That's it for now...and this season

Thanks for following along, hopefully next year is a bit more competitive. We may be seeing the best basketball team ever assembled, folks. These Warriors are unbelievably good. We'll be back later in the week with all the AFL, NRL and other sports action.

The floor is clearing as we get ready for the trophy presentation. Kevin Durant has been named Finals MVP, well deserved.

Durant and Curry embrace on the floor. Both of them were great this series but KD is clearly the MVP for Golden State - his much-discussed move to the Warriors has obviously paid immediate dividends for all involved.

Golden State 129, Cleveland 120

The Warriors are the champs again!!! For the second time in three years, it's their title. They exorcise the demons of last year and this team will be talked about for years and years to come.

1:31 to go, Warriors lead 126-115

Kyrie loses a dribble and it rolls out of bounds, and any remote sniff of a chance that Cleveland may have had is now gone

4:03 to go, Warriors lead 122-108

Curry is fouled and the fans know now that they're about to see their team crowned champions for the second time in the last three years. What a performance.

5:01 to go, Warriors lead 118-106

Game over you'd think. Durant beats Korver off the dribble and lays it in, at the other end the Cavs have gone cold.

7:42 to go, Warriors lead 112-102

Korver finally gets a three to go before Iguodala finds a wideopen Durant under the basket...and then after a LeBron miss, the exact same play see Curry hit Iguodala for two! Ten points the gap now, this could be a bridge too far for Cleveland.

2:00 gone, Warriors lead 106-98

Durant has hit two threes and Iguodala one as Golden State start the final quarter on top.

END OF THIRD QUARTER: Warriors 98, Cavs 93

Sensational third quarter for Cleveland and after another timely JR Smith three, the margin is five points as we go into the final 12 minutes of play.

10:37 gone, Warriors lead 94-88

Korver doesn't get a shot off before the shot clock expires and that's two turnovers in two possessions for Cleveland after not having one for the entire quarter before that.

8:46 gone, Warriors lead 93-86

LeBron spoons one up to Thompson who slams home a dunk to cut it to four, before KD drains a three. Anyone's game as Cleveland take a timeout!

Love has two points for the game.

5:45 gone, Warriors lead 82-77

Thompson banks one in and suddenly, we have a game!

4:05 gone, Warriors lead 79-71

Great energy by LeBron to wrestle for a rebound from a Love missed three as GSW take a timeout. A solid start to the half for Cleveland. The lead is back to eight!

Back underway!

Can Cleveland find a way back into this?

HALF TIME: Warriors 71, Cavs 60

JR Smith hits a long-range three to end the half, and give a tad of respectability to the scoreline. I guess with how rampant the Warriors looked for a few minutes there, an 11-point margin for Cleveland isn't disastrous. Either way, they have a mountain to climb to keep this series alive.

10:50 gone, Warriors 69-52

An astonishing turnaround here as Cleveland keep bricking shots and the Warriors keep hitting them on lightning-quick counters. This looked like a contest only 20 minutes ago!
