News magazine

A news magazine is a typed, printed, and published piece of paper, magazine or a radio or television program, usually weekly, showing articles on current events. News magazines generally go more in-depth into stories than newspapers or television programs, trying to give the reader an understanding of the important events, rather than just the facts.

Broadcast news magazines

Radio news magazines are similar to television news magazines. Unlike radio newscasts, which are typically about five minutes in length, radio news magazines can run from 30 minutes to three hours or more.

Television news magazines provide a similar service to print news magazines, but their stories are presented as short television documentaries rather than written articles. These broadcasts serve as an alternative in covering certain issues more in-depth than regular newscasts. The formula, first established by Panorama on the BBC in 1953 has proved successful around the world. Television news magazines provide several stories not seen on regular newscasts, including celebrity profiles, coverage of big businesses, hidden camera techniques, better international coverage, exposing and correcting injustices, in-depth coverage of a headline story, and hot topic interviews.

News Magazine (TV series)

News Magazine was an Australian television series which aired from 1958 to 1960 on Melbourne station HSV-7. Hosted by HSV personality Brenda Marshall, little is known about the series, however it is notable as an early example of an Australian news series. It aired in a daytime time-slot on Tuesdays, and during its run the time-slot running time varied from 10 minutes to 20 minutes (assuming the series had a sponsor, the running time minus commercials is unknown). Archival status of the series is not known, however as few Australian newscasts are known to survive from the 1960s, the series may be lost, though this is not confirmed.

The episode broadcast 12 January 1960 aired at 3:30PM, against U.S. series Federal Men on GTV-9, while ABV-2 did not offer any programming until 4:00PM. The episode broadcast 3 November 1959 aired at 2:30PM and aired against U.S. series Dear Phoebe on GTV-9, while ABV-2 did not offer any programming until 3:00PM.

Manorama News

Manorama News (also known as MM TV) is a Malayalam language news channel owned and operated by Malayala Manorama. The channel, based at Aroor Alleppey, was launched on 17 August 2006, which coincided with the Malayalam New Year. The channel was launched with the assistance of media consulting company Mediaguru Consultants Pvt. Ltd.

The thirty-minute simultaneous newscast of regional news, Nattuvartha, from three regions of Kerala, viz. Malabar region, Kochi Region and Travancore region was done for the first time in the country.

Johny Lukose is the News Director and he also anchors a programme "Nere Chove". Romy Mathew and Pramod Raman are the Coordinating Editors of the channel and heads the input and output functions respectively.
