Welcome to the United States Marine Corps Recruit Training at the Marine Recruit Depot, San Diego. MCRD San Diego's main mission is the initial training of enlisted male recruits living west of the Mississippi River. Over 21,000 recruits are trained each year. The Depot also is the home to the Marine Corps' Recruiter School and Western Recruiting Region's Drill Instructors School.

Obama Will NOT Like What This Brave Marine Said About His “Legacy”
When President Barack Obama took the stage in a farewell speech that summed up his Presidency, to a crowd of die-hard liberals, one marine known only as “J” wasn’t convinced.
J contacted us to publish his response to Obama’s farewell speech, and essentially his entire Presidency. We can’t agree more. Here is the letter in its entirety.
This Is Your Legacy
Mr. President,
“For the first time, I can say that I’m proud of my country.” No, these aren’t my words, they’re the words of your wife when you took office in 2009. This set the tone for the kind of President you’d be, and the kind of legacy you left behind.
Your speech to your adoring fans screaming “Four more years!” makes for a good sound bite and video clip, but it doesn’t paint the picture of the tens of millions of regular Americans that voted you in twice and gotten stabbed in the back for it.
You stood in front of hundreds of veterans and promised that their lives would be better after you took office, that they would get the care that their country owed them. Eight years later, the VA is more broken than ever and my brothers and sisters in arms are committing suicide at an all time high. You ignored the advice of wartime Generals and pulled troops out of an unstable country and gave rise to ISIS, the most evil group of people on the planet. This is your legacy.
Our country is twice as much in debt as it was when you took office, to the tune of nearly $20 trillion. That number is so large that is may as well be monopoly money, and the only people that are footing the bill are our children, the ones that you cut off at the knees by taking millions in “donations” from bloated teachers’ unions. You know, the ones who hire teachers who can’t teach and can’t be fired. This is your legacy.
You said that America became stronger, but all you did was apologize to corrupt world leaders and made deals with radical Muslims who want us and our allies in Israel to be wiped off the map. You downplayed terrorist attacks as workplace violence, and used national tragedies to trample on the second amendment rights of law abiding citizens. You legitimized the hateful Black Lives Matter movement and gave them the ability to poison the minds of our inner city youth, then stood on the graves on the officers that lost their lives as a result and had the audacity to lecture grieving police officers about race relations. This is your legacy.
You said middle America clings to God and guns, while you waged war on both. You tried to pass yourself off as a Christian, while telling radical Muslim nations that practice Sharia Law that you stand with them. This is your legacy.
You spoke about Obamacare being a force for good, but don’t have the common sense to realize that holding a gun to the heads of people who work for a living, to pay for the ones that don’t, makes everyone worse off. Making it illegal for people not to have coverage is exactly the kind of socialism that conservatives warned about before you got into office. You dismissed these claims as conspiracy theories, but now we have regular, healthy families having to pay tens of thousands of dollars for the bare minimum of healthcare. This is your legacy.
Before you were elected, you made the case that the first black President would be a milestone for this country. Eight years later, you’re standing on the podium, saying “Yes, We Did,” like you’ve accomplished something other than playing a record amount of golf as the country gets ready for its second great recession. What may come as a surprise to you and the rest of the now far-left pundits that run the media is, the color of your skin never mattered to America. It was the policies that attracted Americans, the decency and unity that you said you’d restore to this nation, and it was the betrayal of these ideas which gave us an actual outsider, and the person that you failed to stop, Donald Trump.
Your Presidency was a wake-up call for America. You said that you’re now motivated to chime in about our political system as a citizen, but I’m here to tell you, as someone who loves this country and will fight to the death to protect the Constitution that you referred to as “just a piece of parchment,” that America has awakened to your self-serving ideology and they’ve had enough of you.

"Slow" marine animals show their secret life under high magnification. Corals and sponges build coral reefs and play crucial roles in the biosphere, yet we know almost nothing about their daily lives. These animals are actually very mobile creatures. However their motion is only detectable at different time scales compared to ours and requires time lapses to be seen.

Make sure you watch the video on a large screen. This clip is displayed in Full HD, yet the source footage (or the whole clip), is available in UltraHD 4k resolution for media productions.
The answer to a common question: yes, colors are "real" and not exaggerated by digital enhancement. We have only applied basic white balance correction. However, we used specialized lights to mimic the underwater ambient spectrum. When photographers use white light (artificial spectrum) on corals, they simply miss the vast majority of colours. Corals have spectrum-sensitive colouration due to fluorescent pigments.
The duration of sequences varied from 20 minutes to 6+ hours.

