with a largely temperate seasonal climate. Its capital and largest city is Berlin. With about 81.5 million inhabitants, Germany is the most populous member state in the European Union. After the United States, it is the second most popular migration destination in the world.
Various Germanic tribes have occupied northern Germany since classical antiquity. A region named Germania was documented before 100 AD. During the Migration Period the Germanic tribes expanded southward. Beginning in the 10th century, German territories formed a central part of the Holy Roman Empire. During the 16th century, northern German regions became the centre of the Protestant Reformation.

While this certainly is not one of our largest projects, it is possibly the most internationally present one so far. And it's a good laugh, too. The Football Globe Germany is slanted to tour from Tokyo to Paris to Milan to Zurich before "it's coming home" (excuse the pun) to Berlin for the opening of the "2006 FIFA World Cup™" on june 8th, 2006. Sponsored by the National DFB Cultural Foundation, commissioned by artistic and cultural programme curator Andre Heller to the Art+Sports GmbH and designed by our all-time favorite client 3deluxe, this project gave us the task of planning and realizing the infotainment stations that deliver its message to the people. The digital centerpiece -- next to two info-browser stations -- is a ''corner flag dance game''. Show off your love for football by...

June 2010. During the first football worldcup in Africa three Germans travelled to Ghana to discover the secret of African football and what significance the game has for the local people. Ghana is a football nation, just like Germany. It's national team is even named after the symbol on the Ghanaian flag: The Black Stars, first summoned shortly after the nation declared it's independence in 1957, are for many Ghanaians a representation of a strong, free Africa. Here, football is much more than just a sport. The nation's passion takes shape in the stories people tell on the sidelines, in the streets and at the cocoa plantations. An encounter with the rough Ghanaian day-to-day and it's true heroes.
Germany scored all 18 goals through seven matches in the 2014 World Cup and won the tournament. They impressively beat Brazil by the highest score ever 7-1 in World Cup semi-final history and made it a record. In the final game, they defeated Argentina 1-0 and became the first and only European national football team have won the FIFA World Cup in the Americas. It's their fourth title. ❤❤❤❤

The Mercedes-Benz world cup 2014 TVC is based on a single visual premise: always going forward. This we achieved by creating a one shot ad that uses no cuts at all, but unique visual transitions and illusions. All supported by a driving sound track of the British band Rudimental and a bold sound design. This steady forward motion also is true for the German national team and Mercedes-Benz itself – they both constantly progress and never stop improving. Thus this year, they both are "Ready as never before".
