Japandroids is a Canadian rock band from Vancouver, British Columbia, consisting of Brian King (guitar, vocals) and David Prowse (drums, vocals).
Formed in 2006, the band rose to prominence following the release of their debut album Post-Nothing (2009). Their second album, Celebration Rock (2012), was released to widespread critical acclaim, with Rolling Stone listing it as one of "The 10 Coolest Summer Albums of All Time", and Spin naming them 2012's Band of the Year. Japandroids toured heavily in support of both albums, gaining notoriety for their live performances and extensive international concert tours. Between 2009 and 2013, the band performed approximately 500 shows in 44 countries across North and South America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania.
Japandroids' music has been described as "one part classic rock, one part punk", due to their blending of classic rock influences such as Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty, with punk rock influences such as the Replacements and Hüsker Dü.
The Wild Heart or Wild Heart may refer to:
The Wild is a 2006 American computer animated adventure family comedy film directed by animator Steve "Spaz" Williams, written by Ed Decter, John J. Strauss, Mark Gibson and Philip Halprin, features the voices of Kiefer Sutherland, Jim Belushi, Janeane Garofalo, Greg Cipes, Eddie Izzard, Richard Kind, William Shatner and Patrick Warburton and produced by Clint Goldman, Will Vinton (who serves as an executive producer) and Beau Flynn. The film was a C.O.R.E. Feature Animation and Walt Disney Pictures production, and it was distributed by Buena Vista Pictures. It was released to theaters on April 14, 2006 in North America by Buena Vista Pictures and Walt Disney Pictures. The film received generally negative reviews from critics and it earned $102,338,515 on a $80 million budget.
A music festival is a festival oriented towards music that is sometimes presented with a theme such as musical genre, nationality or locality of musicians, or holiday. They are commonly held outdoors, and are often inclusive of other attractions such as food and merchandise vending, performance art, and social activities. Many festivals are annual, or repeat at some other interval. Some, including many rock festivals, are held only once. Some festivals are organized as for-profit concerts and others are benefits for a specific cause. Another type of music festival is the educative type, organized annually in local communities, regionally or nationally, for the benefit of amateur musicians of all ages and grades of achievement.
The Pythian Games at Delphi included musical performances, and may be one of the earliest festivals known. During the Middle Ages festivals were often held as competitions.
Another type of music festival is the educative type, organized annually in local communities, regionally or nationally, for the benefit of amateur musicians of all ages and grades of achievement. While entrants perform prepared pieces in the presence of an audience which includes competitors, the essential feature of this type of festival is that each participant receives verbal and written feedback, there and then, from a highly qualified, professional adjudicator—someone whom they might never meet in any other way. They also usually receive a certificate, classified according to merit, and some may win trophies. The competitive element is often played down, however, as the important aspect is that participants can learn from one another. Such festivals aim to provide a friendly and supportive platform for musicians to share in the excitement of making music. For many they provide a bridge between lessons & examinations and performing confidently in public.
"Younger Us" is the second 7" single by Canadian rock duo Japandroids. It was released by Polyvinyl Record Co. on July 20, 2010. The initial pressing was limited to 2500 copies on clear vinyl. The song has been later included on Japandroids' second album Celebration Rock.
Pitchfork Media awarded the song "Younger Us" a 'Best New Music' designation, and ranked it #42 on its list of top 100 singles of 2010.

Japandroids live in DC at the 9:30 Club, February 28, 2017: Near to the Wild Heart of Life
http://japandroids.com/ http://incubate.org From the Incubate festival website: Japandroids got an awful lot of praise from critics, scene kids and music lovers alike, mainly because of their infamously frenetic live shows. Fun fact: their debut LP Post-nothing was supposed to be their swan song before calling it quits. One final time - on the verge of losing something they cherished - they played their guts out in a mere 30 minutes. Apparently it paid dividends: three years later they unleashed the fantastic 'Celebration Rock' as noise pops newly branded figureheads. http://www.last.fm/music/Japandroids Disclaimer: "No copyright infringement intended. A beautiful album that wasn't on here. Sounds like Pavement, Built to Spill, Brand New, The Cure, Cap 'N Jazz, Dinosaur Jr., My Bloody Valentine, Japandroids and many others. Beautiful compositions sprinkled with cello and piano, screaming guitars and synthesizer too. Feel free to leave recommendations for others and myself.

Hitchhiked to hell and back
Riding the wind
Waiting for a generation's bonfire to begin
When the plunder of the poets
Thunder of a punk's guitar
Beat life to my body
Sulking drunk at the back of a bar
Whoring my heart
On the wings of a western night
Busting my guts
On a riot dose of paradise
When a red-blooded daughter
Slowed my gunfire run to rest
With her blitzkrieg love
And a roman candle kiss
There is no high like this
Adrenaline nightshift
Hurricane home to crusade alone
Wounded and thin
Still waiting for a generation's bonfire to begin
When I muscle up some money
I'll rattle the sabre of the streets
Cause death has no respect for love
And youth no respect for me
There is no high like this