To make this little clip we took 150000 shots. Why so many? Because macro photography involves shallow depth of field. To extend it, we used focus stacking and deconvolution algorithms. Each frame of the video is actually a stack that consists of 3-12 shots.
Just the intro and the last scene are regular real-time footage. One frame required about 10 minutes of processing time (raw conversion + stacking + deconvolution in some scenes). Unfortunately, the success rate was very low due to copious technical challenges and we spent almost 9 long months to get it right.

Marines
Marines, also known as a marine corps and naval infantry, are an infantry force that specializes in the support of naval and army operations on land and at sea, as well as the execution of their own operations. In the majority of countries, the marine force is part of the navy, but it can also be under the army like the Troupes de marine (French Marines) and Givati Brigade (Israeli Marines), or form an independent armed service branch like the United States Marine Corps and Royal Marines.
Historically, tasks undertaken by marines have included providing protection from war while at sea, reflecting the pressed nature of the ships' company and the risk of mutiny. Other tasks would include boarding of vessels during combat or capture of prize ships and providing manpower for raiding ashore in support of the naval objectives.
With the industrialization of warfare in the 20th century the scale of landing operations increased; this brought with it an increased likelihood of opposition and a need for co-ordination of various military elements. San Diego

Recruit training
Recruit training, more commonly known as Basic Training and colloquially called boot camp, is the initial indoctrination and instruction given to new military personnel, enlisted and officer. After completion of Basic Training, new recruits undergo Advanced Individual Training (AIT), where they learn the skills needed for their military jobs. Officer trainees undergo more detailed programs that may either precede or follow the common recruit training in an officer training academy (which may also offer a civilian degree program simultaneously) or in special classes at a civilian university. During recruit training, drill instructors do everything possible to push a recruit to his or her physical and mental limits.

Recruit training varies by nation according to the national requirement and can be voluntary (volunteer military) or mandatory (conscription). Approximately 100 nations, including the United Kingdom and United States, have a volunteer military service. In voluntary service an individual chooses to join and thereby agrees to be subjected to the process of building an organization where each life depends on the person next to them. Week
A week is a time unit equal to seven days. It is the standard time period used for cycles of work days and rest days in most parts of the world, mostly alongside (but not strictly part of) the Gregorian calendar.

Corals and sponges build coral reefs and play crucial roles in the biosphere, yet we know almost nothing about their daily lives. These animals are actually very mobile creatures. However their motion is only detectable at different time scales compared to ours and requires time lapses to be seen. www.bioqueststudios.com.au Make sure you watch the video on a large screen. This clip is displayed in Full HD, yet the source footage (or the whole clip), is available in UltraHD 4k resolution for media productions. The answer to a common question: yes, colors are "real" and not exaggerated by digital enhancement. We have only applied basic white balance correction. However, we used specialized lights to mimic the underwater ambient spectrum. When photographers use white light (artificial spectrum) on corals, they simply miss the vast majority of colours. Corals have spectrum-sensitive colouration due to fluorescent pigments. The duration of sequences varied from 20 minutes to 6+ hours. === Technical details === To make this little clip we took 150000 shots. Why so many? Because macro photography involves shallow depth of field. To extend it, we used focus stacking and deconvolution algorithms. Each frame of the video is actually a stack that consists of 3-12 shots. Just the intro and the last scene are regular real-time footage. One frame required about 10 minutes of processing time (raw conversion + stacking + deconvolution in some scenes). Unfortunately, the success rate was very low due to copious technical challenges and we spent almost 9 long months to get it right. We were lucky enough to work with dutch film director Martin Koolhoven on 3 TVC’s to recruit technicians for the Dutch Defense (Marines, Air Force & Ground Force). His idea to portrait the technician as a hero on epic level was one we could not resist to cooperate on. A raw and cinematic approach was the right way to go. With wireframes and fast mechanic animations we got the right look and feel for the animation parts. Next to all the animations, we were responsible for post production and supervision on location. When President Barack Obama took the stage in a farewell speech that summed up his Presidency, to a crowd of die-hard liberals, one marine known only as “J” wasn’t convinced.
J contacted us to publish his response to Obama’s farewell speech, and essentially his entire Presidency. We can’t agree more. Here is the letter in its entirety.
This Is Your Legacy
Mr. President,
“For the first time, I can say that I’m proud of my country.” No, these aren’t my words, they’re the words of your wife when you took office in 2009. This set the tone for the kind of President you’d be, and the kind of legacy you left behind.
Your speech to your adoring fans screaming “Four more years!” makes for a good sound bite and video clip, but it doesn’t paint the picture of the tens of millions of regular Americans that voted you in twice and gotten stabbed in the back for it.
You stood in front of hundreds of veterans and promised that their lives would be better after you took office, that they would get the care that their country owed them. Eight years later, the VA is more broken than ever and my brothers and sisters in arms are committing suicide at an all time high. You ignored the advice of wartime Generals and pulled troops out of an unstable country and gave rise to ISIS, the most evil group of people on the planet. This is your legacy.
Our country is twice as much in debt as it was when you took office, to the tune of nearly $20 trillion. That number is so large that is may as well be monopoly money, and the only people that are footing the bill are our children, the ones that you cut off at the knees by taking millions in “donations” from bloated teachers’ unions. You know, the ones who hire teachers who can’t teach and can’t be fired. This is your legacy.
You said that America became stronger, but all you did was apologize to corrupt world leaders and made deals with radical Muslims who want us and our allies in Israel to be wiped off the map. You downplayed terrorist attacks as workplace violence, and used national tragedies to trample on the second amendment rights of law abiding citizens. You legitimized the hateful Black Lives Matter movement and gave them the ability to poison the minds of our inner city youth, then stood on the graves on the officers that lost their lives as a result and had the audacity to lecture grieving police officers about race relations. This is your legacy.
You said middle America clings to God and guns, while you waged war on both. You tried to pass yourself off as a Christian, while telling radical Muslim nations that practice Sharia Law that you stand with them. This is your legacy.
You spoke about Obamacare being a force for good, but don’t have the common sense to realize that holding a gun to the heads of people who work for a living, to pay for the ones that don’t, makes everyone worse off. Making it illegal for people not to have coverage is exactly the kind of socialism that conservatives warned about before you got into office. You dismissed these claims as conspiracy theories, but now we have regular, healthy families having to pay tens of thousands of dollars for the bare minimum of healthcare. This is your legacy.
Before you were elected, you made the case that the first black President would be a milestone for this country. Eight years later, you’re standing on the podium, saying “Yes, We Did,” like you’ve accomplished something other than playing a record amount of golf as the country gets ready for its second great recession. This is your legacy.
What may come as a surprise to you and the rest of the now far-left pundits that run the media is, the color of your skin never mattered to America. It was the policies that attracted Americans, the decency and unity that you said you’d restore to this nation, and it was the betrayal of these ideas which gave us an actual outsider, and the person that you failed to stop, Donald Trump.
Your Presidency was a wake-up call for America. You said that you’re now motivated to chime in about our political system as a citizen, but I’m here to tell you, as someone who loves this country and will fight to the death to protect the Constitution that you referred to as “just a piece of parchment,” that America has awakened to your self-serving ideology and they’ve had enough of you.

"Slow" marine animals show their secret life under high magnification. Corals and sponges build coral reefs and play crucial roles in the biosphere, yet we know almost nothing about their daily lives. These animals are actually very mobile creatures. However their motion is only detectable at different time scales compared to ours and requires time lapses to be seen.

Make sure you watch the video on a large screen. This clip is displayed in Full HD, yet the source footage (or the whole clip), is available in UltraHD 4k resolution for media productions.
The answer to a common question: yes, colors are "real" and not exaggerated by digital enhancement. We have only applied basic white balance correction. However, we used specialized lights to mimic the underwater ambient spectrum. When photographers use white light (artificial spectrum) on corals, they simply miss the vast majority of colours. Corals have spectrum-sensitive colouration due to fluorescent pigments.
The duration of sequences varied from 20 minutes to 6+ hours.

To make this little clip we took 150000 shots. Why so many? Because macro photography involves shallow depth of field. To extend it, we used focus stacking and deconvolution algorithms. Each frame of the video is actually a stack that consists of 3-12 shots.
Just the intro and the last scene are regular real-time footage. One frame required about 10 minutes of processing time (raw conversion + stacking + deconvolution in some scenes). Unfortunately, the success rate was very low due to copious technical challenges and we spent almost 9 long months to get it right.

We were lucky enough to work with dutch film director Martin Koolhoven on 3 TVC’s to recruit technicians for the Dutch Defense (Marines, Air Force & Ground Force). His idea to portrait the technician as a hero on epic level was one we could not resist to cooperate on.
A raw and cinematic approach was the right way to go.
With wireframes and fast mechanic animations we got the right look and feel for the animation parts.
Next to all the animations, we were responsible for post production and supervision on location.

Defensie Marine TVC (Dutch Marines)
We were lucky enough to work with dutch film director Martin Koolhoven on 3 TVC’s to recruit technicians for the Dutch Defense (Marines, Air Force & Ground Force). His idea to portrait the technician as a hero on epic level was one we could not resist to cooperate on. A raw and cinematic approach was the right way to go. With wireframes and fast mechanic animations we got the right look and feel for the animation parts. Next to all the animations, we were responsible for post production and supervision on location. When President Barack Obama took the stage in a farewell speech that summed up his Presidency, to a crowd of die-hard liberals, one marine known only as “J” wasn’t convinced.
J contacted us to publish his response to Obama’s farewell speech, and essentially his entire Presidency. We can’t agree more. Here is the letter in its entirety.
This Is Your Legacy
Mr. President,
“For the first time, I can say that I’m proud of my country.” No, these aren’t my words, they’re the words of your wife when you took office in 2009. This set the tone for the kind of President you’d be, and the kind of legacy you left behind.
Your speech to your adoring fans screaming “Four more years!” makes for a good sound bite and video clip, but it doesn’t paint the picture of the tens of millions of regular Americans that voted you in twice and gotten stabbed in the back for it.
You stood in front of hundreds of veterans and promised that their lives would be better after you took office, that they would get the care that their country owed them. Eight years later, the VA is more broken than ever and my brothers and sisters in arms are committing suicide at an all time high. You ignored the advice of wartime Generals and pulled troops out of an unstable country and gave rise to ISIS, the most evil group of people on the planet. This is your legacy.
Our country is twice as much in debt as it was when you took office, to the tune of nearly $20 trillion. That number is so large that is may as well be monopoly money, and the only people that are footing the bill are our children, the ones that you cut off at the knees by taking millions in “donations” from bloated teachers’ unions. You know, the ones who hire teachers who can’t teach and can’t be fired. This is your legacy.
You said that America became stronger, but all you did was apologize to corrupt world leaders and made deals with radical Muslims who want us and our allies in Israel to be wiped off the map. You downplayed terrorist attacks as workplace violence, and used national tragedies to trample on the second amendment rights of law abiding citizens. You legitimized the hateful Black Lives Matter movement and gave them the ability to poison the minds of our inner city youth, then stood on the graves on the officers that lost their lives as a result and had the audacity to lecture grieving police officers about race relations. This is your legacy.
You said middle America clings to God and guns, while you waged war on both. You tried to pass yourself off as a Christian, while telling radical Muslim nations that practice Sharia Law that you stand with them. This is your legacy.
You spoke about Obamacare being a force for good, but don’t have the common sense to realize that holding a gun to the heads of people who work for a living, to pay for the ones that don’t, makes everyone worse off. Making it illegal for people not to have coverage is exactly the kind of socialism that conservatives warned about before you got into office. You dismissed these claims as conspiracy theories, but now we have regular, healthy families having to pay tens of thousands of dollars for the bare minimum of healthcare. This is your legacy.
Before you were elected, you made the case that the first black President would be a milestone for this country. Eight years later, you’re standing on the podium, saying “Yes, We Did,” like you’ve accomplished something other than playing a record amount of golf as the country gets ready for its second great recession. This is your legacy.
What may come as a surprise to you and the rest of the now far-left pundits that run the media is, the color of your skin never mattered to America. It was the policies that attracted Americans, the decency and unity that you said you’d restore to this nation, and it was the betrayal of these ideas which gave us an actual outsider, and the person that you failed to stop, Donald Trump.
Your Presidency was a wake-up call for America. You said that you’re now motivated to chime in about our political system as a citizen, but I’m here to tell you, as someone who loves this country and will fight to the death to protect the Constitution that you referred to as “just a piece of parchment,” that America has awakened to your self-serving ideology and they’ve had enough of you.

"Slow" marine animals show their secret life under high magnification. Corals and sponges build coral reefs and play crucial roles in the biosphere, yet we know almost nothing about their daily lives. These animals are actually very mobile creatures. However their motion is only detectable at different time scales compared to ours and requires time lapses to be seen.

Make sure you watch the video on a large screen. This clip is displayed in Full HD, yet the source footage (or the whole clip), is available in UltraHD 4k resolution for media productions.
The answer to a common question: yes, colors are "real" and not exaggerated by digital enhancement. We have only applied basic white balance correction. However, we used specialized lights to mimic the underwater ambient spectrum. When photographers use white light (artificial spectrum) on corals, they simply miss the vast majority of colours. Corals have spectrum-sensitive colouration due to fluorescent pigments.
The duration of sequences varied from 20 minutes to 6+ hours.

To make this little clip we took 150000 shots. Why so many? Because macro photography involves shallow depth of field. To extend it, we used focus stacking and deconvolution algorithms. Each frame of the video is actually a stack that consists of 3-12 shots.
Just the intro and the last scene are regular real-time footage. One frame required about 10 minutes of processing time (raw conversion + stacking + deconvolution in some scenes). Unfortunately, the success rate was very low due to copious technical challenges and we spent almost 9 long months to get it right.

We were lucky enough to work with dutch film director Martin Koolhoven on 3 TVC’s to recruit technicians for the Dutch Defense (Marines, Air Force & Ground Force). His idea to portrait the technician as a hero on epic level was one we could not resist to cooperate on.
A raw and cinematic approach was the right way to go.
With wireframes and fast mechanic animations we got the right look and feel for the animation parts.
Next to all the animations, we were responsible for post production and supervision on location.
